  • How Michael Collins DEFEATED the British Empire in Ireland
Michael Collins holds a revered place in Irish history as a pivotal figure who played a defining role in the country's quest for independence. Collins' significance lies in his strategic brilliance and unwavering dedication to the cause of Irish Freedom. At one point he was one the most wanted man in Ireland and one of the most wanted men in the British Empire, with a bounty of nearly 730,000 Dollars in todays money on his head. As Director of Intelligence for the Irish Republican Army (IRA), he orchestrated a network of intelligence and counterintelligence operations that weakened British control throughout Ireland. His expertise in guerrilla warfare and his adept use of hit-and-run tactics undermined the British military's efforts, hastening negotiations for peace.
In his short lifetime he had fought the British Empire to a stalemate, negotiated the first Treaty of independence for Ireland and overseen its transition to a democracy.
Collins was born near Rosscarbery in County Cork 1890. He attended school and then worked as a local journalist, writing sports reviews before moving to London at the age of 15 to work for the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA).

Clearly a pioneer in counter intelligence. His picture is on the wall in Langley or at least on their website. Even the MI6 quote him

The greatest empire in modern history began unraveling thanks to this one genius and high Irish morals compared with British War criminals. Ironic that fools in England compare zelensky to Churchill.😂😂😂. Russia will lose cos purin is copying Churchill and Zelensky must have learnt our history when he visited in 2017. Britain today has learned from its mistakes and keeps its war crimes private. ie SAS

The 6 counties are not and never have been and never will be a part of Great Britain... Theyre a part of the island of Ireland and a part of the political entity that is The United Kingdom of Great Britain & Northern Ireland for the time being. Theres the Irish sea between Great Britain (the large island) and Ireland..... Basic stuff..

He didn't defeat the British Empire in Ireland, he only defeated it in the south; he would tell you that himself if he were alive today.

He defeated the strongest imperial power at its height. As soon as Ireland left the union, the british empire collapsed.

He humbled the british empire. Nobody has ever done that, alone, without outside help, only the Irish.
