I wish that one of the ESE locos had survived. They were pretty. to the video poster.. I know you're making these videos to show off the trains, but I would really like to see the GS-4 and the Hudson at normal running speed instead of crawling into a station.
@funnyfunnys It's too bad all the NYC Hudsons were scrapped. But atleast The STTRR Hudson 5212 and 6088 make good scale model replacements. STTRR stands for Sonoma Train Town Railroad. It's a miniature version of the New York Central System. It's just in the county of Sonoma.
@ramonnie007 - yeah, but without that, this loco would never get around the tight curves you usually find on Lionel O-gauge track without clearance problems at the corners.
the empire state express is on the MTH website, go to shopping, then click train sets and more, then click on railking, then click steam loco. and last but not least, New York Central! =] srry for the confusion! lol
I wish MTH would change their sound a little. Alot of MTH's engines have that whistle, and almost every mth PS2 has the same chuff sounds. Still i love all and any train!
+harry dewiitt I have big clumsy hands so I do not have any brass locomotives as I'd be likely to inadvertently crush the boiler. This is die cast, as are all of my steamers.
I just saw one of these in action, (the model one of course), at the Lawrence County Fair. It looked beautiful.
One of the most beautiful locomotives ever !!!
This is one of my favorite LOCOMITVES.
The Dreyfuss Hudson is my favorite locomotive.
The Thomas and Friends character Connor is modeled after this steam engine.
The Dreyfuss Hudson has been out for many years. Your best bet is the secondary market, such as eBay.
Either way Might I suggest a video on the Mercury or the Comodore Vanderbuilt?
Ahhh... The nostalgia.
Yes, that's actually the signature video on my channel page here on TH-cam.

ohh! it's beautiful what scale is?
Oh yeah, i saw your page, but im talking about the hudson version, with the black and silver colors.
My train set consists of passenger and freight trains in all scale sizes.
Does mth railking work on lionel o scal track?

Next year I will make a homemade Trackmaster NYC Dreyfuss Hudson (4-6-4) Steam Train.
Very nice train how much did it cost when you got it?

Dreyfuss? as in the same guy who styled John Deeres?
Thats a Real Classic steam Engine and its a shame there are no Hudson's Left In real Life. They were all scrapped.
How many cars would the average lionel locomotive pull?
beutifull train!!!!!! love it!!!!!
cool color!!
Do you have the MTH Empire State Express???
You Forgot To Mention This Is The Stream-Lined Version
Where do you get these model trains at?
I LOVE THEM ALL
Well I dont know I had a Berkshire loco I added about 15 cars and it still moved
I think I can, I know I can, I knew I could.
@Flyboy207 Yes.
@Juggylocko - I thought that was obvious.
where can i buy this
Yes
is this a brass engine?
+harry dewiitt I have big clumsy hands so I do not have any brass locomotives as I'd be likely to inadvertently crush the boiler. This is die cast, as are all of my steamers.
Most famous.
no......
Dam train got rims...
It seems to me that the MTH steamers are much better smokers than the Lionel engines.
