You know why I love this guys videos? Because even though he isnt doing something that makes a very large blip on the radar of popularity, you know he loves what he is doing and he passes that love on to his work. He is enthusiastic about classic wet shaving and he doesnt care who knows it!

I like these videos. The fact he shaves his entire face gives extra credibility. Since Ive started using straight razors, I cant take people beards seriously when it comes to shaving advice because they dont shave the hardest part, around the mouth and chin!
Just had my first shave with a safety razor...it was amazing! Thanks for all the pointers!
I lol'd at the "I know it looks ridiculous, but it's just you in the bathroom" part. Subtle humour, I love it Geo
my problems are over with these tricks, my shaving lasts much longer, continues to teach more videos geo, you help many people, a million thanks
You're like a father figure
Geo thank you so much for all these informative videos. For someone just getting into traditional shaving techniques, your videos have been extremely helpful!!!
This video has really helped me! Have always had a trouble spot on my jawline where whatever direction I shaved I could never get all the stubble off. Shaved today after watching this and your tips have worked a treat! Many thanks 😊
THANK YOU!!! I was all excited to get a safety razor and have enjoyed the close shave on the easy spot but was disappointed with those trouble spots. This looks to be the key. I thank you and my wife thanks you!!
My trouble spots (only shaved with DE razor (Rockwell 2c on R3) 3 times, once a week) are my Adam's apple & my right jawline where it rises under my ear. Every time, so far. Also, I'm not so great at across the grain, against the grain, & around my mouth (effectiveness of hair removal). Thank you for the tips! I'm getting the hang of it. I have noticed that my hair grows back about 2x faster than with an abominable multi-blade, so I should probably shave in the middle of the week also. I'm 15 going on 16, so I don't grow as much as you older men.
You'll be a PRO before you know it!
As a beginner to straight shaving, this is by far the most useful video I've seen on it. Thank you!
Hey Geo.. at another video you taught how to shave ATG and man.. lemme tell you.. I've been into DE Wet Shaving for last 3 years. I tried your lesson on my next shave and it turned out the best shave of my entire Wet Shaving Journey. Period. You helped me to solve my prob due to sensitive skin. Hats Off.. keep up the great work. Greetings from India.. 👍🖖🌸
Geo - this is probably your best video effort. Nice work man!
I'm glad I found you. I just ordered my first DE I have sensitive skin and this will be the job done properly !
Geo....I watched several of the vids and this is the first time I've seen you mention the locked wrist. Way helpful!
Awesome video. Just picked up your alum block from ShaveNation (along with a great brush) and was really happy with the price/quality/shipping of everything. Will definitely be buying from you again. Thanks a lot Geo.
Literally learned to wet shave from your video Geo, you're the man!!!
Thanks for teaching me some of the stuff my dad never did, Geo.
Geo your videos are always very informative and I check every day hoping you have uploaded another awesome video!!
Great tips!
I just started shaving with a DE razor. And have been having trouble on my jaw line and my neck. I will be adding the tips you show here tomorrow during my moring shave. Only, tried a couple blades so far, like the Personna Blues the best so far, but I have 6 more brands to try including some Feathers. I have a very thick beard so once I get better I am throwing in the Feathers.
Great video! Even if i have shaved with a safety and straight razor for some time, i still learn new things. Thanks Geo!
geofatboy is truly the man, especially when talking about JUST THE TIP!
Thank you for the tips! I learned how to straight razor and safety razor shave from watching countless hours of your videos. I can't imagine going back to normal shaving ever again, thanks!
+Kal Stoykov
Awesome Kal! Glad I could assist you!
Yet another great video, Geo! This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for posting this. :)
Thanks for the tips on Adam's Apples! I've had trouble with that and wasn't really sure what to do.
I'm not sure how I came upon your videos, but I am hooked. I had no idea that shaving videos existed, but I'm glad they do because I realize that I've been shaving improperly for about 25 years now. I've been using your 3 pass technique for a week now with a Gillette ProGlide, and I can't believe the difference..no irritation at all. My wife caught me watching your videos and thought I was weird...haha...getting a safety razor from your site this week. Haven't decided which one to buy yet.
