I used Tyler's service to find and recommend my outdoor antenna. It is so worth it, You will save a sh*tload of time and money. And, the best part was you can ask him questions as you install etc. He responds quickly. It's a no-brainer fee IMO. Good luck
I recently hired a tv antenna installer. The gentleman has been in business for over 40 years pushing 80yo. He was slow but thorough. He installed this same channel master with a booster and 5g filter. Gotta say I'm satisfied I get all the local channels and then some and I live in a hilly heavily forested area. It works that's all that really matters.
Your channel always takes me back to the 1970's, when I worked for a Channel Master antenna dealer/distributor in upstate NY. We sold a ton of Channel Master TV antennas, and it was common knowledge that the model 1110 and 3617 antennas were as good as it gets. We had several installers who regularly sold and installed stacked 3617's with a Channel Master booster and rotator. That combination was unbelievable. Ah, the good old days...
Ahh, The good old days. I still have a 1973 26 in Color Trak RCA console tv in my basement that works fine (Just had to upgrade to a digital converter and antenna. For a tube the color is quite respectical. ( never been serviced) 🤔 oops! I may have just jinxed myself.
I started my company after my long career as a TV Broadcast RF engineer. I was closely involved in the development of Digital TV from 1986-1998 and I supervised the installation of the Network and PBS broadcast antennas for the very first ATSC 1.0 digital OTA transmissions. I love your channel and your very accurate review of Cannel Master's Pro-Model OTA antenna! Mostly in preparation of ATSC 3.0 that will likely launch by end of December 2022 we've installed 16 Pro-Model antennas in attics and rooftops and the performance has been excellent. I will be adding the VHF and UHF extensions for a few of our clients, but most are performing very well as we're only 25 miles from the World Trade Center where the broadcast antennas are located. Thank for the great work and I will refer my clients to your TH-cam channel.
I would expect better out of Channel Master! They had a perfectly good one called a Quantum which was bullit proof & better quality than this Pro series
I'm really thinking I should have chosen this antenna with the extensions. I live in a village sized city . It's not a good spot and I've been spying all the old antenna setups in town . It seems the answers back in the day were a rotator with a tower and /or multi antenna setup.
I have the same antenna with both extensions and live about 31 miles from the broadcast towers in Philadelphia. I can pick up WPVI-6 and any low VHF stations in our area. I mounted this antenna outside on the roof and can pick up 100 channels. This antenna is doing an excellent job for me.
I just finished hooking up my "Insane Gain" passive VHF and UHF antenna from Top Notch Antennas....I paired it with a Televes signal booster and I am VERY impressed with the results. It's pulling in a channel 93 miles away and holding on to the signal! All other channels are between 48 and 52 miles away and it's holding all signals excellent. It's a Veteran owned company out of Indiana and I recommend them if it matters to anyone
I bought one of those. I'm thinking this Channel Master is the one I should have chosen. I wanna try it versus the Insane Gain. The performance of the Insane gain is good I think, but I think this one might be even more bang for the buck.
Tyler, I would like to make 1 comment based entirely upon watching likely every video you have put out on TH-cam. 1- Where comparisons against previously reviewed antenna's is great, BEST would be to use Antenna 1 as 1 of your top recommended antenna's of similar size & then your last antenna reviewed. What this would accomplish is to give viewers a better baseline point of comparison. You could even include recommended sales price as a top quality Televes, Channel Master, Antennas Direct, Winegard etc all have higher baseline prices for their higher product range. In this way you would defeat the single recommendation issue but allow viewers a substantially better basis of comparison. ***Personally I own & currently have on masts a few months old Televes DatBoss LR Mix, a 2 year old Televes Ellipse Mix & a Clearstream 2V. Previously I owned an Antenna Direct DB8 which I set up at my Mother-in-laws where it performs excellent on towers within 60 moles.
Sometimes I wonder if these sponsored antennas go up against two poor performing antennas that just always happens to be the last two antennas he just reviewed. I think it would be great to see them all compared together. Have a bracket breakdown comparison matching them all up.
