The Episode That Ruined SpongeBob

- Does anyone remember SpongeBob SquarePants (1999-2024)? Of course you do... But does anyone remember its lowest rated episodes ever? This animated comedy series is probably the most popular cartoon of all time. Created by Stephen Hillenburg with recognizable characters such as SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Plankton, Gary, Mr. Krabs, and even... Pearl.
ALSO, I LOVE THIS SHOW. THE OLD ESPIODES ARE MOSTLY WELL MADE AND HIGHLY RATED. THEY'RE FULL OF NOSTALGIA AND GREAT TO VIEW ONLINE. I WATCH SEASON 7 HERE, BUT IT GOES ALL THE WAY TO SEASON 14... WHAT ARE THEY DOING TO ME BOY.

Great job as always, TheRealDarzii! Watched all seasons plus episodes of SpongeBob twice and probably more times. High SpongeBob fan, I’m all here for the ranting videos and theories plus more! Love your videos and happy to see you touching on my favorite cartoon character show :)
I honestly think one of the worst episodes was where the moral basically said it’s good to act stupid and terrorize your town for a living
The episode that ruined SpongeBob was the first one they did without Stephen Hillenburg.
I thought Fear of a Krabby Patty was okay what
I'll give you that, it wasn't like "The Same" but the streak of decent and still iconic episodes truly ended after Season 5, though Season 5 itself having a couple misses but still was fine for what it was.
He’s literally been credited as executive producer for the seasons 1-4 and seasons 9-13💀 Also he already knew that both spin-offs were gonna happed lol
Nah I liked this episode@@RalseiDRsocoolWOW
@@Grum-pd1kmhe barely did a thing he stepped away after the movie was coming back after sponge out of water but then passed away…
I figured that the worst episode was the one where Squidward gets a head injury and becomes a baby. 🤢🤮

That was one funny af😂
The worst episode in my opinion is the lemonade episode it was so disgusting
@@Randomface20the ink lemonade one? Yeah absolute 🤢
Spongebob wasn't always THAT annoying, the first movie pretty much separates when he became a completely different person.
I consider the first movie to be the ending of Spongebob, it just doesn't get better then that man. Same with thr Simpson's Movie. It just doesn't get better after that.
@@CerealExperimentsMizukicuz it was supposed to be the end but nicelodeon started milking it like a cow
Agree
@@CerealExperimentsMizukiyou’re right, hillenburg wanted the first spongebob movie to be the end of the series but nick forced him to milk it
It should of ended there
A Pal For Gary is literally the plot of Gremlins (1984) but in Spongebob. Kid buys a pet from a sketchy roadside store, pet ends up being wildly dangerous to him and everyone he loves, his life being saved by a good pet.
Hahaha I never thought of it that way
add in the most hated trope of pet owner/friend taking the side of the new member instead of the one they known for years, until everyone goes to hell.
That's why I loved it.
That’s my favorite movie!
The weird monster fish scares me, but the episode was good.
In my opinion the worst episode is “To Love a Patty”. This episode was absolutely disgusting. Made me want to throw up as a kid and makes me want to throw up now. I just don’t see how having SpongeBob fall in love with a Krabby patty and then eat it rotten is appealing. At all.
Also the clam muder sequence
Definitely the fetish of the writer.
@@NickLogoAbk2913hehe i loved that part
@@NickLogoAbk2913 yeah that was the only good part about the episode
Had that episode on DVD when I was younger. Now I'm questioning my thoughts...
..the worst episode for me was probably stuck in the wringer. those fishfolk had no business running spongebob down for snapping at patrick cause he had every right to be mad at him for making things worse the moment he glued him to the wringer.
true. i got pissed when i saw that scene
Even though the crowd should have heard everything, since Spongebob got so bad meltdown that he told about everything
Does anyone remember the SpongeBob episode were sponge bob and Patrick used squid wards nose to make lemonade out of ink
that was going to be my most hated cause of how unnecessarily cruel patrick was to squidward but the cameo of mary's shriveled up mother made me hate it less XD
Yes, I fully agree. Patrick's stupidity is completely unfunny here, Mr. Krabs is a greedy jerk who simply kicks SpongeBob out for accidentally causing trouble in the Krusty Krab (at least in "The Splinter" he helped SpongeBob to remove the splinter unlike that episode), but the worst scene is where SpongeBob calls out Patrick's stupidity and then gets unfairly blamed by everyone. I've never seen a more frustating episode than that one.
