Well, anyone who dismisses Chaminade as a composer of "trinkets" obviously hasn't heard this (as I hadn't until a few minutes ago)! What a delightful discovery. Thanks for posting your excellent performance.
hello Bruce ! but on you tube you have, if you don't already know, the Trio n° 2 by the excellent ATOS Trio; the second mouvement is really beautifull in a very sensible interpretation. I don't know if they recorded it; but i think so with one of Debussy. If you like melodies you also can find the beautifull "Le bel anneau d'argent" a melody song by the so beautifull voice of Mathé Altéry, a french singer who has a perfect prononciation...it is exquisite :)
Bruce Knoll good morning ! you are right and youtube is one of the good aspect of the net...from Chaminade, i can indicate also on youtube: Valerie Tryon plays Cecile Chaminade's "Automne" ; beautifull piece for piano...have a nice weekend :)

Superb!
Thanks for recording. I've always been curious about Chaminade's music, and there isn't a whole lot available.

Hi Mimi, Thanks for the notice. I'll give that a try, too. TH-cam's been a great source for music that's hard to find elsewhere.

so strange, in the forst movement there is also a fugue....
the fugue acts as a transition in the exposition between the primary and secondary themes.
Igor Marques Do you like this piece ?
Yes.
