The Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System is an 82.15 km (51.05 mi) long,[4][5][6] under-construction, semi-high speed rail corridor connecting Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. It is one of the three rapid rail corridors planned under Phase I of the Regional Rapid Transport System (RRTS) project of National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). With a maximum speed of 180 km/h (111.85 mph), the distance between Delhi and Meerut will be covered in less than 60 minutes. The project will cost ₹30,274 crore (US$4.0 billion) and will have 24 stations including two depots at Duhai and Modipuram.
NCRTC initiated the civil construction work on the 17 km (11 mi) long priority section between Sahibabad and Duhai to meet the target of opening it for regular operations by March 2023.[8] The civil construction work was initiated within three months of the foundation stone ceremony. The entire 82 km (51 mi) long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, however, will be operational by June 2025.
Following the Galwan Valley skirmish on 15 June 2020, there were calls by Swadeshi Jagran Manch for the Government to cancel the bid of a Chinese company related to the transit system. The trains are being built by Alstom's manufacturing plant in Savli, Gujarat.

This is one of the reason why the property prices are not that high when compared to Mumbai even when Delhi has more people and the average income is almost the same. Ek baat samjhao. I agree RRTS is a necessity, many other countries are doing so and have done it in the past. But in India, Vande Bharat trains can run at 180km/hr. The RRTS is a concept like Airport Express. Less stations, straighter lines. The speed of RRTS should be more than the fastest train (Vande Bharat 180 km/hr) and slower than Bullet train (320 km/hr). 225 km/hr is ideal tab toh kuch baat ho, koi fayeda hai. It looks like this:
    1. Tram/bus intercity 30-60 km/hr
    2. Local train City centre with suburbs 60-80 km/hr
    3. Metro mostly underground or above, unobstructed connectivity 60km/hr
    4. RRTS Satellite cities should be 225 km/hr
    5. Vande Bharat Intra-city 180 km/hr
    6. Bullet train mostly metropolitan and cosmopolitan cities 320 km/hr
    7. Plane 900 km/hr

india needs rrts just because it will transfer people only not goods, in high costs ticket , but in parallel if you thing two more fast train lines = 2 normal train lines already have betn meerat & Ghaziabad + 2 more fast train lines betn meerat & Ghaziabad which will support people also fast & emergency goods , these train systems will be connected with metro systems in both ends meerat & Ghaziabad. these type rail systems will cost half that of rrts system cost , so some people & companies can't eat back table funds, so indian govt need such rrts to get money through back table for them, if gatiman express can run delhi & agra at160 km/h then why not for meerat & delhi ...possible ? because back table money problem , so conclusion - need rrts transit rail for back table money , even if it will not help people travel & cost wise. thank you.

I think this project is good but Govt should make DMRC involved in NCRTC too. Like take China for example they have every district authority every organ of Govt involved unlike here where one authority is doing something without knowledge of other which was addressed by PM while launching GatiShakti. DMRC, DTC should be involved to provide last mile connectivity and to collide their projects instead of competing with each other which happened in Chennai with MRTS and Metro is happening in Bengaluru too with Metro and Suburban rail. Like the Rohtak Rrts and Faridabad rrts should start from where metro ends or something otherwise both will suffer

Everyday we are getting news of new projects in these above mentioned cities/states.
Rest of all are very less in news I think most of projects goes to these above mentioned places.
But at the time of tax collection India gets bigger from J&K to Kanyakumari. I am not a Supporter of left wing but this is true that most of the states are ignored when it comes on Infra Boost(like metro etc.) etc.
And Note- I don't live in Bihar/Jharkhand/West Bengal.
And Government should focus on building HIGH QUALITY WIDER ROADS with GREENRY and Government or any government body/NGOs should not interfere when it comes to build large skyscrapers(If all precautions are followed), cleanliness, Stop Importing GARBAGE from western Countries(Yeah, this true Govt. Import garbage for Money from western countries), Educate people on Recycling, Ban Jarda, Vimal etc.
