We went to fish after some salmon in badder elva in nord troms. 2 days trip and 3 fishes home, we used 2 handed fly fishing equipment, and some wobblers from finland
yea those fishes what are just coming to river or been at river short time havent changed color yet, meat was really super red, more red than on normal atlantic salmon and meat was nice and compact, not so much fat. so perfect for cold smoking :)
This is amazing! Thanks so much for sharing!! I am visiting in July, please tell me where I can get a permit to fish here? And the price? If you are fishing in July it would be great to meet you up there! Thanks for such a great video :)
Thanks a lot for watching! and july is great time to fish there, end of july and start of august is my favourite, low water and see a lot of salmons. well you need to remember this, first you need to buy normal goverment fishing card, then you can buy river lisences like in badder you can buy then from inatur.no, costs 200 nok per day, 700 nok for week. later they are available. not yet because season havent started, then you need to desinfect your gear, all of it what goes to river, and you will get certificate. if you dont have the paper, its going to cost a lot lol 😂
@@FishingwithJaska thank you so much for the reply, I really appreciate it! Okay so I can buy both licence from that website? And where can I disinfect my fishing gear? I will definitely message you when I arrive, it would be great to meet you :)
@@lancemontaigue6511 you can get goverment lisense by writing statskort in google, thats where you pay the main license, not expensive.. 300 kr per year.. the the salmon license from inatur or local shop in kvaenangen. there is only one.. cant miss lol and disinfect in same place and you are ready to go
Question from a dumb American: I thought Norway had Atlantic salmon, not Pacific salmon. Are Pacific salmon raised and stocked in Norway? Thanks, Steve
You are quite correct, originally norway does not have any pacific salmon, but it was planted in the arctic region by russians, somewhere around kola peninsula i think, and has been spreading like a wildfire since then. So now its spreading a lot, some ppl think its bad thing, some ppl think its good thing. im slowly tilting to direction its a good thing. Its eatable meat, good nice lean perfect for cold smoking. and its giving nutritions to the river and for next years fish babys when the rotting carcases are all over the place. And it seems it does not affect on atlantic salmon spawning, i saw this my self now on 2 different rivers. =D
Bonjour! like,nice vlog! Fishing~
Bonjour! thanks a lot, great to hear you like fishing aswell!
I caught some pacific salmon as well, but the one you caught looked very silvery. Was it good quality. quality ? Nice video.😄

Good fighters too. Not as fast or acrobatic as the Atlantics but very powerful.@@FishingwithJaska
Yeah i have seen that =D i caught them this season over 25 =D can bend proper salmon spinner rod or fly rod quite nicely!

They where Finnish : Karikko wobblers - Porras 7 is the model, so 7 cm long. Also Kalapele - Vekku works well thats 6 cm! btw thanks for watching!