I took your advice and purchased it early spring 2023. Works better than my old antenna. Small enough to deal with ice storms here in the Catskill mountains NY. Also i use a roter motor
I built my own, used a model shown on some website, then added to it with reflector... we are 80 miles from stations in Mpls' metro, 34 from St. Cloud, we get 'em all no problem. I used real copper & brass, everything soldered, will never lose a connection.
Another excellent review. Channel Master recommended this antenna for my location in Maine. Some people balk at the price, but I believe that the quality and being Made in USA are worth the money!
Yet another great video. If antenna manufactures would only post DB gain at specific frequencies and 3 DB beam width, we would be able to compare antennas. No, they just try to sucker us in by saying miles. There are so many variables when it comes into signal strength that you better live in the flat lands. Even trees have an effect. I can't get WNEP TV only because of the tree in my front yard. Come winter, no leaves, their signal is strong enough that I can watch it. Keep up those great videos neighbor. Yes..... you are across the river from me. Ha Ha Barry
$220 is a lot considering offering’s from others that have an amp and 5g filter. It does still interest me somewhat do to the size as I’m still contemplating something for my camper trailer that will out preform the factory KingJack. Thank you for the review
Your info is awesome. I paid for your premium setup advice about a year ago. Well worth. I got a huge email with every possible detail laid out nicely. Lots of good info. Thanks
Wanted to say thankx for sharing your opinions and information on this subject. I purchased the CMP and followed the information on the website, and I couldn't be happier. No more COMCAST... FINALLY! I'm 25 miles NE of PHL and the signal is great. 60 some channels came up.
We have the Channel Master Pro with a 30 mile UHF addition. The signal is amplified through a Channel Master signal amp. We get excellent Madison, WI, reception--58 air miles from Rockford, IL. Elevation is 850 ft. and antenna mounting is about 25 feet AGL.
Woohoo! About time you reviewed this antenna. Though I went ahead and went with the Televes 148883 Antenna Ellipse Mix Repack Ready instead for a family member. Antenna is very repairable and upgradable that will probably work a little bit better with Channel Masters 2 newer modern pass through pre-amplifiers.
Like your video. It’s very good info. I’m in a small town and about 40 to 60 miles from a tower. I had antenna like cleartv one. I had it placed in a window in a closet and only got 3 channels. When I started checking into what types of antennas I came a cross using a rca antenna outside facing west with a high gain with another antenna facing south in a window with a low gain. All of it is tied in together before the tv and I ended up getting 10 channels. The rca antenna is about 40 mile range and the other antenna has 85 miles range. I know the tree line doesn’t help signal but the way I have it. I do get at least 10 channels then 3 with a low gain. I even add at least one low gain at the tv location because of how long the cable was.
I wish Channel Master would update their large antennas like they did with this small antenna seen in this video. Have it look more modern, high quality metal, plastic/rubber tips on the ends of the elements, etc. Mostly update the large antennas for better reception.
With an antenna you'll get some sub channels that play exclusively the classics which are from an era when TV was worth watching. You should consider getting one.
Watched a couple of your videos to figure out which antenna I needed to purchase. Thanks to a little knowledge you imparted on me, I didn't need to buy an antenna! I connected the copper core of coax cable to my 35' alum sailboat mast and got 145 channels in Long Beach Ca harbor but couldn't get ABC 7 (VHF 7). After learning from you that horizontal dipoles pick up VHF, I just moved the boom for my mast a little to the side (it was pointing directly toward the tower on Mt. Wilson). Picking up VHF 7 at low tide during a rainstorm tonight with solid signal. Thank you Antenna Man!
