I'll be honest , im still waiting for a sequel to Stronghold 2 , Not stronghold 3 but a sequel that continues the story of that game and has the same mechanics where you can see inside of buildings and even put units in them But this is still amazing and i hope it does great
They probably leave it out for the Stronghold Crusader definitive edition, which is a shame, because I much prefer the tone and speed of the original and a skirmish mode would have a really great edition for a proper version 2.0 of the game :/
No because it would have been huge news. Maybe if the DE is successful and enough people ask for it they add it as DLC. Hopefully people give feedback about quality of life things and contrast, design of units, scribe, buildings, environments. That’s what really matters right now IMO to get the foundation right. Maybe like AOE 2 DE they can add features to the game over time.
I'm not just giving feedback. I'm thanking you guys for giving me an amazing time since 2002. My first build: pentium 4 with my giant crt and i just had a blast. I DL'ed the Demo and I am sure to buy this once it drops
Really hope there will also be substantial gameplay/game mechanical changes such as computer AI behavior, improvements in ressource gathering and perhaps new building options for your castle to truly make it a DE version and not just a beautification of the original game.
I would love to see all the amazing potential that this game has to come to reality. Not only upgraded visuals. For example bigger maps, easy multiplayer similar to AoE 2 or M&M Heroes 3, more units, more buildings, enemy lords, trees, bushes, more animals and other map editor items. Of course also updated market sell all, buy 5/10/25/50/100 buttons and so on. I would pay good money for this
This is a not a remake but a remaster, which is by definition just "beautification" + quality of life improvements, like better UI, addition of hotkeys, etc. Therefore, no gameplay changes.
I've played an awful lot of Stronghold Crusader HD and watched a lot of videos about it and I still play it to this day. When I saw that the Definitive edition was coming my eyes lit up. I hope to have as much fun with it as I did with the HD. Go guys you are great. 😍
One of my all time favourites! Always wanted it to have a touch up. Ultrawide resolution itself is awesome in the demo. The trails were the best part of crusader. Cant wait to play them in sh1! More excited about this game than any new triple a game that is coming. Thank you Firefly!
Just played the demo and it was my first time playing this stronghold! Honestly its beautiful and I love it! Specially the songs which are all the same as Stronghold 2 and voices as well! Seems like home! Looking forward to get it! + Apparently the ox glitch and worker duplication glitch are still working! (Found it online lol)

Please like so firefly can see this. Heres the most important feedback in my opinion: 1)Holding the left click and scrolling around the minimap feels very buggy and hard to control 2)Clicking on peasants that are not assigned to a job plays a random speech and not what is written on screen. 3)You could use the worker's portraits from crusader 1 when clicking on them which are coloured and better looking. These are black and white and more dull. Would be great if you switch those with crusader 1's which are basically the same but in colour and better looking. 4)Clicking on goods on the stockpile doesnt redirect me to the market so i can sell them. I have to go to the market and click on the category and choose the goods to do so. 5)Wish I could zoom in and out using my mouse wheel so I can play at the zoom ratio I want and not the only 3 options which are too zoomed in or too zoomed out for my liking. 6)Some movement animations dont look natural like the original. for example the priest or the swordsmen walking look like reverse moonwalking. 7)The AI taunt video messages disappear before the text disappears. They used to stay on screen until the text vanished in the original which was better imo. 8)Choosing colour would be also great for this or crusader 1 de. 9)Clicking on the peasants in the tutorial doesnt produce any sound of them talking. 10)I remember there was an option to lower the walls without grounding the buildings like the space option so i can see better how much stone there is gathered in my quaries or to get a better view of something. Not sure if that was part of Stronghold aswell but im mentioning it too. 11)The scribe could use some work as well to look more natural like the original Thanks for reading

The most important thing for me is that you finally remove the heightlimit in the editor sothat castles of Middleearth in the First Age are finally possible (for example Angband or Gondolin). The second important thing is the removal of the unitlimit. 🏆
Never loose the faith what a great update for a title of cult for all the pc gamers to give to stronghold the love this game deserves. Im dreaming in a stronghold crusader remaster. I think was and still the game of the saga for how the production based in core green positions, the music and other mechanics than can give us immersion and detail that we can appreciate like no other game.

I like the graphic revisions, but the new monk is too much of a "remake" for me personally. My reaction when I saw the new monk for the first time was: "who is that?"
Okay: - bigger maps available. 800x800 and 1600x1600 - all sides of every building renderded so when you rotate the map builidngs WON'T rotate with it - more bushes and small trees to be placed. One can only place "mature" trees in map edit - bridges to pass the rivers. Like tree bridge, stone bridge. All destroyable. - Some more options with churches, apotecary, wells etc. - all small videos for every builiding like when you click on bakery and you see the process. I loved that.
One thing I forgot to mention in the survey: I hope the old profile/name gimmicks will come back, like the lord vader joke. Not many people might find/try it these days but if it's not too much trouble.. It would be fun, especially when showing someone like a son/daughter or nephew/niece a blast from the past

Is it possible to add an Auto-Queue for the barracks? By a right click on a unit in the barracks, this unit will be produced every 2-3 seconds dependend whether there is enough gold and weapons to do so. In the options for the game you should be able to enable/disable this function. Thanks for reviving this great game!

