I live in the Atlanta area, being a classic car nut all my life I have been to Gateway and Streetside classics. They both have huge buildings and what i see as huge overhead. They have many vehicles that are way overpriced. I get it that everyone wants to get the most out of their cars but you have to be reasonable also. I could see paying top dollar for a nice restored car but from what i saw most are not in that good of condition in person. I would recommend anyone to see the cars themselves before purchasing. But i love seeing all the classics and collector cars. Happy shopping
I don't understand why people buy cars at these highly overpriced dealerships? Go out and find one through a private seller "make sure you do your due diligence before you purchase a classic car". You can find these same cars maybe even better for a lot cheaper that way. Just my two cents.
Well in my case and I think in the case of many other sellers that use these types of services, I do not want strangers in my house nor do I know the details about these guys or the markets but I don't need people nosing around my storage garage and then asking about every other car and truck that I have. Beyond that I travel a lot so I'm hesitant to schedule a firm time and day to meet and that Drags me down more than my paying a 10% commission or whatever to these outfits for the convenience.. I hope that explains why at least some people use gateway and I've been happy with them.
@@richards9504Damn dude! Just pull the car outside or if in front of your residence is still too paranoid for you, meet a would be buyer at a predetermined place you two agree on. Make the appointment a firm set time. My Dad was ultra paranoid about having people over too, but paying way more, or trying to get such a high price, just drives people away from these places. I typically don't even watch these ad videos for gateway or several other ultra high priced car malls. Waste of time!

Mom had a Lincoln continental in the 80's. It had a whole lot of engine under that hood and the seats where soft as butter leather. But it was as big as the Titanic! It put the T in tuna boat. Very smooth ride and 8 track tape. Yah baby. And it could hall ass when dad got behind the big ass steering wheel. We could sneek half the neiborehood in the trunk at the drive in movies! But where would you park one these days? I learned to drive in that car and a stick shift Bobcat. If i lined up the "hood ornament" that looked like a site from a gunner machine gun to the edge of the road or the fog line then i knew i was smack in the middle of my lane. I can't remember the last time i saw a hood ornament on a car.
the continentals are huge but still very impressive cars even today. I have to agree with you on the hood ornaments not many big ones now even on the restored classic cars.
They have affordable classic cars still? Like these cars? Not project cars but all don and ready to go? I've looked a few years ago in the papers and i was priced out. Never looked again as it just breaks my hart to see beautys i can't afford. Maybe I'll look again. Is the old auto trader a good place to look? I used to love looking in that one but like i said after a while i was just bummed out because of the want it can't have it effect it gave me.
To the person who said that Gateway does not set the prices, the seller does. That is 100% incorrect. I have a friend that has a car with them in Detroit. He wants 15k for the car. Gateway has it listed for 23k. Gateway asks you what you want for the car, they then mark the car up giving them lots of room to move on the car so the owner gets their money and Gateway also makes their money.

Hmmmm, $27,000 is not a cheap car for most people. When you're talking a cheap classic car, you're talking cars priced under $10,000 and there are many of them out there even though many need a little TLC but are still in nice condition.
Check a Chinese or any Asian driving one of those cars, they will look weird for sure, that is an American car, the Asian car market is not American style at all. Please get a video about it. Also Filipinos are under the Asian category, we need great engines, comfort and space.

Everything near or around, close by, including stores, restaurants near east side gateway st louis is 10 to 20 percent overpriced. I guess they have to pay for the massive hill they landscaped over the trash dump they have in that area....(people who live there know all about this....huge rats everywhere...ask them at the pilot/j trk stop and the raceway .
