    I hope Mcsally recognizes that the sole reason she lost a red state like Arizona was because she aligned herself with Trump. In her last term in the House she voted with Trump 99% of the time, and on the campaign trail she embraced him and took a page out of his playbook and repeatedly lied about Sinema and her own record. So if Mcsally recognizes that most Arizonans don't like or support our president, and that she should be independent instead of sucking up to the president, then I think she will be a very good Senator.

    • @brianforbes8325

      According to the Gallup poll, Trumps approval rating in Arizona in 2018 was only 43%. Business Insider's polling research published on January 7, 2019 shows Donald Trump's approval rating in Arizona has fallen by 8 percentage points from January 2017 to the end of 2018.

    I love u Sinema, you r the true successor of John McCain, and that’s coming from a born and bred Arizonan. McSally I’m scornfully hurt with your lack of personal strength in honoring John McCain regardless of the President. Your impotence is why u lost the race and I’m disgusted along with many others at your corrupt appointment. We here at home await an actual emphatic apology, everyone including u knows John deserves it.

      Jackson Bianco noting corrupt about it
      It’s the law that the governor appoints someone to the seat
      Governor Ducey selected her
      She’s not my favorite but don’t hate on a system just because you don’t like the person who it benefited

    • @jacksonbianco2934
      @jacksonbianco2934 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      PHX Master I know that it is the total prerogative of the a governor to fill a senate seat in the case of a vacancy, although the fallacious and deceptive nature of McSally’s senatorial campaign as well as her contrast from the man who’s seat she will fill for 4 years was done for the Republican political expediency and greatly to the contrary of what Arizona’s voted for senator in 2016. Her rank in file style is not in the style of most Arizona senators in the past (McCain, Goldwater, even Flake) and that’s why she lost. When systems of government have problems it is imperative to point them out and “hate on them” ( ;) ) because that is how things change. It also offers us a chance to see how our leaders respond the institutional flaws, do the silently exploit and benefit them, or do they fight to change and better them. I look forward in 3 years to vote for someone who deserves that historic seat, and so far McSally is far from who I can imagine voting for.

      Jackson Bianco I’m gonna be straight up with you
      I’m a soon to be first time voter in 2020
      My dads side has always been republican despite being from New York
      My mother side is full of teachers so they leaned more democrat
      Even my mother has begun leaning to the right these past few years
      Mcsally isn’t my first choice and you do bring up a good argument
      2020 is the next election btw (has to be a special one for who will hold the seat for 2 years) 2022 will be for 6 year term
      I’m tired of being trashed for having an opinion that isn’t bashing republicans
      I plan to help keep Arizona red in 2020 for that reason
      If you’ve read this long I greatly appreciate it and hope you can respect my opinion as I respect yours

      PHX Master yay I’m excited you’re gonna vote! Thank your for you’re civility and concern with educating yourself (most voters don’t). What I will say my friend is that you should vote on issues, not party. Voting red or blue isn’t how we should approach politics cuz that will just make politicians run to the center of their party. Instead find the issues that matter to you and really get to know why they’re important and how you’re officials and candidates feel and vote on them. I care mostly about protecting the Environment and giving good healthcare to the poor and underprivileged. That’s why I’m a proud democrat and I also have a love and INSANE RESPECT for politicians who don’t fall in line with their party, and on the other side of the coin I don’t care for politicians that do fall in line with their party. McSally loved to tout John’s name in Arizona but after his death when she was sighing a bill that John has worked really hard for for veterans she had no inclination to thank him for his work posthumously or even acknowledge him. She didn’t do that because she was staying behind the man that said John wasn’t a hero, president trump. She’s not a maverick. Anyway I enjoyed speaking with you and if I ever want to talk policy just continue the thread, God knows I love public policy 🤓😎

    • @phxmaster9684
      @phxmaster9684 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jackson Bianco I agree with the not voting on party line to an extent
      I think we saw this in 2018 elections and now it’s causing a huge problem for a president that I (and many in this state) plan to re elect
      It’s annoying when literally every bill can’t pass when both parties have partial control and id obviously rather have the party that leans more with me in control than the party that I fail to relate with on many issues (you’d agree probably, also I don’t want a president getting impeached for literally no reason other than they don’t like him)
      Environmental issues not really my thing tbh
      Health care my thing is don’t force people to buy a product they don’t want we should definitely help people get healthcare but not penalizing the working class doing it
      And of course what’s your stance on public policy 😎😎😎

      Sinema's always loved Arizona, having lived here for 30 out of 42 years of her life. I think she hasn't always been fond of some of the people that got elected here. But then, neither have I, and I still have loved this state enough to live here the past 29 years. But ,with pols like Ev Mecham, Tom Horne, Fife Symington, Joe Arpaio, Jan Brewer, and Russell Pearce being put into office, it HAS been a meth lab of democracy. She spoke the truth.

      No gold rush, no coastline, and no Hollywood. AZ will never become CA, even if misguided assholes want it to be. It doesn't have the historical influxes of population and resources that made Cali the mess it is today. EDIT: If climate change goes full Roland Emmerich movie, and Cali sinks...only then will AZ become California. But I don't think that is happening.

      LeeVaughn Graves You call out important details but miss the big picture. This is an ideological shift in a historically conservative state. It’s only beginning.

      @@bsharp844 Idiological shifts happen, in peoples and nations. I felt like I grew up in a racist armpit of a state but in the last 10 years I feel like my home is coming around to become a place all peoples can live and work in peace. Arizona is outgrowing old school conservatism, and the votes prove it. It is indeed only the beginning. :)

    Well they're both Republicans in practice. They both voted to repeal the ACA tax.
