    • @ClevelandStorms

      You need the ZVS board, a flyback transformer (you can salvage one of these from anything that uses a CRT screen), and a 12 volt power source (I used a 12 volt battery). That's the works

    • @jonathanleslie9100
      @jonathanleslie9100 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks cleveland for the response, I got my two parts, exactly the ones you have in this video. Can I trouble you for more details on what you are talking about at 1:34 about the "8 turn primary" ? did you add the red coil around that part? my flyback didn't come with those red wires wrapped around that bar/handle part of the flyback. Is it solid core or stranded wire? you also added the black wire to the end of it, why? I assume those wires connect to the the "output-a" and "output-b" terminals of the ZVS.
      To make the spark, It is correct that you are bringing the end of wire that is from the suction cup to the pin that is its associated ground at the pins area of the flyback? In looking at other ZVS's I see other connections that use a center pull on the winding and the ZVS has three terminals. Can you explain the difference? I've also seen where people connect the zvs to 2 of the input pins at the bottom of the flyback, is there a reason you didn't use those instead of the winding?
      thanks again for your video, I am really excited to put mine together safely and to understand what is going on here.

    • @ClevelandStorms
      @ClevelandStorms  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply!
      -The 8 turn primary is 16 gauge solid core wire that I would around the core of the flyback
      -I added the black wires at the end because they were thinner and would be easier to attach to the screw terminals in the driver board
      -Connecting the ZVS output to the two internal pins on the flyback also works, but because the ZVS driver is so powerful, the flyback can internally short out if over-driven using the internal primary pins. That is why it is safer to wind your own primary
      -Some ZVS drivers use a center tap, however this one was constructed in a way that does not require a center tap. It requires more components but it's just what the manufacturer chose to do
      Hopefully this helps!

      This circuit has no internal current limiting or protection, just like the battery. I think your battery broke because this device have drained much more than 3 amps. For a short time, a 3Ah battery can supply, let's say, 30 amps, but it's lifespan degrades drasticly.
      3 Ah means that the 100% charged battery can safely supply 3 amps during 1 hour, and it will be fine. If the drained current is much greater - the battery will still try to supply it, in cost of it's own life.

      The max *input* voltage = x4 of MOSFET max. Vds voltage. Yup, it's a 50v max for this PCB with 200v-rated IRFP260.
      The *output* voltage depends on the transformer ratio, this one produces >10kV. Are you trying to build pure sine inverter or something?

      It’s cheaper, better and more reliable to use the EG8030 chip for 3-phase, or EG8010 for 1-phase (they have pre-installed firmware) + 3 IGBT half-bridges.

      Your English is fine,you should not apologize. I think the zero volt switch circuit is a sensitive circuit if everything is not right it will blow the fets every time. Check and recheck the circuit and components are correct values and good quality. 😎💕🖖

      Thank you
      Yes this circuit is a bit hard to get going. Its because of the Spikes and interruptions on the Startup. To Work reliably it would need some Kind of Filter and Stabilisation. Maybe i will redesign a propper Version With Power Regularien and safetey Features one day.

    China does fantastic work, it all depends on the spec and budget the twats ordering the item choose, its always profit over value.
    I first noticed it when i came across an isometric drawing of a pair of pants, everything from obviously materials, quality of stitching, how many threads, how many rows., thread thickness....
    Cos to be honest the simple t shirt that was for sale 20yrs ago, the kind that last a decade vs 1 wash and its screwed that i find today is down to the greedy prick that orders the cheapest garbage design to maximize profit.

    2 zvs driver and parallel the output to 1 coil for induction heater to combine the power is that gonna work?

      nope, cause they won't work synchronous. Even paralleling FET's in a single ZVS cirquit will cause some troubles.
