I just bought this trike, and I really appreciate this video. The bike shop salesman made it look easy and didn't explain about lining up the wheels so the rubber thingie slips into that slot. I couldn't figure out why it was out of line and would not engage. Now I know. Thanks for your simple but thorough explanation.
I would very much like to NOT have to roll it onto its side for folding, because, as you have pointed out, you need some soft ground to not scratch it. Otherwise, I love it and don't fold it often.
Problem: Gekko fx 26 with fenders, front lights and barend shifters - no turning around :) for me. Best I can do is flip it to its side. Thanks for this vid though, its far more practical than the 5s flip thing - even if you understand german.
@@cynthiagodfrey8603 It will still fold, but its more difficult. I folded it multiple times for transport on holidays. The barend shifters got scraped a bit from the asphalt because its still an awkward movement - but possible. hth. You can see on 1:00 that the bike is toppled over, the barendshifters sit/tick on top of the barendhandle-ends - you cannot do this like this if you have those.

So if you have fenders and lights it won't fold up like in the video?
Cynthia, Most fenders and lights will not prevent folding. You will have to be careful not to bang them up as you fold it.

Yes, the 5s flip fold is, shall we say, optimistic? ;-)
