    Rule of thumb: if you're worried about whether or not you committed the sin against the Holy Ghost, you have not committed the sin against the Holy Ghost.

      It is not wise to make a general statement like that. When there's doubt, it is better to go to the Sacrament of

      Being your whole life loyal to your church doctrine even seeing that is mixed with lies against the Bible you are living your whole life against the Bible which is God’s word which is God in John 1:1… and your whole life against the Bible is one of most unforgiving sin against the HolySPIRIT(which means words in John 6:62).
      This is why using the Bible you should test every principle of your church doctrine knowing that was Satan twisted the Bible to create more than 50 thousands Christian religions as false way of salvation making clearly that you are going to eternally fire whatever will be your loyalty to your church doctrine.
      This is why you should read your Bible again testing every principle of your church doctrine knowing that a truth mixed with any lie cannot be anymore called as God’s word(the Bible).
      Only the whole Bible truth can set you free from all what Satan twisted as more than 50 thousands church doctrines as strong delusion for those who are without love of the Bible truth(2Thes 2:9-12).
      John 10:33 make clearly that being man to make yourself GOD is called blasphemy.
      The Pope have already many titles calling him as GOD(2Thes 2:3,4 in you pretending that you are his temple 1Cor 6:19 1Cor 3:16).
      But saying that is from Satan the Bible verse which is against your church doctrine that is also called blasphemy against the HolySPIRIT which means WORDS in John 6:63.
      In John 6:68 Jesus HAVE the words of life but in Mark 3:22 they said that Jesus HAVE demons…. and this is another kind of blasphemy… and this is why you should start to having the Bible as your daily spiritual food to be sure that you are not living in any kind of sin against the HolySPIRIT or even in any kind of blasphemy.

    Thank God This video came to me at the right time.. I generally have a very obsessive mind, which unfortunately reflects on my faith life too. I often think that I have sinned about something and my soul does not find much peace. Recently I was wondering if I might have sinned against the Holy Spirit. I think God wanted me to relax by showing me this video. If I understood correctly, if there is no full consciousness and bad intentions, and if there is remorse and constant repentance after committing a sin, then it is impossible for us not to receive God's mercy and not to be forgiven.

      Hi, are you from Belgium? (Based on your username) If so, can I ask what's the state of Catholic Christianity (& Christianity in general) over there? Are most people really as irreligious & potentially agnostic as is often claimed?
      Do young people even attend Holy Mass beyond First Communion & ceremonies?

    • @dekatholiekebelg
      @dekatholiekebelg ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@isaiah3872 I think it is like the situation in the UK, Germany, etc. France, I think, is something else. The liturgical and Catholic life there is quite alive, from my experience, and is something we can hold on to. It is difficult to say how religious people still are. Most of society has abandoned our faith, with empty churches to prove it. But our church is also still linked to the state (e.g. priests are paid by the Ministry of Justice, a remnant from the Napoleonic era), which might make a revival all the more difficult. Structures are rusty, but there are many groups of families and some priests who are faithful, especially the young ones. But too often they have to deal with difficulties that come from said structures. All in all, it is difficult to get a clear picture of it, but suffice to say it is not all that well. Yet there are reasons to be hopeful too, and God will not abandon us.

    The unpardonable sin is to reject the salvation that is in Christ.
    They, the Pharisees, had already accused (blasphemed) Jesus by saying he had a demon. In a sense he was saying "You can say that about me, but you cannot refuse the salvation that is in me".
    He emphasised that you can blaspheme the Father, and you can blaspheme the son (which they had done by accusing him of having a demon) and be forgiven, but if it leads to rejecting the salvation that is in him, then there is no pardon, since pardon for sin is rejected by rejecting the son.
    If you reject Christ as God's only son, by whom sin is forgiven, then pardon for sin is forfeited, and so you cannot receive forgiveness in this world (unless you change your mind on it) or the next.
    And so, you can sin in any way, or blaspheme God in any way and still receive forgiveness if there is repentance, but if you refuse Jesus as the means of remittance of sin, then you blaspheme the Holy spirit.
    On a final note, this is why Jesus said.
    Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son. John 3-18

    Christ teaches us about Blasphemy in Matthew 12:31-32,34 31 For this reason I tell you: people can be forgiven any sin and any evil thing they say; but whoever says evil things against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven. 32 Anyone who says something against the Son of Man can be forgiven; but whoever says something against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven - now or ever. In verse 34 your mouth speaks what your heart is full of.
    It's always best to follow the teachings of Christ and no one else.