I Upgraded to this Antenna from the Channel Master STEALTHtenna and now we get around 96 Channel's with it Split between two TV'S using a Powered Splitter and I've gotta say the build quality of both Antenna's are great and both Antenna's especially the Pro Model came very well packaged. Channel Master knows what they are doing with these Antenna's but the Pro Model is definitely built better than the STEALTHtenna and it will get you more Channels especially when compared to the STEALTHtenna because the Pro Model is just a larger Antenna with more Gain and it's Upgradable for even more Gain. What I like about both of the Antenna's is they are simple and they don't have any moving parts on them so if it's bad Weather the Signal doesn't mess up like on most Antenna's especially larger Antenna's which tend to have moving parts. I'm also able to get Trash 6ABC with the Pro Model without the Upgradable attachment option I was also able to get 6ABC with the STEALTHtenna but that's because I'm not that far from Philadelphia I'm in New Jersey so if your far away from Philadelphia you might not get 6ABC with either of these Antenna's or you might have to get an Amplifier so just keep that in mind. Overall both Antenna's especially the Pro Model feels like it will last in Weather for Years over even forever as soon as I took it out of the box I was wowed by the quality so I definitely recommend Channel Master Antenna's.
Hey Tyler, I gave this antenna a shot after watching this video and I couldn't be happier. I had an old Roof top antenna. I forget what it was, but it was a rectangular shape about 2 feet tall about 18" wide (looked alot like the Channel Master ULTRAtenna 60). I'm in Bucks County outside of Philadelphia. I could get CBS, NBC and Fox, but ABC and MyTV, CW, etc were all either completely or mostly unusable. Now with this antenna everything is coming in great at a full 100% strength, even 6ABC. I did get the VHF extension specifically to help with 6ABC.
I have a Channel Master Antenna, the "Digital Advantage 60". It is a medium sized traditional antenna. I needed the large VHF section, as we have 4 stations in our area that broadcast on VHF, including our local PBS station that broadcasts on VHF channel 5! The antenna works great for both VHF and UHF. I also have a Channel Master pre-amp and a Channel Master 4-way distribution amplifier, and a Channel Master DVR+. I guess I like Channel Master equipment. For the cost of about two months of cable bills I have a system that gives me over 40 channels, solid strong reception, and the ability to record TV. With no monthly bills!
I have to say the tech support at ChannelMaster is very good. For reasons I’ll skip here, I had to know the compression point and damage level of their preamp, which isn’t published. I was actually able to get to someone who could answer and give me the specs. No way I’d ever get that from made in China junk. I’ve been running a ChannelMaster antenna + preamp for 2 years, and it’s working quite well.
Tyler knows exactly what he's doing. I stacked 2 CM Pro's on my balcony facing a block wall and they are working good. A televes elip in between facing the other way at the screen. I get 27 stations, 135 total channels. Delete Spanish & shopping channels 28 = 107 preferred channels. all from a 2nd floor. Yep, I'm using the televes SmartKom.
I'm still sporting a 25+ year old antenna on a pole that is 14' long. It works great with no boosters, no extras at all. Recieves around 30 channels pointed in one direction.
Good video Tyler and thank you for your recent recommendation. After seeing this video I'm gonna go with your recommendation on the Winegard antenna. If I went with CM recommendation I would've probably been replacing an existing antenna with roughly the same performance. Keep those videos coming.
I am using the UHF only version of this WITHOUT the amplifier, I do live in a very strong signal area, and it’s mounted in my attic/loftspace and works fine for me
I think more companies should offer atnenna extensions! I still have an old Wade-Delhi UHF power zoom that you just added on to the front of the UHF yagi antenna to increase the gain. I did an extension on my own with my current Antennas Direct 91XG, I bought 2 and stole the middle boom section from one, and added it to the other. This increased my gain and stabilized my signal during inclement weather
Small Antennas as Tyler said are only good 40 miles and under. In changing seasons Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter reception widely varies. Spring/Summer warm winds and conditions will bring distant stations in on a small antenna. Come Fall/Winter small antennas don’t cut it meaning your getting a “No Signal”. So if your building antenna systems cut there mileage claims in half. The CM4228 8 Bay is claimed at 80 miles. Yes it can do it under prime conditions. But come Fall/Winter it drops off. Look to install two 8 bays to make up for poor reception conditions in the Fall/Winter with fog, rain, snow, etc.
I’m using that RCA antenna at 3’ 1” in my attic and I’m getting all channels but I am only 15 miles from the antenna tower site and all the local Houston stations broadcast from there. All signals are excellent. RCA has an app for iPhone and Android to accurately aim your antenna to ghff Ed signal source.