"Old SpongeBob" is and always will be everything up to the first movie.
And the First Movie is Canonically the End of the Series. All other seasons After are leading upto it.
*up to and including
@@kaeganthornhill3936no no no, later seasons aint canon at all.
@@humanoidshrek5524 True, thou they include call back to things mentioned in the Movies. And suppose to be when it "Happened". So if they ever so a Time Skip when SpongeBob is worker at the KC 2 then it will finally be after the Original time line. But they choose do to Spin off and Prequels
and season 4, 5, first half of 6
I thought the worst episode would be the one where they scare Squidward so he spills his ink out and they sell his ink on a "lemonade" stand. Or the one with the splinter or toe stubbing.
I thought that said they sell his ‘soul’ lol!
Im sorry he sells his WHAT
I also thought it would be the splinter, I'm surprised I've never seen either of these episodes though
That just didnt make sense
You forget, the Ink Lemonade episode is paired up with the "My Leg!" episode. So its rating on imdb is saved by the fact that it's paired up with an actually pretty good episode.
For some reason I hated wormy because I was incredibly HORRIFIED by the horsefly close up
Oh my god, I forgot about that hahaha, the show has so many weird shots
Who's wormy
Butterfly
I misread that as "women" for a second.
The Close-up is the reason why I watch they episode the least
i thought spongebob was a cheese when i was a kid
Ah so the talking cheese is gonna preach us?
I remember thinking the same thing when seeing the adds before the show aired here in the Netherlands
😂
u must have been a stupid kid bc it's literally in his name
I thought they were a mousetrap
If the mimes were actually the IRS it wouldve been so much more funny.
See, THIS would have been an actual brilliant joke.
Yeah
The point was that it was all made up which this guy didn't mention. It was a plan by spongebob so plankton could "get back at" Krabs. He's not actually afraid of them.
@@elih6087 oh. i never watched that episode
In classic spongebob, he was optimistic and childlike. He was a bit naive at times but he was still an adult that acted like an adult when the need arose. He could still get angry and could still think. In the modern seasons, and seen clearly in these episodes, he is just an actual idiot. He is a literal child that had his neurons fried. Thats why i hate modern spongebob and simpsons, every character is a caricature of their former selves instead of being their fleshed out full characters
I forgot what this phenomenon is called
Modern spongebob is just "this guy dumb he drools haha funny"
@@legendaryboi1226 Flanderization is the word you’re looking for.
This didn't happen in s4. This happened in s6.
Old farts like you love to dry hump those boring old episodes.
6:08 His biggest fear definitely should've been losing his money like that. Plankton could've grabbed the fake money Mr. Krabs pays Spongebob with, and burnt it in front of him before he could see it was fake. Mr. Krabs would cry or something, but then it would be revealed as fake.
That would actually tie up the plot of the episode better, by bringing the fake money joke as an actual plot point
that would actually be funny. but it would also require good writing, which is missing here 😭
That would turn the money shown into Chekov's gun.
We know how much Mr Krabs loves money, so him giving it away, even if it's as payment for work, has to has a purpose in the plot. Otherwise, why mention it.
@@HappyBeezerStudios Spongebob and Plankton would plunder it while Mr. Krab's isn't looking. And besides, it's not like they'd actually wanna write that part anyway! This is the modern Spongebob team lmao
No he should have brought in the IRS 💀
13:02 It's strange how Squidward didn't appear in this episode and his house is missing.
True! I noticed that Squidward wasn't in these. I don't think that's a coincidence!
@@TheRealDarzii Patrick’s house is also missing
Oh! It's just that the security system took control of Squidward's house.

Oh no, not squidward
Yeah the splinter one was gross as fuck...almost made me throw my cookies on the spot. 😕
The puffy fluffy episode legit got me scared as a kid, genuinely would've enjoyed spongebob more without it.
Lmfao that mf was on pcp 🤣
What made me stop watching SpongeBob was when they made multiple psych outs of Squidward taking his life.
It's wild looking back at this show and realizing how dark it was at times
@TheRealDarzii I mean it was dark as hell in the first 3 seasons as well. Remember that episode where they thought they killed the health inspector and tried to cover it?