    Might it be also possible to fall into this sin by refuting "God is good"? It would be quite common, then. Seeing the challenges and the hardships of life, the evil that men do or even the supposedly unhospitable nature of the universe to life, one might fall into the trap of thinking that the whole endeavour of life should be pointless or evil. And this line of reasoning surely blinds us to and hinders us from receiving the grace of God, until we repent and believe that ultimately God is good.

    Seems very complicated to me. I have always taken the view that if the Holy Spirit is the giver of life and the giver of faith; then the rejection of these is the blasphemy spoken of. At the very final moment before judgment if we reject the life given us in Christ and the faith that comes from the Holy Spirit them we are rejecting the gifts of the Holy Spirit and this final impenitence is the unforgivable sin.

    Could it be something different? I have been pondering about this for a long time, and talked about it with different people of different catholic denomimations, and had seen it in a different way (not that I think that what I have some to understand is better than what St. Thomas came to enlighen us about)... In the context of when Jesus said it I had come to understand the sin against the Holy Ghost, or Blasfemy against the Holy Ghost as to when you see the Holy Ghost in action, or the good of God being done, and atributing it to Evil, or the satan. Could that be?

    How is the "Holy Ghost" or "Holy Spirit" "holy"? The designation "holy" distinguishes the Third Person of the Trinity from the other two. So how is the "Holy Spirit" holy? Does the Bible provide us an answer?

      @@carolynkimberly4021, thanks for your reply. I understand that we're called to reckon the "Holy Spirit" as a member of the Triune Godhead. I am asking, why it's necessary to distinguish this Triune member as "holy" when we're to infer "holy" when it comes to God-the-Father and God-the-Son. What makes this "Spirit" within the Godhead holy? Though they're the same essence, how is this "Spirit" any different from the "Spirit" we associate with Father and the Son?

    • @notofthischurch2822
      @notofthischurch2822 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zerethfernandes5009, thanks for both of your responses. Though Triune, as God, God-the-Father, God-the-Son, and God-the-Holy-Spirit act as one. This "oneness" does not invalidate, explain, or substantiate why the Third Person of the Trinity is declared "Holy" while holiness is inferred with the former Persons.

    • @notofthischurch2822
      @notofthischurch2822 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mariemunzar6474, thanks for your response. Before we descend into charges of "modalism," which Trinitarians hate, I am not seeking to understand the function of the Holy Spirit. It is not a question about whether it's figurative or literal in its service within the Trinity. I am searching for what qualifies or determines what the "Holy Spirit" does as "Holy." The role of the Holy Spirit indeed goes beyond that of a divine emissary or legate. Given they are not only "God" unto themselves but unite to share a corporate "will" we recognize as "God." The role of the Holy Spirit must go beyond a superficial or disinterested role, given he has a will just as God-the-Father and God-the-Son have a will.

    i didn't find this so clear... at the end he says you can't do it invisibly, but he'd already said earlier it can't happen by ignorance (so, repetitive), therefore, what, he's saying sins of malice, doing something knowingly and willfully, (let's assume most people have commited a few) are kind of unrepentable, unpardonable ? He says that is not the case, but sort of skates over it a bit quickly... i commited some sins when younger that were a bit frivolous and i regret them the most... but i assume he doesn't wish to say a perverse will cannot be redeemed, and i think he says that is not the case, but sort of gets a bit blurry at the most important part of the presentation... felt he wanted to suggest none of the nice people watching his video could ever have any malice, not possible, so, don't worry ! felt the point on malice having the principle of unrepentance in it, needed more exploration, together with stronger clarity that such sins often are forgiven and repented of, or, i hope so. maybe important to emphasise stronger all sins are forgiveable and repentable - final refusal is the issue which most of heard on this say.