I got the biggest best wineguard antenna and antenna amp and I was getting great reception then channel 69 went, followed by 3 and 10, 39, and some others. I think some of the issue is the coax cable. But it is hard to find coax local and when you do it's usually monster brand and seems to small to be any good.
Adding a CM-7777-8 will end all your signal issues. I’ve used this antenna without extensions with the CM-7778 and got great reception almost 100 miles from Atlanta. It is the best build quality antenna I’ve used.
Preamps job is to make up for lost signal in Long cable runs and connections with Splitters Downstream. It cannot make the antenna pick a signal up better.
@bobh.4580 yes it does. If you check signal with a meter at the antenna as an example, you may get a channel at -35 dB, and another will not even register. With the pre amp that same signal at the antenna will jump to -10 db and the other channel will show up at maybe -25 which is strong enough to watch. If an amp is used to far away from the antenna most of the time the results are poor.
You are absolutely right about the Channel Master 3020. We installed ours 40’ up on our 3 floor house approximately 65 miles east of New York City in 2009. We have the CM rotator to aim it at NYC, Hartford CT, New Haven CT and Providence RI. We get WCBS and their substations at 2.0-2.4 best. WNBC 4.0and WNYW 5.0 we can’t pick up. We get WABC 7.0 WNHT 8.0 WPIX 11.0 WNET 13.0 and about 40 UHF various stations from Middletown NJ, Long Island, Connecticut and Rhode Island. We never had cable always over the air. We also don’t mind an antenna way up on the 3rd floor gable. I read the 3020 is discontinued? That’s a mistake on Channel Masters part. Why drop an exceptional product? Love your channel Antenna guy. We happen to be a bit lucky living in the largest television market in the United States and on a flat island adjacent to Flat Manhattan with its broadcast Antennas aimed to reach out to nearly the Hamptons.
As far as I'm aware the antenna is not discontinued. Channel Master just has had a lot of stock issues since they shifted the production of their antennas from China to Bulgaria.
You pay a lot for what you get. I would peg this as a 35-mile antenna. Something like the CM-2016 might give similar performance for a bit less coin -- it is more directional however.
The wire connecting the 2 diapole should be connected in a x format , meaning the vhf diapole on the right should connect to the uhf diapole on the left for it to work efficiently on this antenna.
8 bay bowtie UHF works fabulous for fringe areas like NE PA works fabulous actually it even picks up VHF . I was in satellite TV antenna business for 40 years up in Sullivan Co. Propagation in NE PA can be rough the 8 Bay gets it done quite effectively. Also get a uhf vhf preamp like a Channel master or Blonder Tongue for long runs . Keep up the great work ! I see your from NEPA I used to work in Pittston Radio City in the 80s .
I would LOVE to have a large antenna. I just can't afford them. $180-$200+ Is just out of the question. So we're stuck trying to make do with sub $50 junk.
Hi Tyler. Glad to see you're doing ok and you still have a great sense of humor. lol. I need to ask you if I need to buy 1.) the advantage 100 2.) the digital advantage 100 3.) the masterpiece 100 ??? I live out here in Viola Arkansas in the middle of a holler and lots of trees around. I have one substantial Hill to my West. But I don't know anybody better to ask for better advice on this than you. I figure well I've got the money I might as well get the correct one for out here in the middle of nowhere.
for $150 it makes more sense to get the Televes elipse mix which has a build in preamp and 5G filter with also better VHF performance at almost the same price
I have the Televes Ellipse Mix & it is exceptional up to 60 miles thru trees. I also have a Televes DatBoss LR Mix & sincerely doubt there is a better antenna on the market. It brings in 2 towers located a few degrees apart 70 miles away thru trees on a 20 foot pole crystal even during weather with no noise interference.
Tyler, I live in Ohio and understand your point about signal range. But I would like to point out that I used to live in Denver Co. The stations have towers on top of 9,000 foot mountaintops and you can have visual contact with them from extremely far distances based on the terrain. Maybe some of the claims made by the manufacturers are more accurate in areas similar to Denver. 🤷🏻♂️
The antenna itself is $149 but by the time you buy the mast and the bracket, which are sold separately, we're talking about $225 for the whole set up. I'm still considering it. I'm 22 miles from the broadcast towers. But my local CBS tower is 43 miles on VHF 9, WWTV.
