Steamcraft OO Live Steam V2 first test

- Handbuilt over 30 years ago and never run, this V2 was one of several hundred OO scale live steam locomotives of various prototypes built by David Taylor of Steamcraft.
Question is should I paint it or leave it in gleaming brass?
I am glad to see one of my Steamcraft locos find a good home.
It looks in good condition and should give many more years of enjoyment.
Kev you have agood memory, I ran one of mt A3 locos on Blue peter in about 1983.
The presenter insisted on showing how it worked so I had a form of remote control to start and stop the loco and had to hide under the layout.
Yes I recall seeing that locomotive on Blue Peter,! So I did not imagine it after all!

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure they had one of these on Blue Peter program in the early eighties it was defiantly a live steam 00 gauge model.

Very nice, i have 3 of these old steamcraft locos myself: The King George, Mallard and Bavaria. 2 of them are demonstrated on my youtube channel .I am yet to assemble the Bavaria which is still unopened in its original packing.
Great to see the live steam V2. How much coffee is required to run it?
One of Gresley's finest in miniature! Is the actual valve gear running the loco, or is it some sort of reduction gearing? (like the Hornby ones)

I also have one of these and it was seized up when I got it and i had to make new parts but now it run suppers.
