This is so true. When I was watching TV I tried everyday not to sit infront of the tv for 3 hours but then I gave it up for this whole month and I actually want to read the bible and worship way more than I want to watch TV.

The most wonderful thing is happening to my wife and me. We've come a long way (44 years of amazing marriage while clinging to Jesus; 60 years of chronic, hemiplegic migraines; CPTSD; unemployment; family and church splits, etc.) and now we can both honestly stand here and say that the Word of God is so much "fun." We love "doing" it, and truly experiencing God backing it up. His faithfulness is so amazing. Applied Christianity is so real. Thank you, Beveres, for your books and teachings. My wife and I are both being delivered from "offense' and it is such a huge deliverance for us. Life with Jesus really does bring times of refreshing (Acts 3:19) if we'll simply memorize and "do" His Word. God bless you and your family. Romans 8:28; Ephesians 5:20; 2 Corinthians 10:4-5; 2 Corinthians 12:10

"I love your discipline and I celebrate your lack of donuts!" -Liz
Hahahahah. I love that line. Spiritually speaking it is true in a sense. When we discipline ourselves with good stuff, practices, food, spiritual food, we started to lack of unhealthy things. Hhehehehe

Definitely God's timing on this podcast. Although I accepted Christ about 24 yrs ago, I need to back to my 1st love. So much of what u shared was point on. But when John mentioned God at the table at 6am, God gave me a visual of Father,Son, & Holy Spirit sitting there just quietly waiting 4 me to verbally speak with them. Thank u both so much & God bless!!!

I agree with y’all, I was raised Baptist and I never knew the Holy Spirit, never had one sermon, until I was 40 years old… he came… at a conference, then I studied about the Holy Spirit everyday for 3 years with kids and a job, Changed me Forever … I’m 47 now, and I don’t go a Day without saying, Holy Spirit , I’m so thankful for YOU, I will never Never forget YOU!!! ❤amen .. and everyday, I still study something from the Bible .. so I think the introduction of the Spirit of God was what I was lacking my whole life… he will guide you and show you and he will even give you shooting stars on demand lol ❤and strange blessings that you know when you know came from Him… ❤he is the Spirit of the Lord Jesus .. he is the Kingdom within! ❤

I came to know about Pastor John ,through a book he wrote called "Killing Kryptonite "..I finished the whole book and re-read it again ..That book alone made me realize that I really was settling for less than what God called me to be ..And yes I started following him on TH-cam eversince and mahn I gotta say; I have so much love ,respect and honor for God's grace that's bestowed upon the man of God and his family ..This clip for me is an eye opener and it's almost like a whole story book that's titled 'Are You Spiritually Starving ?' Summarised ..I believe the Holy Spirit led me here because He wanted me to hear this ..and I'm so blessed to have heard this message ..May God continue to bless you and your ministry ❤

I really love the way you guys are so passionate about the word of God, great conversation. Recently I was in that space where I did not have appetite to read the word of God and reading the bible felt like I was just reading a novel and I did not know what was going on. I thank God for his love because I told him how I felt about it and now things are getting better. Like what you said , I recently discovered that I had lost the appetite because I was prioritizing other things and that is why I was no longer excited to read the word. The moment I started being intentional and praying before reading the word, the appetite an excitement came back.Thank you so much for sharing this topic , it really helped me a lot.

Hello to both of you, what a blessing you are to me and so many others who have discovered your podcast. I have to hand it to you, I’ve listened to many many podcasts and conversations through the years. Yours is the very first one that didn’t desperately try to put me to sleep in the first five minutes. You bring an engaging energy to the table that keeps our full attention. I love the playfulness between you, you make learning easy and you demonstrate that by how much love and respect you show to one another. I have been binge watching your videos and I never want to miss another one.
May God richly bless you and your family with his love and favor. Thank you for what you do. Maria from Lindale Texas

this is pretty good! but isn't it true that were not always going to be excited, but we still have to read his word?

