I think I may have articulated my critiques more than my loves with this one. It's a very good game, I was frustrated by some of the issues but they don't detract from how good the combat is which is the heart of the experience and the characters are very cool. Wow this was SUPER addictive. Let’s e know what you think - what game has had you hooked recently? Mark
I am stuck playing "For The King", "Pokemon Unite", and "Gems of War" to name a few. My library is full of backlog games and these new releases aren't helping me get to them...lol
This is certainly one of the most interesting hiddem gems of 2021. And since i've played many games from this studio, from my experience, this is top-notch.
I had NEVER heard of this game but it looks like a great time! Definitely added to my wishlist! Would’ve never discovered it without your video man! Great work!
Honestly, the game looks very good. I’m stoked for this review, may end up needing the add to my backlog buttttt… we shall see. Thanks for the review, happy to see the content.
This seems amazing. Love the art style (vanillaware vibes), the story (valkyria chronicles vibes), and emphasis on character relationships that changes gameplay (persona vibes).
@@Rustyhound-Cartoons There's some concept art of the solatorobo robots (the game before this, but chronologicaly in the future) that are basically the GL concept. This game is just probably set before mechs became standard.
@@Rustyhound-Cartoons Bro! Thank you!! Same thing here!! I thought I was going nuts, coz; when I started playing this game; I immediately started thinking of Gurenn Lagann.. eventually I even started humming Gurenn tunes like ”Misera (?)” and ”Row, Row, Fight the Powah!” :D But I just couldn’t figure out why this game in particular was subtly* giving me Gurenn Lagann vibes like that. Hearing that somebody else is getting the same thoughts/vibes put a smile to my face. PS! I still haven’t been exactly able to point out why I’m getting Gurenn-vibes of this game, though. I think I had watched that anime back in 2012(?)-ish so maybe I’ve forgotten some stuff, I dunno.. Hmm..
I'm thrilled that a new game in the LTB universe was finally released. And what's more, it's gorgeous and well-designed. If this is the caliber of self-published game we can expect from CC2, I cannot wait to see what comes next!
I've just realized that this is somewhat a sequel to Solatorobo, one of my faves on the Nintendo DS! I'll certainly have to check this out, thanks for the review.
Thanks for the review! Always love your detailed and calm reviews! Instantly brought me back to childhood of advanced wars with this one, will be keeping my eyes on it! So nice of y’all to be giving out codes every month 🥰
Looks really interesting! The soul cannon mechanic reminds me the system in Dragon Quarter but a lot more emotionally impactful. Also love the idea of some kids finding a tank fortress and having to take on an army. Good stuff
I'm in love with the art design and world building this series has produced. Would absolutely love a copy to see this third installment. Also super glad you're reviewing this title as it not only solidified my impression on it. But it also shine light on this small title.
I knew the art style looked familiar, its from the same people who made Solatorobo on the DS! I'm so happy they made a new game in the same universe as one of my favorite games!
Sadly it has a worse battle system compaired to solatorobo an that was made by cyber connect 2 on the dsi in 2010 an that game is still visually impressive
Fuga looks amazing it gives me a Valkyria Chronicles vibe with the badass tank and the hand drawn look this will definitely be a pick up for me thank for the review.
This looks great I have never heard of it before but now I'm really interested. This is part of why I love you guys and watch every one of the reviews you always pick the best stuff to review
I remember seeing this in a Japanese ad for CC2’s games that they are working on a super long time ago. It is great to finally see it come to fruition !
Looks really interesting and I’m glad I came across your channel. Nothing worse when you’re on the fence about a game but a good review makes all the difference 😊
I loved the cartoony mech battles on solatorobo on my ds. Excited for the strategy style battles in this one. I hope there are cameos from the solatorobo characters.
When I first saw this game I immediately added it to my wish list. It looked like a fantastic game to play. I just love the turn-based rpg games. Love the review, just what I was waiting for. Definitely going to pick up this game, at some point.
This looks like a very interesting game. I like the way they implemented the Fire Emblem like relationship boost between characters in combat. This is going on my list of games to check out.
I really like this game, I already have the game of steam, and it is awesome, tho if I won a copy, I'd give it for a friend's birthday one thing I'd like to add, is that this game is in the same universe as solatorobo released on DS and tail concerto released on ps1, the continuity is really on point (this game being an historical event mentioned in solatorobo) and if you like the universe, I would really suggest the other two also, everything is on floating island, because of an event even earlier in the history of this universe
Woaw, this looks like a game my teenage self would have absolutely loved to play 😍! My adult self is sooo ready to try it, it looks interesting enough to keep me hooked but not too stressful in the combat style. I get stressed when it's a "free for all" type of game 😅. This goes on my wishlist straightaway 🙂
if you're interested in it, it's game is in the little tail bronx universe, which is also comprised of tail concerto on ps1 and solatorobo on nintendo ds and the lore in this universe is so on point lol, if you know it enough from the first games, you could probably guess the whole story of this one, this one retracing an historical event from the past (being, the war between felineko and caninu) it's really great
Well that certainly came out of nowhere. Glad it’s good! I saw a trailer and I was reminded of the 80s anime trend of having anthropomorphic animals, like the Three Musketeers that were dogs and such.
Great review, I was hoping one of the channels I follow would cover it as it seems like a hidden gem that could easily slip under the radar. Thanks again for a thorough review 👍🏾
I just love, how now that the Nintendo Switch kinda reached it's graphical "absolute maximum stress point" developers choose more artistic artstyles for their games. And this game nailed it's artstyle 100%.
This looks like a combination of everything I love: an eye catching and cute art style, interesting character dynamics, and turn based gameplay. I'm really interested in getting this.
I played solatorobo and was surprised with how good the story and BGM is, so since this is from the same series I will try it thou the gameplay is different than solatorobo
I am so happy that I click on the video! Its the kind of game I would enjoy like the first two advance Wars. Its artstyle is amazing! Hopefully Ill get to play it someday.
I'd never heard of this before your review. Looks like it's a really interesting and unique game. My gaming dance card is a little full right now but I'm always up for something new so it's getting squeezed in somewhere. Thanks for bringing this one to my attention 👍
It reminds me of the Art Spiegelman classic WW2 comic Maus, with sides of the conflict metaphorical represented by predator and prey relationships. I’m certainly interested, thanks for putting the game on my radar!
It looks gorgeous, and I hope to one day play it, on a sale or as a physical release. For now, it goes on the wishlist (my "backlog" replacement, with a few "rules" to avoid spending on games I don't really play in the end...). But I love everything about what I see here. Valkyria Chronicles and Wargroove are still among my favourites on Switch, and Advance Wars is among the games I look most forward to, despite still having the originals as well. A bit of Solatorobo added to the mix, can't go wrong.

