Also, is there a common ssh for all the instances in the group? If yes please show how to connect to it

Can I expect to make a managed group and only pay when instances are running? Can I expect the group to scale from 1 instances to say 100? Can I just have one instance physically in the storage and pay for it sitting there or do I have to define multiple instaces for group and possibly pay for them?
Thanks for some quick yes and nos :-)

still not clear about how configuration of newly generated / added instance by system configuration.. e.g. Created one Instance with apache, php now traffic increase , new instance added but what I found is that in newly created instance apache & php not foud which must be configured automatically as what should be done by autoscaling..

Did you create your template instance properly ? You may like to use startup-script option to download those setting in the template instance option. I like to setup all settings in the private image and then create template instance using this private image.

I have created a load balance following the docs. But I am getting 502 error. The health status of the auto scaling is good. Can someone comment on this.

check the heal status from the load balancer view there might be a rule being unfulfilled like, calling a servlet that returns status != 200
