“My children are everything to me," said Geri Wells on Thursday, Dec. 9, 2021. The homeless family of five had their motorhome towed away by the city of Rancho Cordova last month and are struggling to survive living in an SUV.

How inhumane. Taking the only home they have with very small children. Where are the social services to help these families?!!
Oh social services will be happy to take those children away, place them into foster homes where the foster parents make money off of each child where the rate of severe child abuse (mental emotional physical medical and sexual) is far beyond the homes where natural parents are seriously abusive (in many cases), and social services will force the natural parents to go through years of treatment for issues they've never had to prove their worthiness to get the children back. At the end of those years chances are the natural parents will not get the children back. Yup social services in NOT EVER the answer. Sadly the answer was to fix the RV so it ran which can cost a lot of money but less money than any social service program wastes every minute ormf every day -- which the tax payers are made to pay for....
Yep social service will only help by putting those kids in foster homes.
I did not say DCF. Im referring to in Fl where I live rental assistance food stamps. Temporary housing assistance.

My family has been living in hotels for 5 years now. We have 2 kids 12& 14. We don't drink,smoke and definitely don't do drugs. We just can't save any money living like this. It's been a nightmare trying to keep safe. If it wasn't for my faith in God, i don't know how I'd make it through another day. My husband drives a truck 14 hours a day and all our money goes to paying this room and food. We just need that break to get us into a home

@@nicolassaarni88 living in hotels is so expensive. We have to pay weekly for our room plus we have 3 storages with all our belongings and we have to eat out daily. We do have a microwave and mini fridge, but can't cook in the room. Believe me we would love to be in anything other than this situation, but like i said before, we can't save any money to move. My husband can't do anymore than he already is doing. It's easy to sit and judge, but I'm a born again Christian and i know in God's timing we will have a home

I would say the chances of them getting anything back is next to none. They do this to the homeless in Denver also. Instead of helping the homeless they like to make them suffer and make their lives more difficult than what they already are. And ask me the reason for this? I have no idea other than the fact that they are pure heartless people and maybe they like seeing people struggle because they probably have no idea what it's like to be in a homeless person's shoes
I do have sympathy for these children.
One thing I do agree with the children's mother is her anger with the representatives who are there to help her yet say that there is nothing that they can do. The idea of one agency moving the problem onto the next is upsetting. These agencies consistently pass the buck when it comes to actually helping children.
The problem is so large.

These camps create dangerous situations and massive amounts of pollution. Hopefully the affected families and residents can find safe shelter somewhere or maybe people in your position who cares so much can help by letting them move in with you temporarily till they get back on their feet 🦶

And I understand pride n all but as a landlord who used to use day labor to get things done.....I had to quit using my essays due to quality of output issues. It ended up being less expensive to hire a pro that does it for a living because fixing another dudes quality.....isn't free. So....keep that in mind if you decide to take shortcuts while doing sheetrock, laying roofs, painting or digging ditches. Quality matters.

Yes mental illness...depression... anxiety.. exhaustion.. is probably what's running in the background... Your question isn't as easy as the answer you provided. I don't think these people want their children "out there like that" either. It is not hard to fall from your social graces that afford you an easier and more comfortable life than the family in this story. Hopefully you are willing and able to help those you pass by that may need more than a blanket answer to a much larger question. Why are we allowing families to remain homeless? Praying for you. 🙏🙏🙏 I have been there, homeless in California. The best advice I can give is call 211 and get into a shelter so you can get into the co-ordinated entry system. Nothing will happen housing wise unless you are in this system.
Prayers really do work! I literally received an email this morning from a homeless lady who has been living in a hotel with her husband & two kids for a year. I helped them them out after I randomly came across their story & they said they had no money to get their kids any presents. Then I prayed for them just 3 days ago & they were able to get a rental home yesterday. They're in Oregon in some area where there is a housing shortage. For the past two months I've started praying & seen huge prayers answered.
I was homeless once and have a home now. I pay rent utilities and such. The money 💰 🤑 💸 I make is a problem if you wanted to live and eat. Well that shoved a hole in things. My daughter feeds me or I wouldn't be where I am.