I love geofatboy. Best shaving videos on the internet!
Great vid Geo! BTW, the Proraso "New" formulation you sent me is amazing!
Awesome video! You're the man Geo!
I am somewhat new to wet shaving and have trouble with those spots mentioned in the video. Thanks for the tips the were most helpful.
garrygmc
Glad to help Garry!
Hello Geo,and thanks for another great video about shaving difficult areas such as under the nose[still working on that one LOL] Adam apple, etc. In trimming my side-burns I'll approach it as you demonstrated it with the safety razor with my straight razor--all useful tips of getting that smooth, close shave. Thanks,Geo, for the video!!
Recent DE convert after decades of cartridge razors. Very helpful tips. ?Us old guys (61) have craggy faces and neck jowls. Lots of challenging areas to shave. Thanks Geo.
Thanks!
Great video Geo as expected!
Those were some seriously awesome shaving tips! 👍
Thanks so much MK!
Blessed with a large Adam's Apple. I never heard it put that way... but it makes me feel better 😊
Always look on the bright side!
Hey thanks man. Appreciate your videos on how to properly lather up and shave with a safety razor. All the other tutorials showed how NOT to shave, ended up with cuts and what not.
Quick question - I don't seem to be getting a great lather in a mug. A little bit more moisture on the brush or what? Also getting some stray hairs coming off my badger brush. Not sure if that's normal or not the first 10-15 times you use it.
Subbed!
I'm no expert, but I think the brush and soap can make all the difference. I've tried inexpensive soaps that lather easily, and others where the lather dissipates too quickly on the face. I also have one brush that seems nearly indestructible, and another where half the hair has fallen out of it. I recommend an Omega or Semogue brush, and inexpensive, but effective, Arko or Palmolive soap, just for starters. You may find things that work better for you, but I am having success with these products.
Excellent advice! I am definitely going to try some of the techniques. Thanks.
Thanks for good advice. Appreciate your videos and your time.
Thanks for the video. I'm 20 now, and I've been shaving (and by shaving I mean shaving like a 20-30 year old) since I was 14, and have been really frustrated about those problem spots.
Again, thanks for making these video's Geo.
great tips as just started de shaving with my 1966 gillette adjustable, whats the block you used so can pull skin? thanks jon from Ireland
Excellent information and description. Thanks.
JUST THE TIP!
This was of so much help
Can't thank you enough !
Glad it helped!
This is a NECESSARY video. Thanks!!
Thanks! That did help a lot. Now I need to go buy an alum block from shave nation.
gotta love that alum block! Really helps with the adams apple.
Love the J hook technique. Deffinitely. helps.
Good Morning! Fantastic Video of tips. I have been using a safety razor now since Nov. and want to transition to a straight razor. Can you recommend a shavette or move right into a real straight razor?
Geo, Another great very helpful video! I was looking at the Feather straight razors on Shavenation and I can't decide between a folding vs. Japanese style? Any guidance you can offer on the pros and cons of each style?
Also - one more question, I have always wanted an old Gillette adjustable, in your opinion which shaves better a Fatboy or a Slim?
What if you have raised moles? Should you go over them lightly or try to go around?
I am using a Websters "Mangnanese" Steel anchor brand. Its a cheapy that a friend let me use to learn. If I stick with it I intend to invest in something expensive. My friend sharpened it for me and I make sure to strop it before and after shaving, as recommended. So I think it is sharp enough. Yes, it shaves fairly smooth down the cheeks and my across the grain is fairly good also.
That's the most sensitive part for a lot of men especially since the skin needs to flex and stretch when you move your head, I found that three things were keeping me from a good neck shave, 1) using warm water seemed to harsh on my skin, but don't go to cold either, 2) the razor was at abad angle to my skin because of the contours and tugged way too much, and 3) that hair grows in a slightly different direction so i had to change angles all over again, just keep practicing, hope this helps.
As always sir, fantastic tutorial! My face thanks you!