    • @lisadenlinger9964

      Hunger vs. excitement 🤔😇
When I'm hungry, I'm at least looking forward to eating. I can even be excited at the anticipation of a good meal. I know I will be satisfied and have contentment with being full. This comes from wholesome, nutrious food. Cheap, empty calorie foods are fun while eating yet don't fully satisfy 😢.
Reading God's word is a discipline for sure, and it is an opportunity to grow in close relationship with Him. This episode gave me clarity about doing something on purpose for a purpose ❤❤❤❤❤

Thank you John and Lisa for your words of encouragement. The reason why one can read and study/teach the Holy Bible over and over and still be revealed a new revelation is because the Holy Bible is a “living” book. God’s presence and every breath is within His pages! Amen! God bless you all.

Thank you for giving the gift of awareness through your words. Iam currently spending time with God and His word in the mornings and it's been like a conversation (after a previous dry spell) but I was not aware of the reason why I had this intimacy now it was God's graciousness to me alone rather than something I was intentional and aware of. I know if I lost that intimacy with God I would not know how to get back to that place but now I do thanks to your reiterating that I need to ask God to show me revelation through His word for me. And it was in fact very timely because this morning I did need to ask it wasn't just given to me. Thank you so much for doing these videos and helping others and myself be and stay close to God. 😊❤

In 1990s I lost my appetite because I have disabilities and the drugs I was on ended my apptite, and because the doctors were giving me the wrong dose, I lost my appetite but I also was suffering from an injury from medication that disabled me in the first place years previously. I have lived without an appetite. My appetite has not been restored and I have had to eat when I am not hungry, but constantly full. And its like when you sit among Christians or people that want to fill you, but you have a full plate. They don't understand you are full, its like trying to make people eat, when they are full. God gifted me with something else. People have not understood the something else. I was gifted with a spiritual thirst and I was so thirsty for God, He filled me with His life giving water. He also gave to me to go out and water the fields, go and water and bring forth Life giving water. And because the church did not understand that, I was abused beyond measure. And also its hard to live without an appetite, but also not having an appetite served another purpose, it ended dysfunction in eating. It ended dysfunction in cravings. It ended addictions and the list goes on. It also helped people lose weight. The biggest mistake people make at this time, is being presumptive. And also abusing people. The spiritual can not be trusted at this time, because the truth is, it is being made in the image and likeness of man, not God, which means idolatry. Its still the spirit of truth and spirit of error in operation.

What happens if we start craving the Bevere’s podcast every morning?? Just kidding! Just want to say that these episodes have empowered me to be very alert and very aware of the hunger scale toward craving the word of God. This particular podcast helped me to reflect my attitude in the mornings if I am excited to chat and read my Bible in the mornings or just trying to get it devotions done to please God.
How would you suggest helping kids get these cravings? We are homeschoolers and reading the Word is part of “checking the box” on my kids’ morning routine but I want it to be so much more. As a mom I wake up before sunrise to spend time with Jesus when all my kids are asleep so I can’t really show them I’m doing this.
    Any suggestions?
Thank you both for being such a beautiful power couple! I have followed your ministry for years!!

John n Lisa. You are better together, Q. Lisa, inquiring minds wanna know. Has ur husband truly not had a 🍩in forty years? Hmm, might there be a slight lapse of memory?🤥😂
Candid, no-nonsense discussion that gets down to the nitty- gritty. I'm a phoniness detector because I've been one. At times, I have felt an insatiable hunger for His Word and at other times have picked up my Bible to read it more as an automaton.

I believe that you are a wonderful godly wife and sister but in so many occasion when your husband is actually trying to explain something and you cut him off - the message he is trying to say gets lost because you interfere. ❤️

With all due respect, people are tired, including myself, of church as usual, so please stop emphasizing the need for “church attendance,” we are hungry for the Presence of God, we want more. Why should anyone wanna waste their time going to a building? If God’s Presence is not there. I’m tired of looking and listening to men and women behind a podium exalting themselves and or giving a”sermon,” speech, etc.. We don’t need motivational speakers, we need men and women full of the power of the Holy Spirit. It’s clear and evident the men and women behind the podium today need to be refilled with the Holy Spirit. The Bible has examples where the disciples were refilled with the Spirit. I’m tired of people trying to do things in their gift and calling it the anointing; thank God for the gift, but if it is not empowered by the Holy Spirit fresh outpouring through the vessel, who is speaking or teaching, singing, etc., it’s nothing much of anything. The Bible is clear on this wise, it not by, might not by power, but by God’s Spirit. We must have the Power and Presence of the Holy Spirit.