@@sweetbabyrodneyI'm honestly shocked they even allowed that to air but banned the panty raid episode lmao. I get why they banned but there's other episodes that are WAYY worse that need to be banned too
Imo the worst episode is the one where Squidward falls into concrete and becomes a statue that can barely move and SpongeBob and Patrick being Squidward's "best friend", -torture- play with him until he get captured by animal control
Yeah I always felt bad for squidward in that episode
The thing was pretty okay
@@harrydix I don't remember Squidward doing anything really bad to deserve what happens to him, Squidward torture episodes are just slapstick comedy
I hated that episode
Most fans love that episode
The episode that ruined spongebob?
More like, ONE of the EPISODES that ruined spongebob
One of the worst episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants ever was undoubtedly "Ink Lemonade". In this episode, Patrick opens a lemonade stand, but throughout the episode, Squidward ends up getting scared and involuntarily dropping ink, which the population of Bikini Bottom weirdly enjoys when Patrick sells it to them as part of his lemonade. Patrick starts taking advantage of Squidward's fear, repeatedly scaring him for profit, leaving Squidward paranoid and driven to the brink of madness. Eventually, the customers discover the source of the ink and end up vomiting in Squidward's house for some inexplicable reason.
What makes it even worse is the random introduction of Squidward suddenly being able to produce ink. Like, where did that come from? It just doesn't make sense and throws the whole storyline off balance, making the episode even more of a mess.
Squidward has been able to produce ink for a while, It's more a matter of it being actually shown off or not. He's mentioned as being able to produce ink as early as s1's "Employee of the Month" and the first time he is seen "inking" on screen was s6's "Giant Squidward"
The whole Ink Lemonade plot is still revolting tho.
Dunno that episode is still more comfortable to watch than pal for gary
Speaking of food being tainted, I hate the one where they sold frozen Krabby Patties and it was all just sand 🤢🤮
One day in the Nick writers room:
"Lets have an episode where everyone drinks squidwards pee."
"Jeff youre fired. Lets use that plot anyways."
i always thought the worst one was the episode where squidward bangs his head qnd then acts like a baby...
one of my least favorite episodes that I don't hear talked about much is season 7's "Stuck in the Wringer" My main problem with it is that Mr. Krabs is treated as justified for yelling at SpongeBob for messing up at the Krusty Krab despite trying his best, while SpongeBob, while even saying some of the same things that Mr. Krabs did, is treated as unjustified in yelling at Patrick over getting him stuck in the wringer in the first place and indirectly causing him numerous injuries. Not to mention that Patrick doesn't apologize in spite of causing his best friend to spiral into depression over his actions.
Mr Krabs is just so inconsistent in the newer seasons, there are episodes where he is kinda nice and permissive and there are others where he gets mad for the slightest thing
sounds just like my mom 💀@@ijustwanttostayupuntillate5869
I always hated both episodes, but I fucking despised A Pal For Gary. Everything was so off and out of character, along with being horribly written, and honestly terrifying.
3:12 isn't classic Bob at all. It's anti-Bob. It a big part of his character that he'd put up with almost anything to protect the formula. He even put up a strong resistance against mind control to protect it in season 1 when Plankton had a machine on his brain physically controlling his brain to try to make him drop a patty in an analyzer.
That moment alone is like a declaration of hate for the show they took over. It's on the same level as having Beast Boy love tacos. If nearly every post-movie episode of the show weren't already a shark jumper, that would've been the moment they jumped the shark.
THANK YOU! for calling that out. I was thinking the same thing. 🙏 SpongeBob is a generally weak guy but he holds the Krabby Patty and it’s formula in such high regards he would go to great lengths to protect either! So… once again, that awful episode gets something wrong. Stupid frickin episode.
Wait Beast Boy loved tacos? Who was this I'm mailing them a pipe bomb
@@spongebobmiscellaneoushe can do karate and his skill almost matching sandy
Screw jumping the shark! At this point, they're ROCKETING over it!
>.
To me, SpongeBob changed after the very first movie. SpongeBob became more annoying, Patrick became more stupid, Mr. Krabs greedier, Squidward more bitter. Is like they took their worse traits and exaggerated them so much that it wasn't even funny anymore.
