When Pete said we still don't know where the 6th cap is, in my heart of hearts I wanted it to be in the pocket, and I was not disappointed. Phenomenal game from a viewers perspective.
@@iansrven3023 pretty sure what happened was Green got greedy for the the 1 pt Russia hold & took the internal position 1st not realizing there was very almost 0 chance that *both* of the border positions would pass on capping there, Black capped next to green since they had the border & then White chose to contest Black's cap not knowing Green & Purple were both inside there. Had White known they could’ve just focused on E. Europe & the rest of the map bonuses while the carnage in Russia played out but hey, we all got to watch a hilarious game thx to their greed. GGWP FreePete!
@@ttvgard1e809 yeah White doing that was a risk but Black & Purple's very weird choices really sunk your chances, at least it made for entertaining content for the rest of us!
lol TBF Purple did hold Russia for ~4 turns but it was def a Pyrrhic victory for sure! They could not have chosen a worse cap location than thinking they could hide inside Russia & hold a split Scandinavia bonus long term RIP
Its a great honour to watch and learn from your games! Especially to keep relaxed in some game situations and have patience to wait for the final kill! Very impressive!
Please tell me I'm not the only one that looks to see how long the video is and be like 21 minutes sure I'll watch that and then again 45 minutes sure I'll watch that and all the way up to the awesome almost 5 hour video of the home game which looked like a lot of fun and it helped get me through a long prep day in the kitchen and I'm still like sure I'll watch that lol. Much love Pete keep it up pimp
The amount of times where i wanted you risk smacking the purple cap in the Russia pocket is too much lol i was like bro just set, get the cap, and fortify it all forward!! 😂
Omg i have been watching the peteman for ever and i never knew i was in a video! Im lukemc lol. I capped first in that super russia pocket in the middle of those caps so i was sandwiched turn one and almost got away with holding most of those caps! But alas the peteman saw me. Ggs (ps purples capped all the way in the corner and i did not see it so thats why i capped russia it was just me at the time!)
I've gotten a turn 3 win, I was confused how I didn't win instantly, lol I won in 3 seconds when the next round started as I was last player. I was able to do it due to three people botting first 2 turns and leaving their caps, while the other two fought to attrition as mortal enemies, I steamrolled the weak caps.
@@FreePete yeahh, about that. I record my tourney games from now on, just got a decent second in R5 owing to a no set on 4 in prog. Great tourney Pete! Letting people play till 5 rounds was common sense that tourneys needed.
I wonder if the reason Pete goes negative so much is because he sliders the capitals. Maybe that bad math they have happens when you slam it with full troops.
Cap rolls have been consistently bad when I get attacked and I still seem to lose double most of the time I attack them. Definitely doesn’t feel like there’s actually 3 dice defending. It’s very strange.
Do you have a rumble channel? With the changes to TH-cam I think I am going to stop using it. I like watching your videos so let me know if you have or get a channel thanks.
This is a game where the noobs short circuited. 18 minutes in those ten territories are the map and everything outside of Russia is the pocket. Jeez. There are only two people outside the pocket. Without your tiny savory port you had zero vision on the pocket. Those idiots all botted out of the game because they all made a terrible choice. Blue is also in the english noob corner... I mean this is going to be such a weird match. The early game just blasted it away.five capitals half way into the video... This is madness. Where is green? I said Italy because I swear we established that already? From earlier. Well now you got sight lines everywhere. I was also going to say the purple pocket cap was probably low troop.
Doesn’t the way you played at the end incentivize bot outs? Like it totally makes sense in many circumstances to kill the player before the bot in order to eliminate the competition, but in circumstances like this, you just totally get to choose whether they tie or who gets 2nd. To incentivize non-bot outs, shouldn’t the community norm be to kill player-turned-bots first, annoying players second (e.g. maybe purple hitting you at the end counts as annoying), and friendly/good play last? I could be totally wrong but I do feel like there’s a disconnect between how much you dislike botouts and how your play incentivizes them. I also don’t know if the order of death matters for normal rank play, in which case this is all whatever.
You're attributing an intention on my part to a systemic consquence. The system is poorly designed for FFA. If bot outs were structrually punished rank wise there would be a downside to leaving a game before it was over but that is not the case. As a rational actor in FFA it always makes sense for me to kill the player who can kill me over the player who can't. I try to give botted out players lower placement when possible but that isn't always possible and can risk my own win. I am acting rationally in a poorly designed system so the angle of attack to solve the botting out problem needs to occur at the systems level not the player decision level. Players will do what wins games, even if that thing isn't fun. I hope I explained this concept well enough?
Why didn't you roll purple in top right when you had set then stacked as many troops as possible on 1 point Russia? thanks to watching your vids, I'm now expert (regularly beating masters) after 50 hrs with 25% win ratio

Russia was 100% the noob corner with these blizzards. Absolute mayhem lol.