There are better antennas out there for a lower price. You can find a list of them below: www.amazon.com/shop/antennaman/list/2LH365VAPDKLC?tag=onamztylerkle-20&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d
I always liked db to figure gain. No one seems to do that anymore. I'd like a small form factor antenna with high gain. It has to be used inside on the ceiling or against a wall. 50-60 miles.
The larger Channel Master antennas are quite pricey. I guess you get what you pay for. The other issue for me is getting such a large antenna on my 30 foot Rohn 25 by myself, Getting it hoisted up without damaging it is one problem and manhandling it onto the mast is another. Having 2 people up on the tower to do this makes me nervous. So, I'm going with a smaller antenna and hope it gets the job done. I'm about 30-40 miles from the broadcast towers.
I still have this 12 foot long directional antenna from my childhood its nolonger in use because a tree limb fell and broke the connection points where the coax connects one day i will see about repairing it,
I appreciate the technical content but as an aging retired RF engineer I don't understand what the % quality measurement actually means. How does it relate to S/N ratio or BER (bit error rate)? I am more familiar with antenna measurements showing a polar plot of gain in dBi (relative to isotropic) vs angle.
Hello Antenna Man...very informative videos, I'm looking to cut the cord but have a question...does installing an outdoor antenna in your attic significantly diminish reception? I'm in a fairly level area within 30 miles from NYC...thanks
Hi I just ordered the Channel Master Pro through your link. I also ordered a 50 foot coax cable & their amplifier. Will the amplifier work with this antenna? Or does the antenna have a built in amp that would conflict with the separate amplifier? We are at Noble, Missouri & less than 70 miles direct from Springfield or Branson, Missouri I am tired of cheap antennas. 40+ years ago I had a Channel Master antenna on 60 foot tower. We had reception well over 200 miles whith analog TV. From Chicago to Minneapolis to Green Bay & Madison & Milwaukee. We quit using it when we subscribed to Direct TV. Should have taken it with when we moved. We had to drop the subscription & go OA-TV to cut our budget enough to survive on our Social Security only income. Cheap antennas can't stand much weather.
we have a few tv station towers coming from the northeast direction, but the main channels are from the south. Not sure if it is OK to just get like a signal splitter and point a smaller antenna to the northeast (mainly for just a few channels), and then point an antenna like the Channel Master pro in the south direction. I dont understand if having two antennas connected like that, would interfere with each other. There is one cable coming into the house from the roof, for the current antenna (it is smaller and would like to try this better antenna)
Yes we now have a Channel 2 low band in Fort Wayne. this has been an all UHF city since the early 1950's. Now we have a channel 2. All homes here have had UHF only aerials. Now it is hard to convince customers to replace everything with a combo all channel model. We do have a High band channel 12. It is 23 miles to the North east of the main antenna farm. But wait now VHF 12 has an application to move 12 to the main antenna farm. I can't keep up with this fiasco.
I love in Brown Summit north Carolina, channel master recommended their pro model with uhf extension. I wonder if their cm 3020 would do better. What is your opinion?
I now offer antenna recommendations for a small fee at the link below. One from me can prevent you from spending hundreds of dollars and time wasted on setting up the wrong antenna for your area. antennamanpa.com/antenna-recommendations.html
Great continuing coverage of all things antenna. Just one question at this time: what's the best way of removing one of those thin, pliable, flat antennas from a window pane without possibly breaking the window? It's "permanently" attached in three spots.
@@derrickhilsbos101 Thanks for your reply. However, have you seen this kind of antenna? There is no tape. The thin, flat, pliable antenna binds to the window glass in three spots and resists any attempt to remove it.