Look up solatorobo than fuga . Sadly fuga took many downgrades since solatorobo on the ds in 2010
Love the artstyle of this one. The new Advance Wars look wasn’t my thing but I’ll gladly play this one :)
Yeah it looks lovely for sure! Very addictive as well. Mark
Yeah maybe dont search the artists onlime
Thank you SwitchUp for the review! Keep them coming!
Looks like a really interesting combination of gameplay mechanics
The whole "animals in WWII" thing reminded me of Maus, which is one of my favorite graphic novels
It reminds me more of La Bête est Morte by Zimmerman, Calvo and Dancette.
Maus is an amazing graphic novel!!!!! I thought the same thing when I saw this.
The art style is SO adorable!
Very metal slug like
Adorable, yet with a touch of despair that war brings with it.
If you like the artstyle, take a look at Tail Concerto and SolaToRobo, they're set in the same universe.
The artstyle for the beast people is unofficially called "kemono"
Its essence is animesque qualities.
I had NEVER heard of this game but it looks like a great time! Definitely added to my wishlist! Would’ve never discovered it without your video man! Great work!

Solatorobo is one of my favourite games of all time, so I am very much looking forward to this one! Cheers for the review :)
I enjoyed Sola to Robo, so I was excited when this was first mentioned. Had no idea it was finally released. I will definitely pick this up.
This seems amazing. Love the art style (vanillaware vibes), the story (valkyria chronicles vibes), and emphasis on character relationships that changes gameplay (persona vibes).
It looks like this one will be on my “to get” list. Thanks for the comprehensive review
Game looks so amazing, I really hope more devs take different routes like this one, hope to try it one day when it goes on a good sale
Looks like a charming and engaging turn-based RPG, which I'm always down for
Looks like an interesting mix of valkyria advanced wars and sort of spiritfarer
Exactly what I was thinking.
It reminds me of gurren lagann for some reason
@@Rustyhound-Cartoons There's some concept art of the solatorobo robots (the game before this, but chronologicaly in the future) that are basically the GL concept. This game is just probably set before mechs became standard.
A bit of Miitopia too with how the roads split up.

I can't wait to dig into this. I loved the hell out of Solatarobo on the DS, and I've been waiting for this for the longest.
This is exactly what I need while waiting for the Advance wars remakes, really feeling the art style. Looks great
Everything about this game looks awesome! So glad you reviewed it. I love a good story, and this kind of gameplay looks fun and interesting.

Chrono cross is still one of my favorite OSTs of all time so I guess I mentally use that reason to excuse the battle theme.
