I don’t think any Millwall fan is thinking about playoffs or anything, it’s just nice to have a good run of form and to especially beat potentially the two best teams in the league back to back. It was obvious last season but even more so now, Tanganga is just way too good for us. I can only imagine his lack of playing time in his career thus far made him sign for us because otherwise I have no idea how we got him, either way he’ll be back to the premier league sooner rather than later
For me the main reason we are hard to beat is work rate of the players and fight in the team however the players do have attacking qualities that are not really being unleashed Tanganga and DeNorre are for me the stand out players and th think the injuries we've had and now after the international break comming back who knows what we can achieve under Sir Neil Harris perhaps people will now give us credit we deserve you can keep your possession football I'd settle for 3 points coyl Miiiiiiiiiiiiii
As for Millwall and as a very longtime supporter, for the first time in many years I see the team now showing a completely smoothly integrated defensive pattern and mentality. This is helped by the forwards always being available to track back to aid the defence and the defence supporting the attack. Don't expect to play possession football against this team, by playing from the back and passing Millwall to death. It won't work. I remember George Grahame, one of Millwall's best managers, saying you build your team from the back and a secure defence. This and the abandoning of the old Harrisball philosophy of a long high ball to hoofed to a large lump up the front is gone and a more cultured approach is paying dividends.
I was at both the Plymouth, Derby, Burnley and Leeds fixtures, I'm at most home games for the mighty Millwall. The one thing that Sam missed, which we feel is of vital importance, is the work ethic. George Honeyman works incredibly hard and is everywhere...obviously the Tanganga/Cooper relationship is important (although we desperately need a bit of cover there), and the tactics are spot on. Form a defensive block, invite opposition to try and break us down, then when we get a chance, hit them hard and fast. Azeez has now begun to grow into a Championship player, Esse is a class act, but hasn't finished developing yet, Ryan Leonard is solidly consistent, and both Duncan Watmore, and Macauley Langstafff work hard and can damage defences. Then we come to the bench, to be able to bring on either Ivanovich or "Rooster" Coburn is a real bonus. Both are big, physical lads and know where the goal is. Coburn especially looks to be a monster in attack...and when he's fully match fit, is going to score a few more goals. COYL
I think Tanganga has been our best player of the season so far, and has been instrumental in us going on a long unbeaten run (particularly our last four 1-0 wins) and it’s not surprising that in our first two games of the season when he was suspended, we shipped 7 goals, and since his return away to Hull, we played that match and a further 11 (up to Leeds last night) and only conceded 5 goals! My biggest worry is that Tanganga is currently on 4 bookings, and should he get a 5th on Saturday away to Stoke, then he’ll be suspended for our first game back after the international break, the vital home game against Sunderland. No Lions fan will want to face them without an available Tanganga to help keep them from scoring a goal against us! COYL.
All FA semis were played on neutral ground and in 93 the semis were Arsenal v Spurs and Sheff Utd v Sheff Wed. The FA took the unprecedented step of moving the London derby to Wembley (75K capacity) and the Sheffield derby was set to be played at Elland Road, Leeds (34K capacity). There was uproar in Sheffield at the disrespect of placing this massive game in such a small stadium, also fears than many 1000's would travel without tickets. So petitions and letters were sent to Graham Kelly (FA) claiming favouritism towards London clubs. The FA then agreed to change the venue so both semi's were played at Wembley. All the SU and SW tickets were sold out 20 hours before they were due to go on sale. The crowds and tents were building up outside the grounds 40 hours before the ticket office was due to open, so the police made both ticket offices open 24 hours earlier than planned.
for us blades, its been a perfect week so far for us.Starting with our injury time winner against Bristol and then seeing Leeds getting beaten(thanks Millwall) and both Sunderland & Burnley being held to nil nil draws.Chris Wilder has got the team all primed up & ready for Sunday's game, remind me again, who we playing 🙂 ? UTB
Tangnga is clutch to the way we play and will be badly missed if he is out. He's already on four bookings (none particularly deserved) so one more and he'll be on a one game ban. Likely to happen because there's still 6 or 7 games before the reset. If I had to choose the best scenario is to pick up that fifth yellow against Sunderland meaning he would miss the Pompey game.
