- All it took was hours of upgrades. I didn't even know it existed until I managed to get way out into the water and then deep enough to even see it. From there it took upgrading to level 2 bait and then not having any other fish steal my bait. I'm surprised I finally caught it.

Also, the minnow makes fish that are ⭐️⭐️ or below ignore the bait, hence the ? above them when they get near. It’s useful for catching fish lower down, particularly the giant whale at the end that you have to catch in order to move on to the next area.

Here is some advice:
You were thinking correctly with the minnow bait to catch the spotted fish however, the spotted fish was a level 2 or a 2 star fish, making it ignore your bait
The rubber duck and other decorations produce money faster in the aquarium
The higher level fish can last longer in the aquarium, meaning that you can turn off the game and come back and either feed the dead fish or sell them for the same price they are worth normally

The little symbol above the reel button shows you what rod level you need to catch each fish on screen. It also stops time for 3 seconds

Hey DangerouslyFunny, thanks to you I bought Cat Goes Fishing and I like it a lot. From playing it I found a way to fly fish in the game and it helps you cast a lot farther. What you need to do is buy the cast finesse item in rod upgrades and it makes it so you can left click to stop the line from going out farther so you can use this to your advantage. So to fly fish you just cast normally but you let go of left click and then click fast when the pole is almost going to come back the other way and cast. Hopefully this helps you in the next fishing video and I wanted to tell you to keep up the good work with you TH-cam channel. :)

dayum every week there has to be minimum 1 video about fishing or becoming a fish
When you find better fish, put them in your aquarium since it makes money over time and you can watch an ad to revive them after they died. The best fish is the Hopeful Arowana, but its in another zone. The strat i use to catch them and most other fish is: (besides maxed rod and upgrades) throw the rod in the same spot, where you know the fish you want to catch is and clear all the other fish untill you catch the one you want. This works because the aquarium makes enough money to support you buying all the upgrades all over again. Hope I helped :D.
edit: fish respawn when you restart the game and you can abuse that a lot, but its a bit cheesy.
edit: getting better fish in the aquarium doest make money faster, but they dont starve as fast.

Hey helpful tip: use the aquarium to squeeze every dime and penny out of the fish you got, then sell them.
So this game has the time travel glitch that can make some serious cash, not sure if it works any more, by this I mean the game runs on your devices clock so by moving it forward you can max out your aquarium cash and then just reset the timer with an ad and do it again for fast results. So full the aquarium, time travel, reap the rewards, reset and repeat. I recommend sharks for a better balance of money vs fish catching difficulty.
