Junior Dlomo has built an amazing construction business from scratch, using nothing but sheer grit, tenacity and a desire to keep learning.
He tells his story, credits his brothers and unpacks how he built Elite Projects into the functioning business it is today.

Most of us we think/know how to get the job done, but very few are willing to actually put in the work to get the job done. Great work ethics from Dlomo and big up to his family.

Penuel is right at the first topic. I lived Witbank, Soshanguve, Northcliff and Diepkloof. The Spar in Witbank was the best Spar I've experienced, it had the best cooked food, fantastic specials, great local products and the staff were nice. The second was best was in Northcliff, not a lot of cooked food options but the pastry was the best, the manager was always active in the store you could talk to him any the you want. The worst one was in Diepkloof, the manager was barely available, he did not fulfill my requests, the shop is dirty, badly lit, price tags not available for some products, you had to pay at the till first before you could pick cheese, a complete mess.

Penuel speaks facts. I would love him to give a TED Talk on the problems that we have in South Africa, specifically on the underlying cultural issues

I've never heard my home town mentioned on a platform like this🙏
Uitenhage is a small town outside Port Elizabeth with allot of potential.
Like most of South Africa it has problems getting in the way of realising that potential.

Not all of us. I went to managers in Centurion and told them to clean up. I even wrote a letter. We must not take shit from people not doing their job. If they do not react go to the next level or to the newspaper. We must excel above what you call a curse.

I have been complaining to my Landlord for months about an issue I have with my apartment, despite reassurance to take action, nothing has been done... Landlord is black, Agent for the property is black, I'm black. Penuel has a point here.

I'll never forget the Helen Joseph incident for as long as I'm alive! The subsequent statement the dept made was released with such quickness!
Anyway, well done Jnr! You and your family set a good example to many out there. There are still so many veils that need to be pierced in the industry you and your family are in (I'm not going to go into detail here, but to me govt is very tardy in addressing so many issues in order to level the playing field).
