I had a lovander swarm come to my base, they broke down my metal walls in about thirty seconds, a little bit after that I was getting carried away, I didn't have any pals out because I was finally fixing some major security issues that required me to temporarily remove almost everything. I did so and the result was that the lovander raid tore straight through my walls around my base. I didn't pay attention until they got up to me and picked me up, I lost control over my character while they dragged me away. They moved me about four base widths away and I didn't ever get an opportunity to press anything to fight back. Once the lovander got me away from the base they despawned with me. I had to wait for 45 minutes to respawn when normally I would only need to wait about 30 seconds max. I started laughing fairly loudly thinking well that answers that question.

Thinking about where the Chillet sleeps. I found mine sleeping on MY bed one evening when I returned. I couldn't do it. I just couldn't do it. I let him sleep and stayed awake doing stuff around my base.
The 'hold F to craft' is there specifically to incentivise players to get their pals to help them in the base. By the time you catch your first cattiva or pengullet or lamball, the new player is like "man, crafting is a chore" they'll most likely have their pal in their party 'deployed', and it suddenly starts helping the player with crafting more pal spheres or something. And just like that, the new player has formed a small bond with that pal. That why PalWorld is already better than Pokemon, the creatures in PalWorld actually feel alive, whereas the creatures in Pokemon feel more like collectables than anything else
