    Our son hasn't stopped playing with this since we built it a month ago... We kinda cheated and got an extra express passenger train set on offer for not much more than the cost of the powered up pieces themselves. More track + controller + the ability to create a complete express passenger train made it an easy justification in my eyes.

    I added a color sensor and made the trolley go back and forth on a straight section of track so it can go on a shelf instead of on a circle

      Awesome, I need to get hold of some colour sensors, a little bit of automation would be really cool.

    I am now excited to build this set, so I can put a motor in the Trolley. LOL Pre-Covid we used to set LEGO displays at local train shows, and we have a Winter Village display with track already. The trolley would really look good in that display. The only problem is that display has been boxed for several years now, and I have no space to get it out....

      This will be a great addition to your village. I was really pleased with how this turned out, LEGO did a really good job with this.

    I would be one of the insane people to have it powered through the track, or have a smaller battery and charge station at it's stop to take charge

      I think we'd all power it through the track if 9V was still a thing LEGO sold.

    My winter village now takes up 4'x10' of table space with a full track loop around the outside, it is expanding by the year.

    Thats a great success, well done! 👍🏻
    Btw do you also have some custom train track in your setup? Im thinking of your crossover points on the double straight track? I dont recognize those pieces....

    • @DunksterBricks
      @DunksterBricks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The cross over tracks are from 4D Brix, I've had them for a few years and they are 3D printed. Having those means I don't need to track down the original flawed LEGO version.

      @@DunksterBricks ok cool. I was hoping to have some points like those and wondered why Lego doesnt make them! I'll have a look at 4D Brix!! 👍🏻

      TrixBrix.eu would probably be a better place to look. They have a big selection of custom track and I prefer their stuff now.

    Personally I don’t like to power LEGOs trams trolleys and streetcars unless you have dedicated tramways or railways built into MILS roads

    Can you tell me how many boxes I need of 60205 to make a loop? Any size loop. Just need to know how many boxes minimum.

    • @DunksterBricks
      @DunksterBricks  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This set has 4 curves which form 1/4 of a circle, the flexi track could also be used as a curve, but it's not the best to use for curves, If you just use the cures you would need 4 of these sets to make a loop. You could go to to BrickLink.com and buy the 16 curves needed for a circle from a store in your country to reduce shipping costs. That would be the cheapest way to do it, just search for Train, Track Plastic (RC Trains) Curve. You could check if the store has any straight track and get some of those as well, it will save you a lot of money.

    • @DunksterBricks
      @DunksterBricks  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      try switching the motor and the lights over on the hub and that will tell you if it's the motor or the hub that's at fault.

    • @DunksterBricks
      @DunksterBricks  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The set is still available from the Lego website. You'd need to get a Powered UP hub and motor as well to power the tram.

    Do you have to buy the lights power up to be able to make the whole thing run or can it just use the power brick + power wheels from the passenger train set?

    • @DunksterBricks
      @DunksterBricks  ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't need the lights, the power brick and motor is enough to make it work.