      If you are denied Confirmation, means you have proven to, precisely, not be properly formed. Which means you are purposefully denying, or failing to understand dogma.
      The fact you called it "checking Parish boxes" proves it.

      Obedience is part of formation. Unless your parish priest or, Heaven forbid, a DRE to which the priest has delegated sacramental decision making, is asking you to do something sinful, then part of formation is being obedient to that, even if you don’t like it. Unfortunately right now, horrendous confirmation programs that border on hazing riddle the church like a metastatic cancer, but the only way to change it is to get through it and do what you can to improve it. Check the parish boxes (as long as what they are asking isn’t sinful) and get confirmed.

      Christ never denies you confirmation if you believe in Him. There is no church on earth that can keep you from salvation, and no list of things you have to do aside from having faith. Faith alone allows for your Salvation. All you need is to go to Jesus directly, accept Him as your savior and Hiss sacrifice for your sins, and you will be assured eternal life in Heaven. Do not be deceived.

      @@ashlavanadis Don't make people lose paradise by false, heretical claims, please, brother. We should be here to help them, not lose them.
      The sad irony is how you yourself have been deceived to believe that but have simply not realized you have been deceived yet.
      What you say is like claiming: "I don't need to pass my exams to graduate!! I'll make my own answers, with blackjack and hookers." [that last part is a meme, in case you don't know it]. But let that sink in for a minute.

    Who is the Holy Spirit?
    From the Jesus' words (many verses) you can clearly see that HE IS ONLY WITH THE FATHER. For ex. "...will be scattered and on your own. You will leave me ALONE. Yet, I am NOT ALONE because THE FATHER is with me.". I.e. just Father and Son, no third person exists.
    Further, from his words you can see that the FATHER WITH HIM IS A SPIRIT "God [the Father] is a spirit" (Jn. 4:23,24).
    Thus, you now know that only the Father who is a spirit is with Jesus! From Mt. 12:32 you can further learn that He is called "Holy Spirit" by Jesus:
    "Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the one to come."
    In other words, "the Spirit of God" (Holy Spirit) simply is "God who is a spirit", they are not two distinct spirits.

    Father, although it is oft said that if one is sufficiently self-aware so as to ponder whether he has committed the unpardonable sin, then that human has assuredly not committed it. THAT IS FALSE. Sins of the father shall be visited upon his children, and sins of the mother shall be visited upon hers. We all know someone who has definitely committed acts of blasphemy, whether against the Father, the Son, or the Holy Ghost. But SOME of these blasphemous statements are actually against THE MOTHER. Has this ever been considered by the church doctors? It seems odd that, as to the sufferings of our saviour, one in such authority would not at least deny impediments from attaining a clear satisfaction. Of course he shall be forgiven if the sin be against the Father. Of course, he shall be forgiven if the sin is against Jesus the Christ. Of course the sin will be forgiven if it is against the spirit, BUT ONLY IF HELD WITHIN AND WITHOUT SUBSTANTIVE MEASURE. This measure, as the church, itslef, knows, is the Mother of God, the Virgin Magdalene, also known as the Virgin Mary. The unpardonable sin is unpardonable for a reason. They DON'T want you to commit it. So if anyone HAS committed it, it is only righteous and just that the person be dealt with in the fires of repentance. But they never do. This is wrong.

    If someone speaks or thinks something bad about the Holy Spirit can they be forgiven? "Verbal blasphemy or mental as described in the dictionary" - the act or offense of speaking sacrilegiously about God or sacred things; profane talk??? Or are you doomed forever because of this?