Yeah the show seemed to have lost its nuance. The creators probably felt that turning their personalities up to 11 would keep people interested. It ended up doing the opposite.
One Coarse Meal was less expected to what the common earlier SpongeBob episode was, but it can be very relatable, now looking at it in teenager years. Bullied into, well, very sad sadness. It’s a very relatable thing to experience now looking back at this Spongebob episode many years later. Thanks for this video

The reason why people hate these episodes
One coarse meal: Its very mean spirited and plankton does the thing he does every day but he gets tormented because of mr krabs and I know you haven't seen season 5 but in the first episode of that season is friend or foe and that establishes that PLANKTON AND MR KRABS ARE CHILDHOOD FRIENDS and he gets scared also plankton met pearl before and he wasn't scared and his wife doesn't even help him and the worst part about the episode are the nightmares and the worst part about the episode is the suicide joke which is a actual way actual people commit suicide and it makes this super uncomfortable and very bad and after that mr krabs erases a drawing of plankton meaning he wants to get him out of the picture and he was planning for plankton TO ACTUALLY TRY AND KILL HIMSELF THE ENTIRE TIME and the ending doesn't really help and spongebob says "that flies against my good nature" but spongebob has done many awful and mean things and the end does not help
A pal for Gary: Spongebob is really stupid and Gary did nothing and puffy fluffy is a bad character and it has a plot that will NEVER work is that someone gets blamed for something they didn't do which is stupid
(Also if you read this I want you to look at more super bad episodes (Choir boys,Ink lemonade,The card,The splinter,Stuck in the wringer,Atlantis squarepants, face freeze, pet sitter pat)

There are plenty of watchable episodes in Season 4 and even 5, _occasionally_ some in 6, and many in season 9b (when Stephen Hillenburg returned.)
Pretty sure that actually WAS the plan, at first.
Spongebob movie 2 is good.
I’m not the first to point it out, but One Coarse Meal isn’t the first time Plankton has met Pearl so him being scared of her on sight doesn’t make sense.
What's worse, Pearl doesn't belong to any whale spiece that actually eats planktons (she's a sperm whale).
I can't stand it when writers change a character's personality just because the script demands it. It's absolutely terrible how they override reason and logic with the phrase, JUST BECAUSE!
Personally, my least favorite episode of SpongeBob is the one where he eats the rotten krabby patty and basically starts hallucinating and sees a giant hamster named Cuddle E Hugs. I actually liked A Pal For Gary. My favorite part is when SpongeBob talks about his enchilada dinner lmaooo
12:30 Also I think this part could actually be relatable for some kids. I see it kind of like when someone else was clearly the monster in the situation but since they’re just sweet ole puffy fluffy, you had to have been the one to cause the problem. I bet it’s super relatable for children who felt as if their siblings were the puffy fluffy’s lol
2:50 “which we all know spans a very large surface area.”

I think One Coarse Meal would've been better if it consisted of Plankton constantly running into Pearl minding her own business and just being terrified. No ill intent against him. And maybe by the end she tells him she has no intent to hurt him, and his fears are put to rest. Maybe they could become sorta chill with each other, which could lead to some funny moments. Imagine Plankton attacking the Krusty Krab employees during one of his schemes, and Pearl just walks in like "Heyyyyyy, trying to steal the formula again? Yeah, nothing new with me either."
10:28 during that scene i did enjoy the way spongebob said "enchiladas" lol
I think what the writers didn't realize for a while was this:
Spongebob and Patrick were never written as oblivious morons... They were written as immature, foolish and ignorant of the world, but not necessarily as idiots. Newer episodes have this baffling trend of making characters seem foolish by simply having them not comprehend what's right in front of them.
That said, one idea for an improvement: The monster is devious, and puts the blame on Gary whenever it does something bad, and Spongebob gets mad at Gary. But Spongebob knows Gary very well, and eventually gets suspicious and follows clues to solve the mystery of who really did it.
Nah, then it would have been too cliche..
Many shows have an episode with plot exactly like this.
I hated "SpongeBob, your fired" due to Mr. Krabs being his cheapest EVER and the restaurant owners being aggressively mean to SpongeBob for just putting 2 buns on their food.
Cheapest ever, huh? Then what about when he sold SpongeBob's soul to the flying Dutchman for 62 cents!!??
