yes they are they just got back from an england show (give it a name tour or something sick line-up im jealous) and a new album is supposedly in the works
@grohlgrohl Definitely. Diary was amazing. Fugazi's a really good example too. Emo even influenced post rock I think. Spiderland by Slint's a good example.
@whatwouldgjdo wasn't it also suppose to be on W&T but they had a publishing issue with Road Runner? Or was it ETYEWTKAS bside that was suppose to be an official W&T release?
um... actually no... technically 3rd 4th if you consider imposible shot but that was just a demo. although an ep kiss kiss bang bang is still a cd and came out before everything you ever wanted to know about silence.
This comment section... Clearly someone thought this was emo and therefore had to say something which started a plethora of bullshit. No, this isn't emo to answer your questions, but this has much more emotion than most 'real' emo you will listen to just to be clear. It's funny how much of an impact one genre made on a whole generation just because of it's name...
I've always laughed at the fact some people think that a band is powerful enough to pull certain feelings from inside someone they get classified as emo...any band that utilizes any sort of sound or energy, lyrical relation emotions are a natural result...emo should have never become a genre it just seems silly as fuck to me...I dont even know how to put glassjaw into a genre...its just music...better music than widely available especially these days
We all relate to things differently that reflect our own feelings or personal struggles....that doesnt make a band emo...it just makes them down to earth and in touch with who they aimed to spread what they created...call glawwjaw whatever genre you want...in the end glassjaw is just a group of musicians who found the absolute perfect compound of beauty and chaos that represents the conflict inside the people who feel in love with the music that probably made them feel something or identify with what they were feeling before glassjaw helped draw them a map directly inside themselves or at least around the things they couldnt control
Sucks that this song was cut from W&T due to the fact that they wrote it while on RR and RR still owned part of the rights to it... I saw them play this at Birch Hill in June 2002... All of you that say Glassjaw is broken up are freakin idiots. Daryl has said it, Beck has said it Glassjaw is not broken up. In all likelyhood they'll probally release one more album. Look how happy Daryl looks with HA how petty is it for us to wish him to be angry and ansty all the time?
I know what EMO is. And it's emotive hardcore. But that died a long time ago. In the context of the word NOW, GJ is not emo. A while ago, sure they are emotional hardcore especially their early stuff. But emo and post hardcore arent the same thing.
Btw, i don't like Weezer, and i don't care about a shitband like Weezer... Your point = Epic Fail. We like heavy badass hardcore music, like glassjaw...and Weezer isnt even near that.
its amazing that peoples lives are lame enough to make them post about a band they dont even like.... twice. and i dont think the singer is even jewish
Post-hardcore, is just a way of saying Emo before the word got bastardized. Get over yourself. if you want and saw shit like Fugazi, Jets to Brazil or Glassjaw. thats what they were called back in the day.
Boldly stated, but you are pretty much incorrect. You must not know much about the 80s hardcore scene and the music being called the bastardized term "emo".
i love convectuoso so much
My Favorite glassjaw performance ever. Send shivers down your spine. Palumbo is the man!
Simply grabs my soul...somethings in it...in this song,,,,
how can I forget? to get emotional when I sing...
1 of my greatest influence...
LOVE this song...thanks for posting!
Im in love with this song
Awesome fucking video. I've only seen them once live. If they get back together I'm never going to miss'em again.
its amazing how people actually like this band
beautiful....makes me want to cry with happiness
I finally found it. After hearing this one, I'm not so sure... I like the studio version but so much passion in this one...
i really love them i want them to make another cd
This could definitely be the best video I have ever seen!!
oh my god.. "I AM THE FUCKING BUTCHER" brings a tear to my eye
too right man, its spoiling such an awesome performance.
I would literally give my left ball to hear the studio version of this song
Old school 'staring at the amp' style! Class.
straight edge is the best singer ever, ha is a total project change, and he pulled it off. GJ 4 life man cant wait for the new album
Larry Gorman, He's drumming for Head Automatica now. He was drumming on EYEWTKAS. So good.
yes they are they just got back from an england show (give it a name tour or something sick line-up im jealous)
and a new album is supposedly in the works
@joshingledew It's a EYEWTKAS B-side. You can get the re-release of it, with this and like 2 other songs on it.
This is my first time listening to them. They sound pretty good. Can anyone tell me what their best songs are so that I can listen to them?
@grohlgrohl Definitely. Diary was amazing. Fugazi's a really good example too. Emo even influenced post rock I think. Spiderland by Slint's a good example.

GlassJaw ! fuck yeah !!
thank you, much appreciated
i'm in the same boat as you man
their sound is amazing,
what kind of gear does beck use?
um... actually no...
technically 3rd
4th if you consider imposible shot but that was just a demo.
although an ep kiss kiss bang bang is still a cd and came out before everything you ever wanted to know about silence.
heh glassjaw has 3 CD's dude. But thanks for playing!
It's on El Mark.
@tytygood ABSOLUTELY CORRECT. Tired of people fucking that up. A really good example of early emo is Weezer's Pinkerton.
they all fucking rule!
@jontheliar kinda old now dude. but its a bomb arse song. Love that riff and the bluesy jazzy beat.
I can't listen to this unless I'm fucked up...and I'm not right now!
perfect!
@jontheliar its called youve seen the butcher...
Glass jaw is the shit. Ha is a step down. They only had two major albums. THen a whole bunch of demos and EP's
@BeefMastahFlex thats a deftones song, this is convectuoso, right?
@snoop23foo this is jontheliar....new as in on the new cd....
me tooooooooo! =[

what went wrong inside your head?
and wow, 11 people really didn't like this that much too push the dislike button? I just can't see how thats even possible.
this is NOT EMO.. PLEASE DO NOT INSULT THEM IN SUCH A HARSH WAY
Sucks that this song was cut from W&T due to the fact that they wrote it while on RR and RR still owned part of the rights to it...

Who is the beef and who is the fucking butcher?!
GJ was never EMO
Glassjaw is one of my favorite bands ever. Head Automatica's first CD blew me away, the second one sucked.
lol, ozzfest...
I know what EMO is. And it's emotive hardcore. But that died a long time ago. In the context of the word NOW, GJ is not emo. A while ago, sure they are emotional hardcore especially their early stuff. But emo and post hardcore arent the same thing.
...
Well clearly that wasn't this performance...
not in the sense the word is used now, no.
Btw, i don't like Weezer, and i don't care about a shitband like Weezer...

Dont be annoyed at me because this band sucks. Not my fault.
who was their drummer then, he's an animal, i like that guy