Was recently watching the channel master pro but was weird to me they says was VHF compatible when I only see the elements for UHF and nothing else from the boom and offer a module for extend range I prefer instead of miles range they tell the gain in decibels so can judge if is an indoor antenna but for outdoors or not and how will perform knowing the gain in Db
Can I ask a question: Im in Pittsburgh and the FOX ATSC 3.0 tower is only about 2 miles from me and can see it line of sight. The ATSC 1.0 broadcast comes in fine on my normal TV but the ATSC 3.0 on my Sony A80j the picture espcially on news brodcasts looks all glittery on blues and reds and sometimes the people have a glittery blue halo around them. The other 2 ATSC 3.0 channels come in fine and they are further away but they are broadcasting in 1080 HD and the FOX is I think 720 HD. The picture used to be ok so I amnot sure what happened. I have adjusted my 70mi attic antenna with no change, I do have a long coax cable run....I do know weather in the past has had an effect on the 3.0 signal where the televison sometimes would take 2-3 minutes to grab onto the signal. In your expierence is this an antenna issue or a broadcast station issue? The signal strenth is 67-70. Or would this be a need for an amp? Thanks
This is similar in design to the Wal Mart tv antenna I hope to use for Pittsburgh and another one like it for channels 7 and 9 for Steubenville, Ohio and Wheeling, West Virginia.
I'm learning a lot from your videos. My question is, if I'm in a recessed area with many trees very close by if i point my antenna 45 degrees upwards help to clear the trees?
No, that wouldn't help much since TV signals come from the horizon. If you get drop outs on windy days you'll need a larger antenna. Consider an antenna recommendation from me at the link below. This can prevent you from spending hundreds of dollars and time wasted on setting up the wrong antenna for your area. antennamanpa.com/antenna-recommendations.html
I used to get 11-2 Antenna tv and 11-4 rewind ⏪ tv retro comedy tv shows in New York and now when I rescan it the screen shows the stations 🚉 and channel names with two bars and then it says no signal. Those two channels appear in my channel list. Do I need an antenna that has a built in amplifier or only the amplifier?
Tyler I was wondering if that optional VHF extension can be added to a Clearstream 4v antenna to allow it VHF lo capability or is there a VHF lo extension kit that can be added to a Clearstream 4v. I’m currently using a 2v max but I do have 1 VHF lo NBC out of Killeen TX.
I really have no clue how this ended up in my recommended feed, and don't really need an antenna, but you've managed to pique my interest in the subject anyways.
We've got condo's behind us in the direction we'd have to face an antenna. And - we're also at the bottom of a small incline that goes up to the condos, which makes them about ten feet higher than they actually are. I guess that means we can't cut the cable if we want local TV.
This doesn't mean you won't get reception. TV signals, like light, diffract off objects. They don't get "blocked" unless the signals are weak to begin with. Consider an antenna recommendation from me at the link below. This can prevent you from spending hundreds of dollars and time wasted on setting up the wrong antenna for your area. antennamanpa.com/antenna-recommendations.html
I enjoy these antenna videos. I looked up Atlanta Georgia on the Website called Antenna Web, and it says that with an Antenna, if you live in Atlanta Georgia, you can get up to like 119 Channels from like 29 Over The Air Stations. In Duluth, Georgia, it is up to 149 Channels from over 37 Over The Air Stations. That's a lot of channels to get with an Antenna. Las Vegas, Nevada is the same way too. Some States, you'll likely only get like 2 Stations, and only a hand full of channels, and in Southern Georgia, it's the same way. Anyone looking to move to Georgia, and don't want to get stuck with having to pay a monthly bill for cable or a satellite dish service to get TV, don't go to Southern Georgia, go to Northern Georgia instead, because that's how you get over 100 Channels with an Antenna.
I've been to my cousin's house in Chicago. He has a Channel Master antenna and has it mounted in the attic. He is getting 200 channels on it. He gets everyone of the channels from Chicago, Kankakee, Illinois ( 3 channels),Gary, Indiana, Kokomo, Indiana, Rockford, Illinois, Detroit, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I live in Quincy, Illinois and I have bought one as I mentioned in a post to Antenna Man and it just didn't work for me. I'm using doorbell wire for an antenna and pulling in 32 channels. Quincy, Illinois is only to receive 20 O.T.A. channels on a Channel Master antenna. So I'm pulling in 12 more channels on the doorbell wire than that antenna recommended for channels.
