The scene where Meredith yells at Amelia shows some phenomenal acting it's an outrage that Ellen Pompeo has been snubbed on every award shows.

Marissa Urias exactly! she acts like she’s the only one affected by his loss, or like she’s thee only one that has a right to feel angry! I get it, you lost your husband, the love of your life, and the person you’d built your life with. well, guess what? Amelia lost not only her brother but her father figure, the only person in her family that cared about, practically raised her, and never turned his back on her. She’s earned the right to say goodbye to brother. The fact that she didn’t even call her so she could say goodbye is soooo disrespectful. She owed her that much.

@@DoodleKitsey Not trying to point fingers but emotions can make people not rational. Meredith has been surviving on her own. With trauma like hers, the moment a trigger like that happen, she would automatically goes with a reactive response that is familiar with. So please be more understanding to mentally wounded people.

no one is blaming anything on Callie. Arizona was right, Callie was NOT on the freakin plane, she was NOT on the freakin woods. she suffered with Arizona, but hey, so did everyone! Owen suffered too, and I don't even like him, but Owen suffered too when Cristina was in there. Callie kept on acting like she was there, when she was NOT. she received the money and she talks like she was in there
@@joana8830 she was put in an impossible situation not like any of the other spouses! She took Arizona's abuse while also grieving the loss of her child's father/ her best friend and raising a child AND being a surgeon.
She was the good man in that storm. Arizona's actions although understable were awful! Callie deserves better than this.

I never cry, especially for fictional shows, but when Meredith was talking to Amelia, I felt every word. It was so powerful. That was the pinnacle of her acting.

@@Sayonararuiz I don't know, I've always hated the way Mer dealt with Derek's death. And it all started when she decided to unplug him without even calling his family first to let them know about the accident. I understand that no one gets to complain 'cause she just lost the love of her life and the father of her children, but still, he had a loving family and they never got to say goodbye. Mer took that moment from them. I hate that Derek died with just her in the room when he literally told her once that he would want his sisters and mother there to say goodbye if he were brain dead.

I feel like Ellen’s Meredith Vs Ameila scene performance was phenomenal but I always feel awful that no one really considers that yeah Derek was the love of mer’s life but ameila was his SISTER, she knew him her whole life and never lived in a world without him, he was her idol and her protector and people shouldn’t disregard either of their pain but especially ameila’s because yes MerDer were soulmates but i mean that was her goddamn big brother and I think ameila gets so upset and acts out in these situations BECAUSE people seem to forget that they were family and only seem to care how Meredith feels about derek’s passing
i understand u, but amelia is acting like mer has no right to be in pain, or shock like everything has to stop just for her to be in pain... and there is a big difference... amelia can let her pain out, mer cant, couse she has 3 kids and she cant stay in bed and cry for weeks... she needs to get her ass up and put a game face on just to be there for her kids... and i think if amelia just thought for a sec and let mer be for few min. mer would not have reacted like she did... cose she was in pain too at that moment, she was in shock....

Being a sister and being a wife are two totally different dynamics though. She had children with Derek. She was Derek’s everything. Yes Amelia knew Derek her whole life but Meredith and his family was HIS whole life. Yes Amelia absolutely does deserve to be in pain. But she has no business telling Meredith “how could you do this to me?” Because Meredith was in shock seeing the woman who was supposed to save her husbands life and failed. Amelia gets to grieve, she gets to fall apart. But because Meredith has to raise her kids she can’t. And that was HER HUSBAND. Her love. Her world. I understand both sides as a sister and a wife. I love my brother to death, but if I lost my husband? The man who knows me better than anyone in this life. The man I have a daughter with. I don’t know if I could ever survive that. Being a sister is not more than being a wife. So yes neither of their pain should be disregarded, but don’t say “but especially Amelia’s”

Ana Donner amelia wasn’t saying you don’t have the right to be in pain, she was saying that she had the right to see him and say goodbye for one last time. idc what anyone says i love Meredith and all but she was wrong for that no cap. like imagine if your sibling was dying, you wouldn’t want to say goodbye to them one last time? Meredith’s pain doesn’t lessen Amelia’s. It wasn’t a competition to see whoever had the right to be more sad.