Hey, great job on Definitive Edition! Don't forget to add Windowed Borderless mode. Maybe you should also incorporate the entire Crusader game into this game since they're basically the same?
Seeing the release of the Stronghold DE gives me hope for crsauder as well, but i hope you dont forget about stronghold 2. The best in the series in terms of an actual castle sim. Everything from the lords buildings to being able to torture criminals made it so special. Watching your lord go about his civilian duties was so much fun, from him attending to his feasts, dances or even attending mass. The campaign having multiple missions in each was a really interesting mechanic too, along with the cutscenes
New player here, I never knew about the stronghold franchise, started with Warlord, and I must say im very impressed. Especially the Warlord system, love it! The voice acting is also 10/10 Question, have you thought about adding a layer into your game for the future, that adds dynamic diplomacy? As in, the factions have the option to make peace, sue for peace by setting conditions, get into a trade agreement,..etc That alone would increase massively replayability and open up a whole new layer of gameplay options. Imagine you are dominating your rival faction, and instead of wiping them out completely you force them into give you 50% of everything they make, including gold, tribute and take the lord's daughter as wife (Add dynasty family of the lord to the game, it adds so much value).. Anyways, I just played too much Crusader Kings 3
in my feedback I forgot to report 1 bug at the end of characters dialogues before the mission when you do not skip by clicking the mouse music will be stuck with you forever before starting the actuall gameplay and you will not have discription of the mission said for you

I am a passionate PC player. I pay a lot of money for top tier equipment to enjoy all the good stuff, like Raytracing, 4K@144Hz gaming, maximum graphics and so on. But almost every day I go back to medieval England to enjoy a few games of Stronghold (Crusader). After a hard day at work, it is like coming home and sitting down after standing for hours. Back in the day, I played the Crusader Demo and got lost in it. I wished for the full game for my birthday and actually got it as a present. That was the day when I started to LOVE Stronghold. I will never forget the day I held the CD/DVD box in my hands, installing it and spending weeks of playing. Stronghold is perfect. Pls put all you passion and love in the DE! MUCH LOVE!!!
please, please, please let there be Crusader style AI battles. I replayed the one Pig mission a million times because it was the only way to play castle v castle back in the day.

I haven't played the demo yet ( and I will) but if it's a definitive edition, then there should be new towers, mabey some new units, like: axemen and light cavalry. However if the visuals are being improved, then the #1 thing on the priority list should be, BUILDINGS ROTATING CORRECTLY.

One thing I forgot to mention in the survey: I hope the old profile/name gimmicks will come back, like the lord vader joke. Not many people might find/try it these days but if it's not too much trouble.. It would be fun, especially when showing someone like a son/daughter or nephew/niece a blast from the past
What about increased Troop limits? If anything, at least let us have more than the original 1500, at least 5000.

Is it possible to add an Auto-Queue for the barracks?
By a right click on a unit in the barracks, this unit will be produced every 2-3 seconds dependend whether there is enough gold and weapons to do so.
In the options for the game you should be able to enable/disable this function.

Seeing the release of the Stronghold DE gives me hope for crsauder as well, but i hope you dont forget about stronghold 2. The best in the series in terms of an actual castle sim. Everything from the lords buildings to being able to torture criminals made it so special. Watching your lord go about his civilian duties was so much fun, from him attending to his feasts, dances or even attending mass. The campaign having multiple missions in each was a really interesting mechanic too, along with the cutscenes
New player here, I never knew about the stronghold franchise, started with Warlord, and I must say im very impressed. Especially the Warlord system, love it! The voice acting is also 10/10
Question, have you thought about adding a layer into your game for the future, that adds dynamic diplomacy? As in, the factions have the option to make peace, sue for peace by setting conditions, get into a trade agreement,..etc That alone would increase massively replayability and open up a whole new layer of gameplay options. Imagine you are dominating your rival faction, and instead of wiping them out completely you force them into give you 50% of everything they make, including gold, tribute and take the lord's daughter as wife (Add dynasty family of the lord to the game, it adds so much value)..

I forgot to report 1 bug
at the end of characters dialogues before the mission when you do not skip by clicking the mouse music will be stuck with you forever before starting the actuall gameplay and you will not have discription of the mission said for you

I am a passionate PC player. I pay a lot of money for top tier equipment to enjoy all the good stuff, like Raytracing, 4K@144Hz gaming, maximum graphics and so on.
But almost every day I go back to medieval England to enjoy a few games of Stronghold (Crusader). After a hard day at work, it is like coming home and sitting down after standing for hours.
Back in the day, I played the Crusader Demo and got lost in it. I wished for the full game for my birthday and actually got it as a present. That was the day when I started to LOVE Stronghold.
I will never forget the day I held the CD/DVD box in my hands, installing it and spending weeks of playing. Stronghold is perfect. Pls put all you passion and love in the DE! MUCH LOVE!!!

please, please, please let there be Crusader style AI battles. I replayed the one Pig mission a million times because it was the only way to play castle v castle back in the day.

I haven't played the demo yet ( and I will) but if it's a definitive edition, then there should be new towers, mabey some new units, like: axemen and light cavalry. However if the visuals are being improved, then the #1 thing on the priority list should be,
BUILDINGS ROTATING CORRECTLY.