@@NightCloudIThat's 2nd, but this is when Mr. Krabs randomly fired SpongeBob to save a "Nickel", that's 1st to me
The Patrick star show is an insult to Stephen, “when I die, don’t you dare make a spin-off show” they made 2+
Thats just fucked up
The camp coral one is even bigger of an insult. I f i remember correctly he also said that he *especially* doesnt want spinoffs where they age down the characters. *especially* . And they still did it
spreading misinformation is more disrespectful. he never said he didn't want spin-offs. he said he didn't see one happening.
@@urhoelmeri spreading misinformation is more disrespectful. he never said he didn't want spin-offs. he said he didn't see one happening.
one of my most annoying episodes are when sandy pranks bob and patrick for her little experiment (which they didn't know about) to the point they got mad at each other and almost ended friendship
Surprised you didn't mention "The Splinter," which is one of the most disgusting and horribly-written episodes of SpongeBob ever produced.
My opinions on these episodes:
The Pearl One: I don't think it's that bad. It has a good story, and the mime part is kinda funny. I do feel bad for Plankton tho-
The Gary one: I hate this one. And it's not because Puffy is just... Evil. No, I hate it because how Spongebob doesn't seem to care about Gary at all at the end, even tho Gary is litterally DYING. And Instead, he cares about Puffy. And heck, not only Gary didn't need a companion, but Spongebob didn't even listen to the lady that gave him Puffy, even tho she said that Puffy can be dangerous for other pets. This Episode just shows, that Spongebob is a bad and not caring owner, and I hate this episode.
I remember watching both episodes as a kid. I honestly was mortified with the second episode and even dreaded it when Nickelodeon would play this episode over and over again.
btw when people say old spongebob they mean the first 3 seasons since that was originally the amount of seasons stephen hillenburg the creator of the show planned the series to have ending it with the first movie but ofc spongebob got massive and nickelodeon continued the series without him
I think SpongeBob told plankton krabs fear as a way to say “your not alone” as they both have secret fears. Plankton fears whales and Mr krabs fears mimes
Even funnier is the fact Pearl is a sperm whale, which don’t eat plankton, instead they eat squids…
What about the part in the 2004 SpongeBob movie him and Patrick ate a bunch of ice cream. He got drunk, next day woke up with a hang over. 😂🤣
I wasn’t too critical of SpongeBob as a kid, I was usually just happy to watch it no matter the episode, but even at that time the episodes Stuck in the Wringer and A Pal For Gary made me angry whenever I watched them.
I don’t remember watching One Coarse Meal as a kid but looking at it now (and look, I hate to be the “think of the children! We need to ban these cartoons!” guy, but…) I really don’t think it’s appropriate for SpongeBob’s primary demographic, no matter what us adults think of him, Mr. Krabs is intended to be a “good guy” character, and having a “good guy” in your kids show torture another character to the point of them attempting s**cide seems like a very irresponsible and potentially dangerous message for kids
Same, since I was a kid I didn't realize that season 6-8 were awful, and I was also the kid that "liked" to watch spongebob no matter the episode, but even I would refuse to watch it if they were airing those episodes
4:00 got me with the baby eating the camra lol😂
In my opinion the worst episode is “yours, mine and mine”it’s that episode where SpongeBob is forced to share a krabby patty toy with Patrick and why Patrick doesn’t give it back to SpongeBob he throws a fit. They then argue to krabs about it where he states that he made more because they were popular and wants a dollar per toy Patrick steals spongebobs wallet and literally says “haven’t you learn anything about sharing”
There are moments like this where SpongeBob fans ask themselves: "Why the fuck SpongeBob and Patrick are still friends?" Their relationship is so toxic that it's comparable to Family Guy.
The fact that I know every single episode of this show better than my own birthday really proves how repetitive cartoon channels were
I swear its been my childhood show and it will forever be

I have a THEORY. The Spongebob from "A pal from Gary," was a different Spongebob behind Spongebob #1 that secretly killed Spongebob #1 with a knife and stuffed him somewhere off-screen. And you ask why this would happen. There was a Spongebob that wasn't casted for the role somehow, and he got jealous of Spongebob #1. So the other Spongebob took Spongebob #1's role for the episode, and it makes sense. The original Spongebob wouldn't act like an utter jerk. And some of you ask, "How is Spongebob #1 alive?" Only two situations can justify that. Situation A: Cartoon Logic, Spongebob #1 magically gets revived in the next episode with plot armor, or Situation B: Plot armor, in the form of the knife going through Spongebob #1's holes and slipping through his back as he got stuffed in the closet, as the new Spongebob didn't pay attention to the situation, meaning from the next episode, the newer Spongebob got arrested and Spongebob #1 gets the spotlight once again.

