Next up is the worst of the bunch. Someone had to be on bottom and the I-211 lives there. Owns the whole block in fact. I forgot how much I was glad to be done with it :)

I agree it's the worst T9 MRF, but I like it. Your descriptions of the good and the bad are spot on. You've just got to enjoy what it does and that doesn't sound true for you. It's a helper plane, not a carry plane. With all the high-damage guns, you have to get crit chance off your sights in order to maximize damage would be the only thing I've seen. Next time you flight with Vee, play this while he's playing a dogfighter. I think you'll find it a different experience.
You are right, a true support aircraft.

I finally got used to the thing near the end of the grind. I've learned to play it with no expectations and for derp fun. When I do that it's actually enjoyable. When I try to win I hate it lol

Ouch, harsh review. But I don't think your wrong. I think it is play style dependent, you are right it's an all or nothing plane, and you feel the nothing when you are grinding this line. Add in the fact that stock this thing is back to a short range derpy plane. But I wouldn't underestimate the maneuverability of this plane or the I-215, for the tier it is reasonable and I prefer a balanced equipment setup for turning to get on those planes that blow past you thinking your a low threat.
I felt more comfortable playing it when I was grinding it. Its one of those planes that has a specific playstyle and I can't just 'hop into it' and feel completely synced with it.
I do remember at the end of my grind I was like -yeah, this is ok. But going back to it was a struggle

No doubt, it can be played well. But of the six Tier IX multiroles it's at the bottom of the heap

It's such a pity that this line at tier 8-10 isn't actually the fastest and/or has the highest altitude, especially the Su-9, which basically uses rip-off German Jumo engines. They're supposed to be the commie versions of the 262 jets, almost heavy-fighters. Remember the F7U and BV. P215 at tier 10, they have double engines too, and very good speed and altitude for a multirole, not to mention a shit-load of rockets and bombs. Compared to them these high-tier Soviet multiroles are suffering from such a bad balance and modeling in this game.
I'm 40k away from the Su-9, is it just as bad?

It grows on you. To be honest, the I211 grows on you more since you have to grind it longer you get used to it's nuances more. I remember at the end of my grind thinking "the I211 isn't terrible" and it's not, it's just the worst at this tier lol.
And the Su-9 is probably worst at it's tier too. All the turny bits you love about the Yaks before it disappear. The gun layout is not bad but the Su-9 and I-211 are slugs compared to their counterparts. Not until tier X does this line become viable again
That whole line plays the same way. They're all too slow. They all have too low a ceiling. They all have big guns. The variable is the maneuverability and the Su-9 and I-211 suffer the most there.
Still better than the su-9. But only just

Stock, this plane is an absolute piece of junk. Spec'd is a whole different story. I have the (all ultimate) gunsight, skin, engine, and gas-operated. And that alone makes a huge difference because you're popping off more rounds (say 71 a min. as opposed to the stock 60) and I have the 15% cooldown rate which allows you to throw beams-of-derp everywhere. Spec it out and do another vid.
And the I-215 is crazy good. I have her spec'd in the same way at the 211.

2.0 f*cked this line so much, is not even a joke... To me is heads down the worst line in the game and only comparable to the P-47 line... There are so many good snipers in the game that this line is a meme... Even if you dont own any premiums the best sniper in the game is a silver plane! The Ta 152 (with Yak-9 being close second if you like the soviet snipe cannos). You like snipers? Save your sanity and play Ta 152/ Yak-9(U)/Tu-1/ BV P.203/Ho 229...they are top tier make ton of money and ton of fun to play...
Well I never played before 2.0 but I can agree with this line falling off a cliff at tier VIII. I'm still looking forward to the I-215 tho. It is a shame that the premium I-260 is so much better than the tech tree Su-9.
When I first started playing WoWp I was watching a gut who just started playing too. He chose this line of all lines to be his first. He loved it thru tier VII and then go so frustrated he quit lol.
I took the more pragmatic Spitfire line as my first tech line and only went down this line when most others were completed 🤣