Stoke have had so many false dawns. We could win a dozen games in a row and then go backwards again we’ve been in this rut so long. Hopefully couple of returns not too long after the international break will help us further. Big concern is the shots against us….must be one of the highest in the division. We can’t rely on the keeper to carry on keeping goals out with wonder saves.
I hope Wilder takes the handbrake off. No reason why we can't win big against a poor Wednesday side. Gus is due a goal and I fancy Vini to get on the score sheet. It'll be a proud day for Arblaster captaining his side to victory.
Stoke fan, we were very fortunate to win the game against Blackburn but I’ve got no doubt that Johansson is the best goalie in the league and that bodes well for us. Millwall on Saturday is a big indicator of where we’re headed. I see a draw.
It won't be 0-0 this time in the Steel City Derby. Both teams will want to win so much for the bragging rights, and seeing as it's their first clash for five years I believe there will be fireworks on display. Up the Blades!
To be honest derbies are one offs. Remember us doing the double early 90s when Wednesday were a good team. Home crowd will be raucous. Wednesday goalie Chris Wood visibly shrank in the Bramall Lane match. Fingers crossed. UTB
Don't think we will get promoted or keep playing the way we are, seems to work against the so called better footballing sides but not when we play the teams who are in and around us when we are lower to mid table. Would like to Bomber play two up top then and have a go but not moaning just enjoying what we are doing. Things change so quickly in football, especially in this league. We are in fifth position and only seven points off the bottom, it's mad but I love it.COYL.
How can he possible change the shape after the form we’re in? It’s alright everyone saying play 2 up top, but we aren’t managers, we don’t know if it would even work. That’s why villa don’t play Duran and Watkins, they aren’t compatible. The team comes first.
@DanielWynn-v7b didn't say he should play two up top, said would like to see it against the teams we struggle against, coburn and langstaff could work. Don't give a shit about villa.
Even if Norwich had a lot of injuries, their squad value that they put out compared to Wednesday's XI is crazy. So the excuses for losing are invalid. Who would you rather have - Ugbo or Borja Sainz?
They were going to have the all Sheffield semi-final at Bellend Road ... but everyone objected to it and it's low capacity so 'people power' got the venue changed to Wembley. I seem to remember the match was broadcast as being 'peaceful' but I though a bloke got killed in a scrap in the car-park???? an early use of the BBC bogus "mostly peaceful" trope. I mean, there's nought wrong with the Leeds ground especially if you are a connoisseur of asbestos roofing materials .....
@@richardmell299 Sunderland won’t make auto squad isn’t strong enough, first 11 decent but see where they are after Christmas , if they don’t make top 6 it would require a massive drop off now they made changes last night and Preston could of won on another day. leeds and sheff u will finish 1st 2nd the play offs god knows someone could get in on the final day and win the whole thing it’ll be that tight
Leeds fan here. Millwall played us like a fiddle last night, men against boys. However Leeds are by far the better team and we should be spanking teams like Millwall. Leeds are seriously under performing at the moment.
Why should you be beating teams like us? We are in better form.the only reason you have more quality is because your squad is worth triple the amount compared to us. Anyone can beat anyone in the championship. If you want to get the top two, you need to defend set pieces better, very poor at defending set pieces
@@lionheart3916they should be beating us because they have better players. It’s not hard to work out. Their bench would be our starters. They had a bloke on the bench on 60k per week. That’s why they SHOULD be beating us, the side with the 5th lowest budget in the league.

I've gone for an over the top prediction, but it's certainly possible when you look at the standings a Bristol City v Millwall playoff final, lol
