6 years ago and still helping people in 2022. I appreciate it. I don't need to do this (yet) but decided to look up how to since I found another video of yours useful regarding the Rene. This was the perfect length for a video, everything you need to know and nothing you don't. Well done! I saved it and gave a thumbs up. Future me is very grateful.
Thanks Mick. I plan on making more renegade videos soon. Just have to make more time. Make sure to subscribe so that you get notified when videos such as those get uploaded
Awesome video- just finished replacing the bulb on my 2016 Renegade following same instructions. Only slight hiccup I had was reconnecting the electrical connector. It’s a REALLY tight fit to get your hand in to guide it all into place and took me a few attempts to line it all up while blindly pushing it together with two awkwardly placed fingers, lol.
Glad it eventually turned out well. I appreciate the feedback on the video and for taking the time to comment. Make sure to subscribe Aaron and check our my other videos as well
Thank you for the video, very precise and easy for anyone with little knowledge to follow along, great job by you and the shop for continuing to provide quality repair videos.
Many thanks for the great feedback. Appreciate you noticing the little details that I try to spend alot of time on. I try to improve with each video so make sure to check out my newer ones and dont forget to subscribe
Another great video. I just put in led reverse lights. They look awesome and I didn't have any problems. Thanks to your videos Ive now put in led headlights, reverse lights, and running lights. Thanks again
Excellent tutorial. I would’ve appreciated your jotting down the bulb numbers in your description. I went to purchase the bulbs where the store did not have a bulb catalog - digital or hard copy.
I have a 2018 trail hawk renegade , the passenger side brake light does not have an access panel. It has a beats audio installed so the whole section in the right side cargo is just one plastic piece. How do I access the brake light unit. Many thanks for your informative videos
Glad it turned out. Glad I could help and my hats off to you! Taking on your own repairs and being a strong single mom is a great example to show your children. Thanks for the comment and make sure to subscribe
Thanks for this! I’m hoping this has what has just happened to my 2015 jeep renegade. I came out of the car wash and suddenly warning lights came on. The forward collision warning and left side rear turning and stop lights don’t work. Do you think it might be water ingress?
Great Video and very detailed. I wanted to know if I would be able to put LED lights bulbs instead of the regular light bulbs in the rear lights of my renegade.
Thank you for the video! I am having a lot of trouble pinching the lock to disconnect the light. Do you have any suggestions to help get it off? Thanks!
Thanks for the useful video. I damaged my right rear tail light and the plastic cover around the tail light is broken now. I wonder, is it replacable? I detached the light compeletely by watching your video but couldn't figure out how to seperate the plastic cover around. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Morning and thanks for the comment. I had the parts department check on the part and the tail light only comes as one piece so you cant replace just the outer cover. Thanks again and make sure to subscribe
videos are great! easy to follow great description of layouts. These videos definitely helped out a lot with replacements and some modifications with led lighting. well done sir!
Thanks, need to replace a busted housing on my mom's Jeep Renegade. she also has a shattered quarter glass on the rear passenger side, any idea where I can find info on replacing it? thanks again
I havent had the chance to installed a light bar on one yet, curious as well. Thanks for checking out the video and for the comment. Make sure to subscribe and help spread the word by sharing these videos with others.
If mama likes it.....everyone likes it lol. It sure is old school technology for sure. Thanks Mitch for the comment and for watching. Make sure to subscribe
You stated that the two outside brake and running light bulbs were 1157. Can you tell me what back up bulb is used in this assembly? I intende to replace all three on each side with LED. I know that non canbus can be used to replace the 1157's but not sure about the back up light.
Thanks! That really helped me to get the light off. It seems like my light had the ground wire burnt and the pin corroded to about 40-50% of the size of the other pins. :-)
Good question. I dont know how much room is in the housing.....never measured it to see. If I ever get the chance to remove another I will certainly make sure to measure it just incase. Thanks Fred for the question and make sure to subscribe
The 2016 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk SUV has a recurring power seat problem that prevents the use of the 8-way and lumbar functions. The problem causes the driver seat to freeze and lock into a position on the seat floor tracks. This could create a serious problem in the event of an emergency. The dealer service department is clueless on fixing the problem.
I ask for help to change the rear right signal light they never show a video of changing the right side it's always the easy left side I need help with the right side please of a Jeep renegade 2017 rear signal light.
thank you for informative video. I already subscribed. I have 2016 Jeep Renegade and planning to replace reverse back lights with LED bulbs. Can you please tell me which ones to pick and what types should I buy. Thanks!