@@michaelodell3675 Wow, your cousin gets a lot of channels, and all of those channels come from a TV Antenna? If so, that's great. You know, there's people who are paying like up to over $300 a month for cable tv, and that's over $300 a month, just to watch tv. Now, isn't that crazy? Satellite Dish Service Companies charge up to like $399.99 a month. Crazy, isn't it?
@@robh.5658 There's a few streaming services that have cable tv channels on it that's a lot cheaper than cable tv. For instance You Tube TV has 115 channels for $70 and you can get the major networks TNT,TBS,USA, FREEFORM, HALLMARK CHANNEL,and many others. But it only streams off the internet. There's Fubo TV for $75 and it also has cable tv channels on it There's Sling, DirecTV stream, Hulu plus live tv,and Amazon Prime TV. Those are definitely cheaper than cable tv and you get up to 225 channels for $70-80 a month. You Tube TV and Fubo TV have local channels on it. ( ABC,CBS,FOX,CW,PBS,ION,ME- TV,MY NETWORK TV) and a few others. If you want to save money on cable tv that will be the way to go. My cousin doesn't need cable tv to enjoy all those channels he gets up there in Chicago. With those 200 channels he gets he always finds stuff to watch on TV
Tyler - Nice review, So based on this I think I decided not the best model. What do you think of these 2 models Advantage 100 $199 Digital Advantage 100 $180 I figure about amount $200 is my upper limit for a good antenna. These both are bigger which is better, but not sure which one if the better of the two. Thanks
my 2 indoor antennas, connected to the TV via a splitter, are less than 5' from the TV. The cables are 10' long and coiled now. Would it help reception if I shortened the cable?
Even with a strong signal on my antenna (indoor) I keep getting signal break-ups, mainly on my VHF real channel 12 sub channels, could it be caused by cell signals? I have a cell tower about a mile away!! Do I need a Cell Filter??

Thanks for watching my TH-cam videos and the referrals!
Thank you so much. Picked un this antenna, and WOW got 70 channels. Thanks a million.
I just finished hooking up my "Insane Gain" passive VHF and UHF antenna from
Top Notch Antennas....I paired it with a Televes signal booster and I am VERY impressed with the results.
@@gab21121151 What Tyler is doing also is promoting his advisory service which is why he doesn't show every antenna based against top performers.
I took your advice and purchased it early spring 2023. Works better than my old antenna. Small enough to deal with ice storms here in the Catskill mountains NY. Also i use a roter motor
this antenna works great over 100 channels
Ha Ha
Barry
$220 is a lot considering offering’s from others that have an amp and 5g filter. It does still interest me somewhat do to the size as I’m still contemplating something for my camper trailer that will out preform the factory KingJack.
Thank you for the review
Televes is the brand to buy!
You definitely made the right decision with the Ellipse !
Awesome job as always! I cut the cord yesterday with help from you! Thank you!
You told me everything I needed to know in record time. Thanks for making a great channel.
I wish Channel Master would update their large antennas like they did with this small antenna seen in this video. Have it look more modern, high quality metal, plastic/rubber tips on the ends of the elements, etc. Mostly update the large antennas for better reception.
I don't even own a TV, but I love this channel! Cheer's from Milwaukee Wisconsin 🇺🇲🧀🍻.
With an antenna you'll get some sub channels that play exclusively the classics which are from an era when TV was worth watching. You should consider getting one.
I’m also in MKE, about a block from Lake Michigan and able to pick up Chicago and Michigan channels with a roof antenna from solid signal.

The Antenna Man is the go to person for antennas!
Their junk is made in China.
Your totally right.. spec the antenna for your area. what your signal is. I did.
Thanks for your good work ❤️❤️
Adding a CM-7777-8 will end all your signal issues.
Tyler...It's a Yagi. Your favorite style of antenna.
the Wayne Rodger TV reviewer. Nice review.
Had to put exenetions on my attena to pick certain channels to pick up others to see them, since they changed frequencies.
I would LOVE to have a large antenna. I just can't afford them. $180-$200+ Is just out of the question. So we're stuck trying to make do with sub $50 junk.
