His timely support proved instrumental in the British effort to quell the uprising and retain control over India.
Yet, the extent of Jung Bahadur's involvement goes beyond mere assistance. In a controversial move, he and his troops were granted a free license to raid and plunder the city of Lucknow, resulting in what came to be known as the "Lucknow Loot." This event not only saw the acquisition of vast riches but also witnessed horrifying atrocities committed by Jung Bahadur's forces.

Jungey Dai did a good job in my opinion.
- Helping powerful British during their tough time would ensure they would never attack Nepal (at least under Jungey’s reign). And this would ensure his power.
2. Jungey dai knew, Indian revolt would soon run out of ammunition, weapon and manpower. They would not sustain the mutiny.
3. Indians never saw us as brothers. They were and still to date, want Nepal to be totally dependant upon India. India does not want a powerful and independent Nepal.
4. If Jungey dai would have assisted Indian mutiny, this would create his own grave, and he knew it well during his England visit.
5. Only mistake he did was that he did not ask for termination of ‘Sugauli sandhi’. And contented with Bakey Bardiya, Kanchanpur and Kailali.
Just my evaluation of the event… I might be wrong though…

Even if Nepal had supported Indians the British would have won anyways as the mutiny was sporadic and lacked a central organisation and plan. Secondly, although the sepoys were skilled fighters they lacked modern weaponry and struggled against the British Artillery. Moreover the British troops mostly consisted of Sikh soldiers and they did not take part in the sepoy mutiny. Also the British response was quite fierce and brutal that instilled fear among the rebels and discouraged further rebellion. Most importantly, the mutiny started on religious grounds and lacked national character. So, had Nepal not backed the British maybe we wouldn't have got back the land that has been talked about in the video.
Yeah you are spot on. I think this video is a little bit misleading and unprofessional from the content creator because he spent so much on Laura Bell conspiracy to add intrigue when it was well documented from different sources inside the durbar that Jung Bahadur feared if he helped the Indians he would anger Great Britain and not only would he lose more land in retaliation but also get toppled from power by the Britishers

It was a lost golden opportunity. If he wanted he could be ruler of whole India. Jung Bahadur could have sent 50,000 Gorkha shoulders, and command the army himself. British was weak that time and so do Mughals. There would be Gorkha rule in whole India just like Maratha, Gupta, etc. Indians wouldn’t have objection since he was a Hindu, and Kshetriya. Why would they see him as any different than any other maharaja of Any Indian kingdom? He lost the opportunity by supporting British. If PN shah was king of Nepal, he would have supported the Mutiny and create a big Gorkha Empire that comprise of whole subcontinent.

@pirate3t508 An event in history changes a history. Even though the British won that war, the East India Company rule ended, and then British Raj started. So it is a big development. What JBR did was a loyalty towards Britain, not a bravery. What would be a problem if Nepal became a part of India when we are in a leadership position? It's just a problem if you are a small player. Now Nepal is a very small player (I could say not even a player) in geopolitics.