Great shaving tips!
Love your videos, I went to safety razor shaving, will not go to open razor as I have severe osteoarthritis in my fingers
all safety razor newbies should watch this
Nice G-shock. I love the shave nation website, lots of cool stuff. I have to say the Bluebeards Revenge, USA Dreadnaught is probably the best shaving cream I have ever used, I do love mitchell's wool fat though, and Taconic is VERY good.
How I can learn to use a straight razor? Do u suggest to start with a shavette before?
Another great video! Thank you! "The cat's meow"? Geo - you ARE old school! :-)
7:12 Elvis - The King was a steamroller (Steamroller Song) tho, would love him rolling over the cartridge razor 😂😂
Geo! when did you pick up the Tradere? how do you like it? I have the handle, and I like the way it *spins* from the fat-knurl ring just above the base of the handle
hi mate, love the vids, but having trouble having upper lip, keep cutting it to bits when i do upward pass, any help appreciated
Great video! Quick couple of questions for the straight razor people out there, When shaving just below the nose, will you aim the razor edge upwards and scrape downwards? Or what is the best way to do it? Thank you!
Depends iv seen people do both.
You make great videos, bro
I just switched to a DE razor from the Gillette Fuzion
Great Vid
Nice vid Geo. Subbed to your channel - can't wait for next vid!

Thanks Lord!
do you have any videos on how to get rid of shaving bumps?
Hi Geo I would like to know your thoughts aboute witch hazel, a video would be nice :)
Hi Geo, may I ask a question please? I want to buy a straight razor, just one. Which one do you recommend? Or, if you can have only one straight razor, which one would that be? For everyday use, regardless of the price.
Great tips, thank you.
How do you handle shaving over a mole? I’m afraid i’m gonna slice it off cuz i can’t see it with the shaving cream on my chin
Nice Tradere razor. Do you compared with Muhle R41 agresive? Thanks Geo.
Which one is your favorite shaving soap please?
Anyone have tips for the indents on either side of my Adam’s apple, on the sides of my neck? Can’t seem to get these smooth. Going one pass WTG for now
Quick question. I did my 19th shave with a straight razor yesterday. I understand that it takes about 100 shaves to be proficient. How long does it take to conquer the last pass over the chin and mustache? I am simply unable to get it. Also, I am not getting that close a shave at all. Am I doing something wrong?? Thanks for the help. BTW, great videos. Very informative.
hi GEO,
what was the first DE razor you showed in this video? thanks
Thank you. Really helpful.
Thank you very much for the information!
2:00 to reality, oh there goes gravity, oh there goes rabitt
Geofatboy - Would you please do a review of the Tradere razor I see in your hand?! That would be lovely! Thanks Sir!
So... I’ve got a problem. Every time I go to get my right jaw with the straight razor, I keep getting some razor burn. I am right handed shaving my right side with my right hand. When I do my left side with my left hand it comes out very cleanly. Am I just applying too much pressure? I do feel like I need to lather again on my face so many times because it takes so long. Sometimes I don’t because of time issues and it starts feeling like it’s tugging which, I know is no good. When the razor glides across my left side effortlessly it’s so easy and clean and it never tugs until I get to my chin or jaw areas. I also feel like there are parts of my chin area that are almost naturally flat and just plain easier to get at and it gets sooo much closer when I stretch it super flat. I sort of have like “jowls” that are very tough to get flat. I feel like a facial contortionist trying to get those spots lol
I like the stylo.... the guy has good taste!!
Great video thanks !
great tips Thank You
is there a straight razor you can recomend for a starter?
Thank you for great videos!!!
+Egor Tyurkin
Thank you, for thanking me!
What lather brush do you recommend?
dangit and now i just ran that vibrating 15 blade cartridge thing over with a steamroller. for those little areas I actually use single blade disposable shavers that I have for bodyhair. Usually works a treat for that too
I'm 15 and have facial hair coming through and im thinking of growing a moustache, should i keep shaving for a year or so to let the hair develop or just do it straight away?
