I had a glasstream and it was a great boat. I have been in some rough seas and nice seas. Always beat up when i came in. Recently bought a 2021 26ft cat. And i dont think i will ever go back! Cat for life now!
Loved your transparency and first hand knowledge. Sounds like a great boat for your Keys lifestyle. Need for speed can be a thing, but the cost and trade offs make it not worth it in the long run for most people ❤
Another great video Mark. As a fellow World Cat owner, I love the comfort and stability of the cat. Like you, I would only go with a cat in the Keys as an older boater and fisherman. but it really comes to choice - more comfort vs. performance.
I just traded for another 24' bay boat. I thought very hard about a Tideline cat that has no more draft than my bay boat. My main negative is, I trailer my boat and make trips fishing alone. That cat is more than I want to deal with for a day solo trip.
@@GablesOnTheGo - I was looking at the Tideline 23' hybrid, fishing machine, but a lot on a trailer, especially when I tow my boat from NC coast to Marathon a couple times a year. But the main reason was launching and loading solo for day fishing trips, just too much trouble. I have been on cat's and like the ride. My new Sportsman 24' bay boat came with the Seakeeper Ride system automated trim tabs, unreal ride for a bay boat
The majority of people still don't want a EV car. Tesla for all of their faults, is hands down the leader in EV's. Freeman did their research and placed boats in social media influencers hands for long tern trials. The negative on a CAT is unless you pay for a slip or own water front property, transportation requires a wide load permit in most states. A 26' mono-haul is usually under 8'6" wide so transporting to and from isn't an issue. A EV for the way I use to drive, 350 mile road trips 3-4 times a month would be a non-starter. There are other CATS on the market, though not really affordable or fishing friendly (MTI-44 with twin 500r engines that are fast 100mph+ and fuel efficient, 1 mpg) they just come with a price tag close to $1.5M.
World Cat, Twin Vee yes absolutely Freeman another one out in Louisiana (Calcutta?) and who knows who else now besides Prokat absolutely. Only reason i refuse to part with my boat is because of how easy to get on and off at the dock despite being tiny compared to this. Being out on the water all day *is exhausting* i don't think people understand that. Inshore, offshore saltwater of course freshwater too only thing i wish for and why I don't do powered boats until this changes is no diesels offered by any of the major producers. What has been done with these enormous gas engines is truly a marvel of engineering but i know if i were cummins, caterpillar or john deere the latter two who are already in the marine diesel market I'd be serious about taking a hard look at this part of the industry as the complexity cost and total inability to service the super massive outboards certainly not for lack of trying but wasn't evinrude right for stick with a 2 stroke motor? Reliability *EVERY TIME NO MATTER WHAT* really does matter once you suddenly need to have 300 plus horsepower. If i were the Industry anyways i would be *DEMANDING* a serious replacement to the two stroke gasoline before putting on true two say absolutely 4 stroke wonders Yamaha Mercury Suzuki and now Honda who practically invented all this is back *THANK GOD.* Given current costs for some of these all in better off with a turbine because again...an automatic transmission now? #craisins 😊

Cats are great boats down here!

For Sure!

Cats are a bit larger on the trailer not necessarily in width, but certainly in overall height...they look enormous on the trailer!

2 mpg is actually good!
Yaw, was the word you were looking for.
/Cheers from Sweden! ;)
Cool, thanks!
Grown man talking on a subject + video with little editing = a shitload of knowledge
No one wanted a catamaran until Freeman came around just like no one wanted an electric car until Tesla showed up.

Wonder how the seakeeper compares to a Cat Hull
The seakeeper is amazing, at least the one we experienced.
Put it at my house? John
Thanks John! She's gonna stay high and dry in the driveway for bit!
