NORTHERN WAY · STAGE 12 · As Laxes - Madelos

We start from As Laxes to face an ascending stretch through the profiles of the Vilaldar, do Espiño and Alto da Mámoa mountains.
The terrain is somewhat rockier and more solitary, which makes farming difficult. However, small villages can be seen scattered among the more generous lands that make good use of the spaces available for pasture.
The route passes the Serra da Cova de Serpe on its southern slope, following the Rego Carral valley as far as A Cabana. Here, a new line of elevations known as Montes Corno do Boi will be the last obstacle before passing from the province of Lugo to that of La Coruña.
Going parallel to the AC-934 road, we will arrive at the town of Sobrado, a great landmark of this Northern Route where we will visit the Monastery of Santa María. The monument will surprise us by the spectacular nature of its church and the different cloisters and chapels.
The high occupancy of the Monastery Hostel, and of Sobrado in general, opens the possibility of extending a little more the kilometers of the stage about 6 to spend the night in the recommended Abeiro da Loba Lodging.
One last kilometer that faces a small climb through the Monte Vello towards the top of O Coto and runs through the places of O Peroxill, Carelle and A Igrexa, among others.

Cuando estuve en sobrado dos monxes no lo vi también el monasterio y eso que dormi en el... aunque en mi defensa tengo que decir que provenía de baamonde...magnífico video, cada vez ponéis el listón más alto!!!

Buena defensa, te pegaste un buen etapón 💪 Nos habría encantado dormir allí pero estaba hasta arriba el albergue, bueno, todo Sobrado en general. La opción Abeiro fue toda una sorpresa, nos encantó. Enhorabuena por ese Camino! Gracias Sergio!
