What a great song. It's amazing its basically Trever Horn and Geffory Downes. I have had so much fun listening to this and them over the years. My entire music collection one of my all time favorites. I first got this on cassette tape and literally wore it out playing it so many times. I had never heard of them until I got Yes Drama and one day I was looking at the discount bin for cassette tapes at the music store and there it was 99 cents. I remembered their name. I just couldn't believe how great it was.
The Age of Plastic took the world by storm but this next album was so over people's heads it was best listened to alone and not as background music. Horn was brave to ditch the pop appeal and show what he was really capable of. In terms of the success of the first album I'm not sure he pulled it off but came far closer to showing us just what makes a musical genius tick. He delivered something uncompromisingly cerebral and worthy of attention.
Thank you so much for uploading the high quality versions of these songs. TH-cam music doesn’t have them available in my country, so you helped me out 💚
This reminds me *a lot* of the Dutch band The Nits, who even had a song called 'Vermillion Pencil' 😄 And seeing that this Buggles song is older, it's well possible that's what had inspired The Nits 😊
I just checked out vermillion pencil after seeing this comment and omg i think i love this song. Its like goofy but so much fun to listen to i love the piano. Def will check out nit more thank you for commenting this
You're very welcome, @@silveme! 😊🙏 That is so cool that you also like _that_ song! 😃 The Nits have been around since the 70's and are still active today, and they have released many, many albums over the years. I'd suggest their album 'In The Dutch Mountains' as a starting point, and that's also the title of their best-known song. Enjoy! 😁👍

No problem, dude.
What a shame that not both albums of The Buggles are available on Spotify 😒😒😒
I've got them both on vinyl somewhere in storage. Original pressings and absolutely pristine. They aren't for sale.
@@kvdp9543 how much you want for them?

Yes you are right ! for example Dapper Street or Two Skaters sounds a bit like this
@garamgaramindia - Yes! And also 'Hat', especially in regards to the keys sound! 🙂
Happy New Year!
😀👍🌈☀️
A perfect accompaniment to the JG. Ballard novel of the same name. Buggles and Ballard.
Fun fact: Vermilion Sands was proposed by Horn to Yes for a supposed Drama follow-up