I remember when I watched "A Pal for Gary" Episode, I was frustrated with how Gary was tortured for NO reason and even when Spongebob is right next to the monster and about to get eaten, He's blind to believe Gary. It's scenarios like these where you're frustrated and shake your fist at the TV going "Just believe him so this can all be over". That was me.
For me the episodes that ruined it for me include:
- "One Coarse Meal"
- "A Pal for Gary"
- "The Card" (Spongebob gets a rare Mermaidman & Barnacle Boy card that Patrick intentionally destroys)
- "Whobob Whatpants" (Everyone insults Spongebob over petty BS, Spongebob leaves Bikini Bottom and gains insomia)
- "Are You Happy Now?" (Spongebob tries to give Squidward a happy memory, only for Squidward to become depressed)
Ever since around 2020, SpongeBobs voice sounds less like SpongeBob and more like Tom Kenny (he can’t even do the laugh anymore)
Honestly, the whale one was so messed up. Kids don’t need to know about suicide
There's a lot of things being shown in modern kid's shows that kids don't need to know about. It's nothing new.
I think they do, but to know how to prevent and see signs from a friend.
@@sweetbabyrodney They should also know preventing from suicide is selfish. Preventing suicidal desires is actual help. As it is, all most ppl can respond to suicidal desires with is "no don't do it it's bad, i don't want u to, geesus will hate u" yadda yadda. No actual help. No empathy. Stigma all around. And in a professional setting it's considered ethical to violate personal autonomy bc life so precious.
THIS GOT ME LMFAO 1:52
Worst one for me was when Spongebob got stuck in that wringer thing & after he yelled at Patrick in Glove World, every fish there was like "*gasp* "how dare you yell at your best friend, even though he got you stuck in that thing & that was totally his fault, but still, HOW DARE YOU!" Even as a kid, I saw how stupid that was.
man, as a kid I was TERRIFIED of Puffy Fluffy, I actually still have a trauma because of this episode.
Netflix: are you still watching
Someones daughter: 12:46
i hate all of the squidward torture episodes where the entire plot of the episode is making squidward's life a living hell
7:40 That's called "Onion Skinning," and yes, it's a real Animation technique.
Whats the soundtrack at 1:16 called? Cant load it on the website very well..
If you're talking about the background music, it's called Continental Breakfast by Rune Dale!
@@TheRealDarzii Thank you so much dude! Ive been searching for it! Also really great video :^).
12:34 Fun fact: in the Polish dub of this episode, SpongeBob tells Puffy Fluffy to put Gary down rather than the other way around.
how do you only have 10k subscribers algorithm did you dirty
Around 3-4 months ago I was at 5k, so things are picking up slowly! Just gonna keep making the content I love. Thanks for sticking around! :)
@@TheRealDarziiyeah the kung fu panda video took off
10.3k***
algorithm can do me dirty anytime it wants 😭
Octopus eat crabs, crabs eat starfish, starfish eat sponges but Plankton of all people is the one character afraid of his natural predador
honestly you'd think the lowest rated spongebob episode would be the one where he develops a habbit of biting his nail to the point where he even pulls his hands INSIDE his mouth to chew on them
It's far from being the lowedt rated one but it should be one of the lowest rated ones imo, it's disgusting too
Also most of these hated episodes come from the "dark" era but I don't think its really bad sure it had awful episodes but there were still great episodes (the dark era is season 4-9a) (and if you're wondering what 9a is the first part of season 9 until lost in bikini bottom because of the year gap of the show and the 2nd movie)
The heck you mean 4, s4 was awesome
People mostly say that season 4 is part of the dark era but I disagree its a classic season damn its my favorite season! but thats what the community says...@@susankornas2613
ik its my favorite @@susankornas2613
yeah I know its because its my favorite season@@susankornas2613
@@susankornas2613 yeah season 4 and 5 are far from being the Best but also had some great episodes, the real trash starts coming at season 6
The absolute worst episode for me is Grandma's kisses. I absolutely hate this episode. I don't know what the hell the writers were thinking when they had it where Squidward and the fish in the Krusty Krab bully SpongeBob because his grandma gave him a kiss on the forehead because she loves him to the point where SpongeBob runs out of the Krusty Krab in tears. How they hell is that funny? SpongeBob may be an irritating character at times, but not even he deserved that, and the ending is awful too.
