My best friend's granddaughter has down syndrome.... ❤.... Her and i made a connection when she was a toddler and it still remains to this day even though i now live 100s of miles away....
Oh this is so special to hear! ❤ Simmy and i live about an hour and a half from each other so catch ups are rare but she sends me daily messages, pics and outfit update videos on whats app 🥰 - we have a digital pen pal thing going on too- i feel so much love from her, it's beautiful x
Isn't she just! Yeah she's very particular with what she likes to wear and her Mumma Juanita has a great eye too so they work together to get Simmy dressed. There are so many everyday outfit things that we take for granted like tieing our shoes or doing up bras etc - i've discovered through knowing Simmy and her Mumma how much people with disabilities are still not front of mind in the fashion industry. A lot of 'adaptive clothing' ( which i talk about in my book) isn't very fashionable - and why just because someone is 'disabled' don't they deserve to feel cool and stylish!? So Juanita has had to adapt Simmy's outfits over the years because there was nothing out there, thankfully things are starting to shift now and there are some great adaptive brands emerging and we are seeing models like Simmy on the runways and in ad campaigns too x
Hi Faye I really love your personal style & I have just found your videos so very pleased! Could I give you my thoughts? I find the first person filming very jumpy and I want to actually see you in the video, I find it hard to watch sometimes with all the wobbly camera work. My main TH-cam thrifter is Beth Jones Style because of how she films her videos could I make a suggestion that you have a look at how she's films her videos.as they are so much easier to watch. She has someone else film her and she talks to the camera, not so much moving around with a steady camera. I think you could make a few changes and you could really rock this as your personal style is so unique! I love Simmie by the way what a cool lady!!
I wasn't trying to be Spielberg with this one - just something that happened off the cuff, rare, raw and in the moment. It was more important for me to spread awareness and to share for Simmy so she could see herself and feel special and she is absolutely stoked, so that's what matters to me I have plenty of other videos that are shot with higher production values where i feature heavily and more coming, so please feel free to check them out but not really keen on comparing myself to other channels ✌🏾🕊
