Hi Paul, another superb teaching aid that's going to inspire many modellers myself included, I like the fact you have not kept to a railway theme well done Paul I can't wait for the next one. ......Andy
That's really beautiful, Paul. And what it does reinforce in my mind is that to create a realistic scene demands very well defined powers of observation, as well as the practical skills to produce something in three dimensions. In fact, just what you might expect of a painter. Great - let's have more!
Having a ‘bald’ hillside to add scenics to, your presentation today has inspired me to have a concerted attempt at creating my own theme. Thanks for the video and, for including the mistakes and, your method of solving and thus preventing repeats in the future. An all-round learning curve Paul. Un Salud. Gary
Hi Paul. What a scene! Impressed with your tenacity, patience, endeavour & what a result - outstanding! Inc your trials & tribulations ;-) well done looking wonderful. Cheers Iain
Thanks for compiling a very informative video which has been saved to my "Instructive/Educational File" because like you this is something I wish to tackle, using rein to make a water scene. You have taken the plunge first so I can learn. Just wondered if you had lost your mojo as you have been absent from our screens for a while. Glad to see your happy demeanour again. Cheers Paul. Mike
I have been putting out every 14 days but updates not how to's I am trying to increase efforts , I also have a lot each week on my painting channel, cheers Paul PS Mojo is full tilt lol
Nice job Paul ...... any tips of colour mixes for rocks ..... I struggle some times to get the shades I want so just wing it .... I’m in the process of finishing a tunnel rebuild and mod ...... fred
I want to build something like this but with a wood trestle to display my 4449 I have several kits to choose from to build it with. I just hope it looks as good as yours when I am done.
that looks fantastic paul, a very nice piece looks brilliant. going to look through more of your videos you are very talented😊 kind regards, Al.😊😊😊👍👍👍👍
Hi Mike, I'm new to model railway modelling and enjoyed watching this vid. The use of 'T' bags is a new one for me, I've been using herbs and spices, great idea and will be trying that one out on my next diorama. Cheers from Rick at Digon Alley Station. O.k. yes I'm a Harry Potter fan !!
Hi Paul. What do feel is the advantage of using dried natural twigs for the tree armatures instead of florists wire of various gauges like Luke has shown covered with material such as latex? Do you think it is a more natural look or is it just time and cost?
Hi Mike . If honest I use several methods. It is just that I uses natural amateurs on this project, They are not as robust as wire, but can look great if you get the right bits, cheers Paul
The coast of Oregon (USA) is overrun with the 'gorse'. The local rumor is a long time ago a wooden merchant ship with a bunch of 'decorative' pots (it was quite popular) wrecked and the shipwrecked gorse washed ashore and took hold. But it was well documented it was the favorite plant of the founder of Bandon Oregon... That plant was responsible for a very burnt down Bandon once that was fueled by gorse... There has been great efforts to contain the plant... but the coast I remember exploring as a child north of Bandon Oregon was overrun with it.
That is brilliant Paul, learning so much from you. I am sure you know but there is a guy in Oz called Luke Towan from Boulder Creek who has done some amazing dioramas. If you don't know him check out his chanel.
Looking good, but personally, I'd have put in the pretty, smooth stones you found in your driveway after the paint, and let the colors show through the water... ;-) But that's just me...
What a great how-to video! Excellent, clear voice-over, well shot and edited. Thanks for taking the time and effort. Inspiring!
