Glad to see you back, buddy. Your videos came to my life at the right moment (when I felt the lowest and hardly could go through my exams). I swear your content was the push I needed and I ended up having the best grades I ever had. This semester I'm trying to have a better school/personal life balance though.
Anyway, thank you for your content :)

Dang. That is one of a hell difficult task. I think there are many important lessons you cannot just sum up. Enjoy the relaxing entertainment in an informative way. Cheers

I don't think there was a single video I could say that helped me. But all his content surrounding school and Harvard (and specially about having a passion) made me want to do better. So what I did to get through my studying was doing breaks watching his videos, instead about worrying or crying about my situation. It made me feel better and not feel like I was wasting time because John shared some real wisdom. And I'm a 25 year old in grad school.

Good to have you back, Interesting video because it makes me think about how humans react to different situations, and why they act that way. I'd love to have a longer video on how YTube changed you, as far as the numbers, how you reacted to others etc, as you spoke. I think we can all learn from others experiences, especially when we don't feel we will ever be in that exact situation ourselves, but can probably relate to it on a different level.
Anyway, you're busy, and if you're looking for a subject to speak on, that's my take.

John, you’ve helped change my life. It’s my first year in college and so many opportunities have come my way because of your videos. I’ve learned how to study more effectively, stay mentally fit, and I’ve also leaned to love reading new self-improvement books. I’m currently reading books by John C. Maxwell to develop leadership skills. I’ve also been set up with many meetings, so my networking opportunities are bright right now. I hope you read this. Because of your insight, my life really has changed. Thank you, John.

I've always been pretty unorganized when it comes to learning. So many things in John's content resonate with me, and because of your channel I: Read the book "Flow" and really connected with it, started using noise canceling headphones playing rain sounds and was instantly able to lock in and focus for long periods, look at each day with goals and objectives in mind, and remember that its the growth journey...not the day...I congratulate you on putting out content that isnt just entertaining, but impacts peoples lives.

Glad you're back John! I've just started my first year at university, and your videos have been very useful for the preparation of this new phase. By the way, in the blur that is the background of the video I see you have a whiteboard and some markers. I can't tell for sure, but it looks like the markers are placed with the tip facing up towards the ceiling. My tip is to turn them upside down so the tip faces the floor to prevent them from drying out quickly! Thanks to this tip (given to me by a former coworker at a fast food restaurant) my markers don't die quickly anymore.
Thanks for the great videos, cheers to another great school year!

Thank you for everything you are doing a great job. I started maintaining a growth book and it really helps me. Though sometimes its very hectic to follow set schedule in life but it definitely makes you a better person. And I really wanted to say - please don't quit posting these videos, even if you post with lesser frequency over certain periods of time. I always look forward to your content and I'm sure others do too - and your videos have helped my own perspective and journey towards my own personal growth. I also truly appreciate the quality of your videos - sound and video, and also the quality of the message, even in the shorter videos. Keep posting, whenever time allows you, and keep growing. Cheers. Bianca.

I totally agree. Being self-critical sounds to be the only way to grow mentally, psychologically, physcially. But personally, I don't feel happy about my growth when I am self-critical. Like you said, I can still grow when I am self-aware. And, I actually feel happier about my changes compare to those changes made when I am self-critical.

"The times when I am self critical are the times when I am limiting myself and the times when I am self aware, but accepting, are the times when I open myself up to really, uninhibited growth."
I absolutely love that how true that is, John. I love that you have been focusing more on the present and the process of becoming a happier person. I am with you 100% of the way man. I hope you continue to share your growth with this community you have tapped into. Peace and blessings man, have a great year at Harvard.

Hi John. I would like to particularly thank you for making these excellent videos. Your channel means a lot to me when I was fighting my depression. I am an international student in one of the ivy league colleges. I was so stressful during the past 7 months of my college life. It was just tough, and I was feeling awful and I was not motivated to do anything in 90% of the time. I was close to the edge of dropping out of college even though I was having decent grades. The facts were I didn't wanna talk, I was making no friends, I was feeling empty and aimless inside, and I knew all of these facts were not good at all. I spent most of my time playing video games, masturbating, and cramming for the courses I did not enjoy at all. I did try to make my life more meaningful so that I began to read, to sing, and to learn Spanish. I read cognitive sciences and some educational essays and was invited to be a TA for a Physics course. I began to smile to people and say hi to the familiar faces even though I did not even know their names, and I did get to hang out with some of them later on. I gradually got to see the world from a better perspective, and I just began to join organizations and did part-time jobs, looking forward to making other people's lives better. It was just amazing how I passed over all of these pain and stress, and got to be a functional human being again. I did not dare to ask for help in the mental health center because of the potential risk of owning any mental disease record. All I wanted to say is that it was definitely realistic to fight against depression, even on your own. It was not easy but yes, you can!

It would be great if you could find the way to get the perfect balance to keep doing this and that it doesn't take you to much of your studies and life. Hi John, this is a senior student from Guangzhou, China. I've watched some of your videos and basically approve your efficient, organized, self-disciplined life. For the three years I've spent in my University, which is a mediocre one in China, I tried my utmost to jump out of the average... some of my peers are wasting their time in clubs or on video games, some of them are bounded by the pressure assignments, applying jobs, or post graduate recommendation, and failed to think about their life. However, you are one of the differences, I'd love to know more about your core values, your view of life, and share mine with you. I'd love to know more about the excellent people I'm going to work or compete with in the future, in the international stage. If you don't mind, we can write email to each other like once in two weeks. please consider it well, I bet it will be fun.

U said that we should enjoy the process not only the achievement. But, here in college, I enjoy the process of learning itself and idk why it just got the same. I hadn’t achieved a great GPA ); and rn, I feels like I’m asking to myself about what was the meaning of the progress if we hadn’t get a good achievement
