    I'm fortunate enough to be the proud custodian of number 4! My frets were in the same condition as Troglys example when I purchased it. After a lot of hard work from my guitar tech they have come up like new. It's a lovely looking guitar and seems to have been a great investment having paid 2k for it 5 years ago!!

    You better believe Louisiana is deep in music. I myself am 59 miles southwest of New Orleans. All areas surrounding New Orleans were hit as hard by Katrina. New Orleans overshadowed others . We got hit first by Katrina and about a week later Rita came through and did more damage. All of which made the army core of engineers reassessed how they define flood areas and moved the areas though they were elevated into the rated areas it wasn't formerly listed in.

    • @clarkbabin9799

      @@JokersWild70 every area has its potential hazards. Some its earthquakes others it volcanoes. And some others its tornadoes or freezing temperatures. New Orleans is 19 feet below sea level where I live is a few feet above. There are places up north in other states that are well above and they have issues with flooding. Don't down people for where they were born and live if you havent a clue of the areas.

    The Edge actually owns and uses Numbers 1 & 2. Getting the Edge to sign anything is next to impossible. When he was spotted in Malibu back in 2016 or so at a gas station, he spoke to the small group that recognized him, but he dodged just about every question we asked with “I don’t know” or “I don’t recall.” The only other phrase he uttered was “Is that right?” He wasn’t unfriendly, but he seems VERY aware of what he says and how he answers questions.

      It is said that he may be the owner of #1 and it is logical, but I assure you that he is not the owner of #2. In the last music rising auction he auctioned #96. Up to that point I have seen it with at least 5 different ones

    Thanks for the video Austin. I’m a huge U2 fan, and bought one of these when they first came out. Purchased from Guitar Center in Atlanta for about $1500. I remember mine having UNCOVERED pickups and off-white inlays similar to the LP Classic of the time. Too be honest, I wasn’t impressed with the guitar, and sold it. Wish I had hung on to it with today’s prices. Great for a collectible, as a player, meh.

    I own a GENUINE Gibson Hurricane Katrina guitar! It's a 1949 Gibson BR9 lap steel which stood upright in water for a few weeks after Katrina hit. The paint had flaked from the lower side of the guitar and the P90-like pickup crumbled as it had completely rusted. I picked it up for a nice price and replaced the pickup with a Sentell BR9-replacement. The rest I left as it had come out of the flooded house where it lived in New Orleans...................

    • @jubei7259
      @jubei7259 ปีที่แล้ว

      Simple answer - yes, most definitely. As to whether that's a good or bad thing depends on the player's preferences. Me personally, I like my LP's unchambered, full weight but then all but two of my LP's I got back in the 90's when I was a gigging musician so it kinda makes sense that guys prefer the tone of the guitars they've grown up with & are used to. That's not to say the two LP's I own that were built after 2006 are in any way 'bad' guitars of course. They're great. I just prefer unchambered if given a choice is all.
