Discovered Tufte years ago. It has take business and science 10 long years to discover and implement his ideas.

As I religiously subscribe to some Tufte tenets... what he now needs to do is accept the current forms, as technology and efficiency moves at far more faster paces than he brought to bear 20+ years ago...., and prescribe guidance, since he cannot keep up (don't expect him to). He needs to accept and understand the QUALITATIVE... yet, efficient need for display. Fortune 50s to Fortune 5000s, their consultants, their advisors, their legal teams, their competitors, suppliers, intermediaries, tech managers still live and die by PowerPoint.

"Powerpoint sucks." He could not be further from the truth. What sucks is what people do with it. Simple slides that convey the storyline are incredibly powerful. For someone so caught up in how the production method doesn't matter and the content is the focus, to say that Powerpoint sucks is ludicrous. It is simply another tool. It can be a simple canvas if you approach it that way and focus on the content as Mr. Tufte suggests. One that can actually convey the content beautifully and elegantly. This is nothing more than a rallying cry and a rather silly one at that.

Reading ones presentation sucks too, but Tufte does it.

@gematt7 if people that made it dont know how to use it it means it sucks.
