    I thought you had spotted a Musk Oxen ! Always time for a coffee. What a view, just hope that snow doesn’t get any deeper. Must be hard going on the knees. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us. Mountain Hares and Snow Buntings in one day….Wow !! Espen do you ever remember the two figures sat on what looked like a seat they were on a hill at the side of the ski centre I think they must have frozen away. Great video

    Very nice images! The eastern cottontails near me will sometimes come towards you before they go in a different direction.

      Thanks a lot Simon! Not sure about the camo, it might help get closer, but I think mostly the hares know you’re there and it’s about moving slowly and letting them get comfortable with you. Would be interesting to try though. A great Christmas and new year to you too 🎄🎉

    Hei hei Espen, godt aa se Scotnorsk wildlife:D
    Great footage and photos, very envious of the wildlife in Scotland! All we have down south are pigeons, seagulls and grey squirrels, but they make for good subjects. At least the underwater critters are good :)
    Keep it up, I like seeing this.
    I'm a D500 underwater photographer, but I also use it for land based wildlife. Looking at the OM-1 + 300 PRO as a secondary unit because of pro capture, weight and the insane IS with the sync.

    That was fantastic, but I have 2 questions. I totally understand the concept of camouflage when stalking wild animals and birds, but a red hat when everything around you is white? And secondly Espen, I would love to know your camera settings for the pictures of the Hare? You normally put the settings on the screen with the pictures, because I find it almost impossible to choose the correct settings with photographing in the snow, and I live in Poland and we get a lot of the white stuff here!

    • @EspenHelland
      @EspenHelland  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a lot 🙂 the hares are dichromatic so they don’t actually see red, it’s just a darkish colour, though I stand out with dark colour clothing in the snow anyways. I’m not actually trying to hide from the hares they see me, I just want to make myself small and moving slowly so as not to scare them.
      I’ve posted the photos on my website with settings, there’s a link in the description 🙂