Hi Tyler. Glad to see you're doing ok and you still have a great sense of humor. lol. I need to ask you if I need to buy
1.) the advantage 100
2.) the digital advantage 100
3.) the masterpiece 100

I live out here in Viola Arkansas in the middle of a holler and lots of trees around. I have one substantial Hill to my West. But I don't know anybody better to ask for better advice on this than you. I figure well I've got the money I might as well get the correct one for out here in the middle of nowhere.
It is Channel Master, so I knew it would be good.
for $150 it makes more sense to get the Televes elipse mix which has a build in preamp and 5G filter with also better VHF performance at almost the same price
Great video everything proven you can't never leave nothing alone now days
Looks like a well made antenna but for what you get for the price I'd probably skip over it and go with a televes antenna.
Thanks
COOP
...

Thank you very informative.
Nice,far review well done 👏
Great information. Is an attic antenna's range reliable enough vs. the outdoor antennas?
See video below: th-cam.com/video/TGmKDhL3lTA/w-d-xo.html
Please please please , give your update about MOHU outdoor over the roof antenna. Thanks
I still have this 12 foot long directional antenna from my childhood its nolonger in use because a tree limb fell and broke the connection points where the coax connects one day i will see about repairing it,
I wonder how the base model compares with an RCA ANT 751.
I was wondering the same. The RCA ANT 751 is still the best small antenna imo (with the original designed tetrapole uhf element)
I have an old Kay Town with a 10 foot double boom.Should it work for me?
I appreciate the technical content but as an aging retired RF engineer I don't understand what the % quality measurement actually means. How does it relate to S/N ratio or BER (bit error rate)? I am more familiar with antenna measurements showing a polar plot of gain in dBi (relative to isotropic) vs angle.
Great video
Hello Antenna Man...very informative videos, I'm looking to cut the cord but have a question...does installing an outdoor antenna in your attic significantly diminish reception? I'm in a fairly level area within 30 miles from NYC...thanks
Early in the video you said the VHF extension was only necessary for low VHF, but at 6:35 you said the VHF extension helped to receive VHF channel 13?
Hi
I just ordered the Channel Master Pro through your link.
Still doing lots of research on getting a outdoors antenna,
A polar graph would be nice (receive angle) since in my area, most sigs are at 138 deg and 4 are at 60 deg. A rotor is no option.
Wondering how this compares to the clearstream 4v. Think I'm deciding between these two
we have a few tv station towers coming from the northeast direction, but the main channels are from the south. Not sure if it is OK to just get like a signal splitter and point a smaller antenna to the northeast (mainly for just a few channels), and then point an antenna like the Channel Master pro in the south direction. I dont understand if having two antennas connected like that, would interfere with each other. There is one cable coming into the house from the roof, for the current antenna (it is smaller and would like to try this better antenna)
hey could you do a thing on you tube about meaning and color charts on antenna web where they have the yellow red ect
Tyler i have a question sir ,are you still around?
Use a thin putty knife gently working against the tape holding the antenna on the window.
Tylor how would steel beams in a hud building 3 floor affect my signal for over the air tv
See video below: th-cam.com/video/VIbLtjxdEHY/w-d-xo.html
Tyler I was wondering if that optional VHF extension can be added to a Clearstream 4v antenna to allow it VHF lo capability or is there a VHF lo extension kit that can be added to a Clearstream 4v. I’m currently using a 2v max but I do have 1 VHF lo NBC out of Killeen TX.
Did you use a (pre)amplifier while testing this antenna? Think it would improve much?
So long as it's got HD then it's good enough for me!
😂
So which long range antenna is best, not cheap metal and can handle high winds and weather beating storms?
Do you know how it performs compared with the extreme 80 miles? , looking to buy an antenna, im located in florida
I might get this one, I have one of those wives, and I'm only 21 miles south of Mt Baldy, where most of LA's transmitters are located.
Tyler - Nice review, So based on this I think I decided not the best model. What do you think of these 2 models Advantage 100 $199
Digital Advantage 100 $180 I figure about amount $200 is my upper limit for a good antenna.
