Meet Steve Attrill the Chief Pilot for Hovertravel Ltd who flies this remarkable machine.
In the UK we have the only scheduled year-round commercial passenger hovercraft service in the entire world, running between Southsea on the mainland and Ryde on the Isle of Wight.
Making around 60 crossings a day, at a speed which leaves other vessels in its wake, Hovertravel used their craft during the pandemic to quickly ferry patients from the island to the mainland, even adapting their cargo bay to carry stretchers.

It’s a Griffon Hoverwork 12000 TD we operate two craft of the same type. 78 seaters plus a wheelchair space, I’ve been working there for 6 years as a cashier so selling tickets and providing customer information, it’s a great place to work