As good as the Meredith and Amelia fight was acting wise......I still dont think anyone should be comparing the pain of losing a husband versus losing a brother. BOTH are unimaginable and terrible, and BOTH women have a right to be overwhelmed with grief because Derek was the most important man in BOTH of their lives. Neither character should have ignored or belittled the others pain.
And sure, Meredith was his wife. But that doesnt mean Amelia didnt deserve to know her brother was dying or be told Meredith was going to pull the plug. How would you have felt if someone told you the most important person in your life had died and they didnt tell you until after the fact??
Im a person who puts wives and husbands before parents, siblings, children, etc.
But let my sibling be about to die and her husband, my brother in law, decided to make any moves without telling me. Id punch him dead in the throat.
She also mentioned how she has to hide all her grief for ger children and how Amelia got it out and is still whining. I may not be a 100 perceng correct but i think that was what she was trying to say.
I want the best for my brother and if his wife decided to pull the plug I’ll think she made the best choice because I don’t want my brother to be in pain
ok i agree but mer has it worse then her because der was the father of her CHILDREN so hat meant that Zola and Bailey and the other but don't judge me i forgot but they will grow up WITHOUT their father so mer does have it wore and that's her HUSBAND and i understand that that that was Amelia's brother and she had no one come to her wedding except her mom.... but yeah thats MY opinion
Fuentes kids3 It doesn’t matter who had it worse. They both had the right to grieve as much as they wanted to. And Mer was definitely in the wrong by getting mad at Amelia for a mistake SHE made. There’s no good explanation for why she didn’t let her sister in law know her own brother was dying.
Arizona had no right to yell at Callie and tell her she wanted “street cred”. That week she was out in the woods Callie didn’t have her wife OR the father of her child. She thought they were dead. Then one ended up dead. So, wow.

Arizona defends Derek
Arizona telling that woman off was just pure artistry and it’s my absolute favorite seen. She’s 100% right, she’s not overreacting, she’s not doing too much. Where everyone else is over dramatic and overly self absorbed Arizona was RIGHT.

I think they were both kinda in the right. They both needed to grieve and couldn’t do it together in a healthy way because they were in such different places and weren’t that close before everything happened. I agree with both of them and neither of them should have been attacking the other because no one did anything to anyone. Could Meredith have handled it better? Yes. Could Amelia have been a bit more understanding as to why she did what she did? Yes.

xtokayx when people get married they leave their old family behind to start a new one. Mer was Dereks family. They were soul mates amelia was his sister and that’s painful but losing the father of her three children and the love of her life is not the same as losing a brother. It’s a different pain for a different kind of love. Amelia can move on and it will be painful, but Mer and her children will not. Her kids will grow up without a father and Mer will always be wondering what life could have been. (I know this is a show but it’s a great show)
I don't understand why Arizona still blamed Callie. I get Callie gave the order to cut her leg off, but im c'mon she saved her life and she wasn't on the plane, but surviving the plane crash wasn't the hardest part of this experience, it was trying to be ok after the plane crash. Arizona didn't want to have to be strong enough to handle the plane so Callie had to be strong enough for both of them and that wasn't her job. I stand by Callie, and I think Arizona is great but, Callie is my fav and always will be my fav.

Arizona lost her leg and she had a right to be upset and angry but Callie also had a right to be upset she may not have been on the plane by she lost a lot in that plane crash her best friend & father of her child Mark as well as her friend Lexie, her life was turned upside down and she soldiered on because she knew Arizona needed her support.

Arizona later goes onto explain that when she was little and moved a lot she found comfort in roller skating, her dad always took her to rinks where ever they moved and it made her feel safer and more comfortable there. Hence the reason she uses her heelys before her leg was amputated. It meant a lot to her, and it wasn’t fair of callie to act like Arizona’s feeling of unfairness in the situation was irrational.
maddie D yeah but also..... Arizona literally would have died. She was only thinking of temporary things when she was dying because of her leg and Callie had the right to choose as her partner because Arizona was unfit at the time. If Arizona would have died Callie would’ve lost literally everything except her daughter, and the rational decision was to lose to leg. However, Arizona can be pissed, obviously.

derek was Amelia's brother and has every right to grieve, but for me it was the fact she was acting like she was the only one who lost him, and that she was the only one falling apart. His wife and his kids lost him. Mer should've let her say goodbye but at the end of the day it was her decision. Both of them lost someone important in their life and they both have the right to grieve but Mer had more on her plate considering legal decisions, the house, their kids, her being pregnant right after he died and ofc her being his wife n the love of his life.

Arizona had a point, Callie brought up the plane crash scenario into their marriage and now she's saying that my leg this my leg that. But then again, before you kill me, the stress that Callie went through, the pain of losing Mark and the pain of Arizona reflects on her. In the end I think that, in the marriage only, Arizona was the one who was wrong. She cheated. That says a whole different story.