Thanks Matthew for watching the video. I havent had the chance to try and reply the bulbs with LED's personally. I have heard there may be some issues with the module not seeing the correct current draw and causing them to not work. The module is constantly monitoring the circuits and if something gets out of specs....it can turn the circuit off. Some people place inline resistors so that they can trick the system. But as mentioned I havent tried it myself yet. Thanks for watching and appreciate you having subscribed.
thanks for your reply. I saw some LED on ebay with built-in resistors on them. They say they will work. I just hope jeep will give options on changing those yellow glow halogen bulbs.
Hi Matthew. be careful of any LED bulbs you buy on Ebay. I own a 2016 well 2 one is my son's and one is mine. I loved his so much I got my own. Do a lot of research on all LED bulbs. I'm an electrician and my house has all LED in it. Trust me brands are different there so I'm sure they are different in vehicles as well.
Do you know how to replace the upper center tail light on a 2015 Jeep Renegade? I have been unable to find a video. The light on my Jeep was damaged in in a hail storm.
The steps are many it appears. The interior rear hatch panels have to be removed and then the "upper wing" unbolted and removed, then you have access to the assembly. Wish it was simpler. Might justify a future video possibly. Make sure to subscribe so that you notified when I upload videos such as that.
That’s going to require further diag. First thing is making sure all those bulbs are okay. Otherwise checking the wiring might be needed. Nothing quick that I can point you towards, not a common issue. Thanks for asking and make sure to subscribe
Morning Simone......for the most part they have been holding up well. Not many issues. Its still hard to get use to being that its basically a Fiat with a Jeep badge. Time will tell as they get older and have more miles. Overall it has a cool/unique look.
***** Thanks for the question but no I don't. Sorry. In the future I will try to keep it in mind. Other option is to cross reference the bulb # from the video. Make sure to subscribe and help spread the word by sharing these videos with others.
+Sylvester Walsh Hello again....The service info only states how to remove the housing, not the bulb only,. I will have to see for myself when I get time.
Sylvester Walsh I was thinking the other day....The reverse lights on part of the tail lamp assembly like in the video. Its the white "X" portion of the lens. Now that's on the US models.....I don't know if its the same on the export.
+MotorCity Mechanic Thanks again, I think it is different in England, God knows why? but the centre bit does not light up, I need to have a look, perhaps no bulb there? If not I might be able to fit one there? but I should be able to find the live reverse wire there! Thanks again, great Guy!!
I went to a light specialist shop and when they tried to replace my reverse bulbs with LEDs, they said that error messages kept coming on about "the reverse lights being out". Do you have any idea why this might be?
Alot of the vehicles these days monitor the bulb circuits and its looking for a specific resistance reading. This is how it can find out if the circuit is shorted or open and then in turn set a code and possibly turn the circuit off. When you change from the OEM bulbs to LED bulbs, the resistance reading changes and then the module will see that and then turn the circuit off or see it as possible "blown" bulbs. Some times inline resistors can be installed. I havent installed any LED bulbs in these vehicles to see what is needed to actually make them work. This will most likely be the issue thats causing your issue. Thanks for the question and make sure to subscribe and check out my other videos as well.
I dont know for sure....I will have to take a closer look the next time I have one off. The service info doesnt make any mention of it. Thanks for the question. Make sure to subscribe
Hi I need to separate de Black plastic from the red acrílico red plastic from the tail lights, but I coudn[t fin the way. If you see the part from the back you will se three RARE kind screws that holds the black plastic from the side, but I don't know what kind of tool is that. Any one saw that ? May be separating this plastic alow to take out the black plastic that surround the tail light in the front of the light.
+difasde tyl Morning. I haven't had the chance to deal with the back up camera as of yet. Removing the camera seems pretty simple from looking at the service information. Looks like you need to just use a plastic trim stick and go around the edge of the camera mount and unsnap it from the lift gate.

Did you have any bulb out warnings? If not where did you get your led bulbs?

Great technical video. thank you!!! [this version of your video has a LOT of cross-talk... probably another video being done in the background.]
Thanks! That really helped me to get the light off. It seems like my light had the ground wire burnt and the pin corroded to about 40-50% of the size of the other pins. :-)
Sounds like a renegade to me! Problematic little buggers but I still love it.