I am so thirsty to learn more and more, and with each podcast I listen to, I watch how my hunger for God's things grows. I'm really happy because everything you say makes sense to me, and I feel like I'm maturing lot faster than ever before. I felt led by God at the beginning of the year to advance from the basics to maturity, but I didn't know how, and when I was listening to John, in the wilderness course, speaking from 1 Peter 4:1, He who suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, and that implies He has reached maturity. I realised what I needed to do. I began praying, asking God to transform my desires and to instill in me a hunger for Him and His Kingdom, and I am so glad and amazed to realise that God does indeed give me power over the body, and I no longer have an appetite for certain things that used to overpower me. Thank you very much, John and Lisa, for your podcasts, courses, and books; they are treasures that fill my spirit.❤

Wow so good! Thanks for this! This was very enlightening and encouraging and lot to think about! Love the part where you pray before you read and also ask Him to speak to you as you’re reading the word. I don’t want to just read ‘the book’ and not know the author. Love you guys!

    7:23 Maintaining spiritual hunger:
    1. You need connection with Him. Instead of just reading the Bible as any other book, try interacting with the Holy Spirit when you read.
    10:24
    - Talking with God as I am reading.
    - Before reading, pray "Holy Spirit, please reveal Jesus to me in a way like I've never known before. Open my eyes and make the Word alive in my life."
    - Never stop to wander, ponder, and have excitement to read the Bible.
    - Find someone to study, read, and then discuss the Bible with.
    - Imagine you are reading with the author and allow the Holy Spirit to explain things to you.
    - If you just read you get information, but not TRANSFORMATION.
    - Ask God to reveal and expose to you the things that are keeping you from a desire to read the Word of God (Entertainment, social media, unnecessary drama, not having an atmosphere that has sacred space, etc)
    2. The less I read the Bible, the less I want to read the Bible. The less you feed your spirit, the quieter it becomes.

I did what i call a kingdom fast where I cut out everything not focused on the kingdom for the month of april. It made me so hungry for him. And I still am hungry for months later I did not pick up most of these things it has become a lifestyle change.

This helped with a personal revelation, God was trying to break through. I was spiritually starving, because of treating The Lord like my earthly father. An angry man, with addiction issues. So I learned to disappear and not be noticed. Because being noticed could lead to domestic violence, as my mother stepped in to protect me. It broke my heart to see her broken.
So when it came to my prayers with God, I was trying not to trigger God. I don't look forward to His word, because it means coming into his presence. Where my neurological pathway built a stronghold of survival, to avoid a father's authority like that. Which brought me into His presence with the wrong kind of fear. So God kept His distance. Hence the starvation.
He wanted to feed me, but my blindness could only feed the enemy's seed instead. So this message helped God break through, so we can get closer the way he intended. Thank you.

I know how you feel, i went through some of the same things you mentioned. Man, you don't know how God is absolutely, extraordinarily, GOOD! And as we grow in intimacy with Him, and in the revelation of who He is, the fascination and awe and wonder that we experience is inexplicable!! And that's only the beginning!!!

@@DiogoReisBello He IS good. Since writing this, God gave me a vision. I was walking to my laundry to empty the machine, and the universe suddenly opened up in-front of me. My consciousness was occupying the space between the stars - and that was a lot of space to occupy! God gave me a glimpse of who he was as my heavenly father.
That's a big difference between me avoiding the projection of my earthly father, on God - to God revealing his limitlessness to me. That was the most amazing vision I've ever experienced.