So many good scenes here! One of my favorites is also the scene where Amelia is nervous before her wedding and Meredith is being her person for her. Such an amazing scene between those two showing how they really are sisters in everything but blood.

ok arizona you better stop there. “You weren’t on the frickin plane.” No she wasn’t on the plane. But let me tell you what she lost. Everything. Mark, the father of her child. Her best friend. You might not think that’s important but guess what? She had no one. Because you seemed to lose her too. You blamed her for your leg. Well guess what? You wouldn’t be blaming her for anything because you’d be dead if she hadn’t done that. Arizona, she almost lost her wife and her daughters father. She wasn’t on the plane, but guess what? She was in the conference rooms and court rooms figuring out how she could get justice for YOU! You want to blame her for your leg, well guess what? She could blame you for you infidelity which she is because you’re an ungrateful, spiteful, insensitive person who Callie is way better for without you!

I get that its hard to deal with it especially when your partner makes the call but cheating on her, demeaning her feelings about the plane crash and acting like its callies fault was not the answer

Family doesn’t always mean loyalty but in this case Derek obviously loved all his sisters. Especially Amelia since he was basically a dad to her. And they were in each other’s lives way before Meredith showed up. So yeah, Amelia had every right to freak out.

I just CANNOT BELIEVE that Arizona was such a bitch to Callie!! Oh my God! You would expect that she, being a doctor, would understand that she had to lose her leg to get her life back!! But no, all she did was constantly blame Callie for making a choice to protect her and I hate that she kept telling Callie that she was not on the plane and she would never understand what they went through in the woods! True, Callie was not on the plane and yet she was miserable with Mark's death and Arizona's leg and Arizona's bitterness!! SHE WENT THROUGH IT ALL INSPITE OF NOT BEING ON THE PLANE!! It was too bad that Arizona turned out to be an ungrateful selfish person!! Personally, I think the plane crash affected Callie's life more than anybody else's as she had to lose her best friend who was also her baby's daddy and she had to deal with Arizona!! CALLIE IS A FRIGGIN WARRIOR PRINCESS!!!

Not saying that she's always right!! But for me, Callie as a character is extremely driven, she always fought for people that she loved, so in those terms, she IS a warrior to me!
Arizona’s anger with Callie always confused me because I thought it was really clear that it was between the leg and Arizona’s life and it’s obviously going to be traumatic to lose a limb but I don’t remember her ever acknowledging that Callie did make the right decision once she made it past the shock and trauma of it

2 years ago, after a really bad break up with someone that I loved so much, I turned on the tv and the scene At 6:10 was playing. I cried so much watching that because of the similarity in situation, I was having a relationshop with a married man. and at that time I had never seen a single episode of Grey's anatomy. After that scene, I decided to watch it from season 1 episode 1, and binged it to season 13. Needless to say, I cried so much.

I think people judge Arizona to much and think that she cared a lot about the leg but it was more about trust, she put trust in Callie after she was in a terrible accident and Callie could keep the promise (to save her life) but I think that’s where Arizona is really coming from with the leg thing

I understand all the people saying that Amelia has rights to be like she is for Derek. But what I see the most is Amelia can deal with it, cry if she want to, to deal with his death.But Meredith can't because she have 3 childrens who lost their father. And she can't deal with his death because she have to be strong for them, and I think this is why it's more hard for her 🤔

Arizona and her stupid leg. That storyline dragged on and on. And when they had this fight I remember doing a facepalm because I thought she was over it, and then she brought it up again.

Yeah, I get that she had PTSD and had suffered a lot but using that to excuse her cheating on her wife was a total reach.
@@saturnsruth3964 it's hard yes but blaming callie for it and then using it as an excuse for cheating was just too much I couldn't stand her after that
I agree that Arizona bringing it up over and over was really annoying. But there’s also a part of me that understands why she used it as an excuse to cheat. She had resentment towards Callie for making that decision (even though it was right) and part of me thinks that she just wanted to hurt Callie in the way she was hurt. I’m not justifying her cheating, I honestly stopped liking her after that but just another way to think about it
I lost my leg and yes, I lashed out in frustration. But my frustration was never the loss of my leg. I was frustrated at being kept in a hospital bed for months on end, in the hospital for months on end, constant operations to where I had to be put to sleep any time the docs wanted something done. At one point, I was anaesthetised every 3rd day. So, put to sleep for x-rays, put to sleep to be washed, put to sleep before they moved my hospital bed from one room to another. You have to rely on everyone for everything.

Then comes the "Addict" looks you get when people find out the only painkiller that works is an Opiate.
It proper drives you nuts! It's been 30 years since I lost my leg. I'm 41 this year, so I was 11 when it happened. The frustration never goes away and neither do they phantom pains.