I think with Grandma's Kisses, it at least tried to remind children that there's nothing wrong with loving your family relatives even if they give you kisses.
@@Loner098 Yeah but the bullying didn't help.
@Zombie-Hunter I think the "bullying" in SpongeBob was *far* worse in the Stuck in the Wringer episode, where SpongeBob rightfully called out Patrick for his bullshit, Patrick runs away crying, and yet everyone is on Patrick's side, making SpongeBob look like the bad guy as if he somehow deserved it??? Fuck off!
Honestly, when it comes to the bad "classic" SpongeBob episodes, then 'Dumped' is probably the worst for me. In that episode, Patrick is just insufferable because he basically *steals* Gary from SpongeBob, his best friend, mind you, decides to be a scumbag about it, and even calls SpongeBob pathetic. Like, what?! And all of that stupid drama happened because Gary wanted a *cookie* in Patrick's pocket. A *cookie!?* Are you fucking shitting me right now?! Meanwhile, there were barely any good jokes throughout episode as well other than maybe that last line from Patrick at the end of the episode, but I just couldn't *stand* this one.
@@Loner098 Oh yeah that one is really bad too.
Grandma’s Kisses is like Band Geeks compared to these 2 episodes
If I ever redid those episodes, I probably add some more character and more detail of what’s gonna happen
I remember that one spongebob episode where Squidward was severely depressed. When he hung up the birdcage, I legit thought he was gonna hang himself and I was like this is a kids show? That episode is the worst for me. Show Squiddy some love for once! Don't screw him over at the end. Just let him be happy throughout the entire episode.
Are you talking about "Are You Happy Now?"?
@@jakubn3809 yes
I have seen both these episodes before, though i at first forgot what the plot of one course meal was, but the moment pearl came on screen and you made point to bring it up i just went “OHHHHHHH… OH”
Worst episode to me is definitely "whirley brains" no contest. It's unwatchable.
Spongebob is already ruined ever since Stephen Hillenburg passed away.
Season 7 Ruined SpongeBob Way Before.
I honestly think if people view current spongebob as its own show thats only a loose reboot of classic spongebob... people might actually find some enjoyment out of it. There's some fun episodes here and there, some background characters get more attention and fun interactions with the main cast, the animation can get really out there in episodes like randomland.
0:17 not nowadays
all they can cough up is brainrot about toilets and shit
Whomp whomp you’re shit talking a show for kids
Those episode had to get through so many stages of production and they still got to air
Is it bad to mention that the worst episode got a game that's basically another version of angry birds?
That sounds horrible
@@TheRealDarzii from memory I thought the game was fun also I think it was called Gary's revenge
2:14 I would point out Sonic the Hedgehog with that bubble trick.
Glad someone else got this possible reference.
When I was a kid, I really hated the episode Good Neighbors. If you’re not familiar with that episode, it’s the one where the SECURITY SYSTEM TAKES CONTROL OF SQUIDWARD’S HOUSE AND BEGINS ATTACKING THE CITY LEADING THE MAYOR TO GIVE SQUIDWARD COMMUNITY SERVICE FOR TH- yeah, you get the point.
Yeah, I remember hating that one, and I still do. Poor Squidward didn’t ask to be harassed!
11:49 I clearly remember that that old fish warned SpongeBob that the pets she sells are fine on their own but don't get along with OTHER pets, and SpongeBob ignored her the whole time.
The worst episode was definitely life insurance. That torture machine they used on squidward was too scarring for words
My niece doesn't know SpongeBob. She thought he was a watermelon
7:47 Damn I had this episode on dvd I never noticed the layering error as a child lol. I think it's either a layering error or a character rig error.
The way Spongebob treats Garry in this episode reminds me of how my mom treated me till i got out-
1:15 bro breaks metal but cant lift teddy bears?!?!?😭😂
