I live in the UK and come from a small island in Kent called SHEPPEY and we are most surrounded by mud flats and our water is muddy as is yours, you guys are heroes of the first order the very best for 2023
Have to agree with another viewer. Great video, great work - but the music is not only pretty morbid but really not necessary. Very much appreciate the great work marine rescue do. I have been towed back to the marina before and SO appreciated the help Cheers team . 😊
I thought the job they did picking their way out through the breakers was excellent until I watched the smooth ride back in with a following sea. Solid seamanship, but often overlooked for the sake of "hey everyone, look at me". Great job fellas!
Excellent seamanship and precise handling out of and into the bar, I sure hope those bilge pumps keep on going for the Ketch till they safely reach the harbor. As an ex-boat crewman in the US Coast Guard, it was really fantastic when we were able to assist mariners in distress, great job and keep them safe...
Nice...thats a lot of filthy fresh water emptying the river on the runout. Must have had some serious rains. Nice riding the back of that wave on the way in.
..you have good hobby and work.. ..fine to see this kind of rescue work.. ..i am my older life SAR -staff here south-east Finland archipelago , nearly Turku.. ..greetings from Finland, 🇫🇮
Great video and amazing work you are all doing. I do have one small bone to pick. Why do you have such sad music playing in the background? How about some adventure sounding music? Right now it sounds like your headed out to sea regarding some tragic incident.
Hey Mates, Thanks for sharing this SAR Mission! I work as a volunteer at the German Maritime Rescue Station Prerow/ Wieck. It was extremely interesting to see your crew behave and work on and with your Rescue vessel, because it is very similar to our boat. I would like to see how you use the few space and with which items you are equipped. Is there any possibility to visit your amazing crew and boat some day? On my next visit in Australia I would visit your station. Always return safely! Greetings from Prerow, Germany!
Great job guys, now that's a nasty bar and can't believe the color of your water, must be flood runout, from another skipper Marine Rescue Exmouth. If you do read this, may I ask what vessel is that of yours and what power units are you running?
The Soren Larsen....she is a good ship and i have sailed many miles on her...i was very surprised to see her in this video.....looking a bit worse for wear.
great footage guys, pretty decent swell crossing the BAR. 1 question, whats the upper age limit of this rescue service? I am part of the RNLI and have been for 22 years we have 55, 60, and 65 dependent on the vessel you are crew on. Stay safe
To first ,3 replies instead of being nit picking criticizing jerks , you should appreciate rescuers , they risk their lives , I myself work on a ferry boat system in the Carolinas USA, and emergencies happen,, try not to be petty about little bs,
Somebody please explain to me how 5 gallons of fuel was going to save this 90' vessel? They have only diesel powered bilge pumps - which means engine or generator driven, I'm sure. So a 90' vessel calls for a delivery of 5 gallons of diesel. Well, it's nice to know that certain people are willing to risk their lives to deliver a jerry can to a vessel that undoubtedly carries thousands of gallons, but that suddenly finds itself 1 jerry can short? Am I missing something extremely fundamental here????? WTF??? If you're captain of a 90' vessel with crew aboard, and you're running your resource margins so short that you feel your ship is in danger without 5 more gallons of diesel, maybe you should take an onshore job where peoples' lives aren't at stake. Just sayin. Jeeeeesh!!!
A sailboat hull is incredibly efficient and usually runs on a relatively tiny diesel engine (10-25hp). That engine can go for many miles on a single gallon of diesel. Not excusing this guys behavior, but it’s not the gas guzzling machine you think (source: sailed boat to Bahamas from South Carolina).
The are so called planet savers. Long hear, dread, fancy gore Tex dressed planet saver without any job living on tax payers. You can usually see them glued to some sort of public places while steaming- safe planet. So 2 jerry can will do them…. Doesn’t matter that few life’s was on risk and whole operation cost few grant.
Great job guys. I'm a bit of a novice here, so go easy on me. Why didn't the boat use sail power and then use fuel when close to a safe haven rather than running out of fuel just hoping?
That piece of sh!t called for assistance on the Gold Coast in the week before then proceeded on with its journey to Sydney asking for fuel and assistance to whole way down, complete shit show from the crew just wanting to deliver a boat that should be scrapped. Hats off to the volunteers who responded to the numerous call outs
Very well done guys, but like so many officials, sporting and volunteer organizations, not an up & coming younger individual in sight. As a society we have lost the ability to include the next generations and we will pay the price.
Why do we have to go so slow on our way out that we stuff every other to third wave? There’s no need for that ridiculousness, he could have faired those waters so much cleaner.
It's sad to see it like that because of all the flooding down there. Having lived in Murwillumbah, I have friends that were affected by the floods there. That area is beautiful and usually a stunning blue out on the ocean.
Radio comms need to be precise and concise. Mistaking Feet for Inches may be a simple error, but could have a massive knock on effect in certain circumstances. Obviously in this case it was instantly apparent that 30m is not equal to 98.5 inches, but that fella needs to be careful in the future.
I was wondering why in the hell do they need an imperial measurement of that large yacht. The measurement was given in metres, that’s it, nothing more needed.
@@teeanahera8949 The guy on the radio sounded like an older fella, no doubt not so great with the metric system, Spect he thought he was doing them a favour, just ended up confusing himself.
just a request ,would please NOT put back ground music behind your videos ,people with a hearing loss ,( EG me) can not hear the voice of people speaking on the video .all we can hear is the back ground music ,tks eric .

Excellent boat handling and general all around terrific seamanship.

Did you not see the dead cow and the water being brown from mass flooding ??
It is to make us sad of your spelling. It is you’re or you are headed out to sea not your headed.

Another great job fellas, cheers.

Sharky looking....Good job
excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done all..... great job
Great show men. Please dump the sound though, it doesnt compliment the brave guys one bit.
is that government boat? IF SO cant imagine how much they billed for that.

Agreed!

Thats why im a member hunter 950well done guys 😊😊😊
Dump the crappy music, just let the sounds of you guys and whats happening be the sound track. The Ketch is just a failure of Seamanship.

One has to wonder how it is that a ship of that size runs out of fuel for such a critical function AND on a coastal passage.

why not give us the name of the "ketch"? (not a ketch in my book, due to the squaresails))

he clearly says 30metres or 98 feet, 5 inches. clear as day.
LOL, bit critical with the comments 30m and or 98ft to me is fairly similar in a wide open ocean looking for a white yacht.
Yes, he said 98.5 then corrected it to 98' 5" which is near as bugger it 95.5'. About 1 minute 10 seconds in.
