    I discovered my 1209 digs in on the PTO side when the ground is soft. Always cut with dry ground so never noticed it. Now that I see where your springs are compared to mine, I believe I found the issue. There is at least a foot of threads exposed where yours are at the top. I believe mine is single spring, or the inner is busted.

    We have the same 1207, I’m trying to figure out how to adjust the rubber rollers. The driveline side is much lower causing hay to get bound up below the bottom roller near the tire. It’s becoming a pain. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

      Yes the hay will get bound up in either corner. The drive side is the worst. Imho the pan was designed wrong and allows this to happen, if the hay is wet or you have wet dirt from mole hills etc it seems to be more so. I have found if lift the cutter bar up from the ground so your cutting higher it help. Also l spray paint the pan area ever year, as the bare metal seems to grab the hay or dirt. Just try and keep it cleaned out and l found cutting later in the day when the dew is off helps, alot, or physically move over about 6inches so the drive side corner travels over cut ground, and not actually cutting with the first 2 or 3 sections. Your giving up some cutting width but it will help keep the hay getting bound up

    Hello there. I have a 1209 I think maybe older then your there. The grease zert on vib damp. You have I can not find on mine. Would you know is that on the later model 1209 ?

      @jonathantarrant2449 ปีที่แล้ว

      Im certain it would be there, yes mine was a late model 1209, it had a lot of the 1219 mods, minus the 5 batten reel and the 2nd hyd cylinder to left the cutting deck.

    Im replacing seals and bearings behind the gears..... any tips for getting half shaft back in gearbox?

    • @jonathantarrant2449

      Dont quite understand the question. Are you asking about the 2 shafts that go from the gearbox to the top and bottom rollers. If so they should just slip in and out on the splines, make sure you time it correctly by lining up the grease zurks otherwise your rollers will hit one another

      Thanks Johnathan,kind of you to respond. the issue was getting back bearings on half shaft behind the gear box. We had a seal leaking. The 2 little shafts in the deep
      freezer a couple hours did the trick! I don't know if everyone's was that tight but took a puller to get off!

    What are some things to look for when buying a use one?

    • @jonathantarrant2449
      @jonathantarrant2449 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wore out rubber on the rollers is probably number one thing, the rollers are the cost of the moco. 2 gearboxes rool over smooth. 3 would be knife and guards. The knife sections are cheap and easy to replace same with pickup teeth.
