I’ve worked at Cracker Barrel for a few years, and honestly hate country music, but this is one of the songs on their playlist that actually kinda stood out. Not really country, more folk. But man, I remember going through the worst times of my life, being alone in that building just jamming to this… always gonna bring me back.
How funny. I currently work at CB, alone at night. I caught this over the speakers the other day and thought “That’s actually good.” Very Mazzy Star or Juliana Hatfield 90s vibes. Doesn’t fit into country mindset.
In 1980 or 1981, my cousin Carolyn had a Camaro. I think hers was a ‘76. It was Blue with white interior. I was 9, and would ride in the backseat. I remember one day I was riding in the back, and the song “The Cradle Will Rock” by Van Halen came on, and we sang it.
my favorite part about her is the look that she sometimes gets where her eyes are really sleepy and you can't tell whether she's the sweetest thing you've ever seen or if she's fucked up beyond belief
Super messed up ~or~ sweet. Why can't she be both? Also, you have excellent taste in music. I looked at your playlist(s). Sleater Kinny is girly? I suppose that explains a lot about me.
@@acetate909 I called the playlist "girlyshit" mostly because it contains female-fronted bands but i do think some sleater-kinney songs have girl-centric contents . doesn't make ya girly to listen though!
Ya, most of the best singer song writers aren't massive successes. Vapid pop will always dominate mainstream music. Jessica seems to have a solid standing in the industry with successful tours and her last album was great. She's doing just fine.
bro the cracker barrel i work at played this and i’ve been obsessed every since i’ve been looking for this song for hoursssss im so happy i found it omggg😭😭😭😭
This sorta balances out somewhere between older Jessica and "Make My Head Sing" and I'm with everyone else here saying they love it. It's been and continues to be a treat to watch the evolution of Jessica Lea Mayfield. Can't wait til' Sept. 29th!!
Saw this video in another website and had to come to TH-cam so I could immediately do a thumbs up. How more people dont know about this artist is insane to me as her music is AMAZING. Hopefully this great song solves that issue.
Total Love & Admiration & Appreciation for everything JLM does. In my 58 years, she is at the top of female singer/ songwriter/ musicians. Right there with Lucinda, Bonnie, Carole, Rikki. * 🙏🏻❤️💋*
This video gave me chills, especially at the end. It almost seems like she's shedding her shadow side from the past as she goes through her own metamorphosis. We see her embracing how life feels without all the guilt and shame she felt shackled to for so long. Phenomenal and gorgeous as always, Jessica. ♥️
Naji and Paisley, THANK YOU guys for actually starting the music right away! I'm so sick of having to wait through 3 minutes of 'narrative' to get to a friggin' song. Thanks again! Good work!
Will be remembered as one of the most underrated artists of the early 2000's and beyond, so unique, she plays the cute girl, but the songwriting is deadly, true Americana, will always be a fan
So pleased to hear some new music! Sounds like once again JLM had reinvented herself, I like this sounds and am looking forward to hearing the rest of the album.
I heard this song for the first time today, thanks to Cracker Barrel. This is a really good song. I don't consider this country. I thought it might be First Aid Kit. I googled it when I was in Cracker Barrel so I could listen later. So glad I did. A very cool song.
My baby is back! Come on Jessica! As much as I LOVE "Make My Head Sing's" rock feel, I'm ready for a new style. Your voice sounds beautiful on any track... rock... alternative... folk...anything
It's amazing how similar to the vocalist of Snail Mail she sounds; not to mention, the similarity in musical arrangements and, in particular, the guitar chords.
Loudermilk brought me here. I'm glad I stopped by.
Same bro, same

@@jayh5302 yesss I vibe to it when I’m closing alone😂
@@jayh5302 I guess Cracker Barrel has the same playlist everywhere
LOL me too, i came home one night after closing and trying everything to find this song
Holy shit this is why im here. That's so funny. I work night maintenance, and they dont turn of the music at night, so i here it all the time.

This song has an amazing vibe and hits all the right places. I love it every time I play it.

She has been through a lot of pain.

Loved her for years, she's amazing live ... cant believe she's not more well know.
Her last show in DC sold out, so I think her most recent album is bringing her to more peoples' attention.

Love these guitars
Feeling some serious '90s vibes here, and I like it.
Ang Shove-ink She is the female Kurt Cobain in my opinion.
W Lee I've always thought Emily Armstrong to be the female Kurt Cobain
Agreed she grew up in the era of music she would be huge in the 90's
Jessica is back! 💖💖💖
She's been through so many different looks - and they're all fantastic. I love how she reminds one of a country music star, but isn't one, thank God.
Can't wait for the album

Great music and a fantastic music video! Fresh concepts, love it!
What a fresh look and new sound from you, Jessica! Looking forward to the album on Sept. 29th.

So glad the sound from the last album is back and revamped. Can't wait to hear it all.

Thank you, 88.5 KCSN!!!
Your music is simply amazing!
Polished but still Jessica!
She got her teeth fixed, but we still hide our mouths. It comes out when us southerners speak. Tulsa radio misses you.
♥ IT JESS....SEE U IN PITTSBURGH!!!
2k likes is absurd. Thank god for Pandora when I needed it
My most played song of 2020
LOVe Love
She's so underrated
Absolutely loving the new stuff.
The front left tyre needs some air. Oh JLM is a delight and a consistently great songwriter/singer. Yip
i miss you so much, Casey.
She sounds like Mazzie Star...at least that's who she reminds me of. Great stuff

Hello
Heard she had a car crash. Hope she's recovering well and can come to England one day
BUT i deserve to occupy this space without feeling like i don't belong
This song fucking haunts me.
Loudermilk brought me here
Ayy Lmao
Stylist: Barf Queen.

Good song. Don't care much for the lyrics though.
