Pretty sure they renamed Green Blue for international release because GameFreak felt that fire and water were more opposing types to Westerners, and not because of the US flag.
Also both Red and Blue have another reason to be choosen as the names: - Red: It was part of the original duology with Green. - Blue: Is what both american Red and Blue are based from.
Its for both reasons, then they chose to Make Fire Red and Leaf Green because of the same fact that fire and water conflicted, so they chose grass instead, contridicting themselves.
It needs a sequel and I agree! Maybe two! One sequel happens in the times of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms! Another sequel happens in the times of the Arthurian Legends!

I feel like Lysandre is more merciful to the player in Y than in X. Making someone immortal is honestly a worse fate than death in my opinion. Imagine having to watch everything you love die while you persist. I would probably go mad. I don’t know how AZ hasn’t.
Regarding the 1/256 miss glitch, I remember my Blastoise missing Surf FOUR TIMES IN A ROW against Lance's Aerodactyl... I've always been overall unlucky with odds in most games, specially Pokemon games in general. =(

Sure it fitted into the SNES cartridge, but it would not load as Crystal was a GBC game. Gold and Silver were standard Game Boy Games. For Pokemon unite, I will provide a better fact. The game take place in aeos island which is filled with aeos energy. By absorbing this energy too much, Pokemon can evolve and be of higher level. But when they loose this energy, they return to their normal unevolved unleveled form.

Pokemon Dash could also talk to the Gen 3 games by inserting a GBA cartridge. It would generate maps based on your team.