I have nice 5th wheel CPS lady liked it day before yesterday, now she's telling me I need more I did everything they asked it seems never good enough. Folks that live in rv's "Are Not Homeless PERIOD." This is totally outrageous and unacceptable for this family and anyone else that lives in a rv to have their home STOLEN from them. They deserve their property "Rightfully Returned Back To Them." They should NOT
be forced to pay for their own property being returned to them either. They did nothing wrong,

This is heartbreaking 💔 😢 I agree with this mom. The people that are supposed to be helping are putting up more barriers and putting them in more danger and an even more unhealthy situation.
A lot of this happens when developers buy up cheap apartments, put in upgrades that nobody wants, and then raises the rent by 200 bucks. There is a serious lack of affordable housing in this state. I would love for Pelosi's nephew to have to spend one week on the street. Then maybe our great Governor will pull that silver spoon out of his mouth and actually help people.

Just seeing this a month later and would love an update. I hated that they had a place to live that was free and it was taken! Give me a break! Ummm it's not a condition it's called they didn't make the right decision to stay from being homeless everyone they showed were at one time recently on the influence of illegal drug abuse. Maybe social services should come and take all their children away because of their own actions.

That's why I chose to be forever single coz I don't able handle the responsibilities as having family (husband and kids)...
First of all stop wanting everyone else to take care of you, Including government. Stop bringing children in this world till your able to care for them the right way. I was homeless like this with my parents. I know they were not going to change and I was miserable. At the age of 13 got myself a job and moved in with one of the workers then got my own place at 16. Still doing great. They need to snap out of their victim mentality. My parents died in the streets.

The more I see stuff like this the more I'm starting to lose faith in humanity. Tow guy had no heart whatsoever and just left them to fend for themselves while he gets to go home to a nice meal and probably happy and healthy kids. What is wrong with this society.

This is sad that any family in this country lives like this. I blame the incompetent governor Nuisance and the federal government. What I see this current administration do is allow people here illegally for votes and cheap labor and bend over backwards to help them just for that reason. Lots of rvs became inoperable due to breakdowns. Can mechanics form a charity organization to get parts from salvage yard and help to fix those broken down RVs? The condition of them stationary RVs can be so bad that living on the street is preferable.
I'm actually in the process of buying a camper and they're actually really nice with lots of room. I'm 47 and I'm tried of working in a factory killing myself and paying for a house that keeps going up in rent every single year. I worked 2 jobs being a single mom and still couldn't afford hot water. People love to judge until they end up like this.

Since pandemic I lost my job,my business been bankrupt,my employee they left me,my savings got empty I'm totally nothing now and I'm living alone but I don't lose my hope that there's God my PROVIDER he knows all my needs so I never worry about those things that I need in my daily life coz I believe that He always make a way to those people that who called His name and He saved them in all the ways...

Yes absolutely she needs help. But these people on the streets need to help themselves also, why have another baby while on the streets to create more stress and turmoil that you are currently in? We as women need to be to get some type of health care for birth control or tie our tubes so children don't go into foster care. The government needs to at least give the homelss healthcare options because the cycle is just gonna continue with the kids they have.. watch soft while underbelly im learning so much about the cycle People go through hard times and its out of your hands but having more children while on the streets just seems like a million times stressful..God bless her and keep her in faith. Choices are never easy. But we all have free will.

Don’t judge unless you’re willing to take on the entire responsibility of someone else’s life. Their entire history, everything that’s influenced their beliefs and understanding of the world & everything going forward. No one is in anyone else’s head but their own. You have no friggin idea what influenced their life…you’re not friggin perfect, you’re not completely, fully educated on every moral situation let alone what you would’ve done with a different life than what you’ve had. -You couldn’t even imagine how ignorant that comment was when you made it. Maybe others should create stigma around the most precious things in your life so that you can be shamed by the world around you.
@@ec9833 completely true. But now take that and apply it to those children. Who now, without intervention from responsible adults, will likely now have the same terrible experiences to use as to why they are messed up as adults, who then pass that to their children. It’s all cyclical. Those children didn’t ask for that. They don’t deserve for that to be their story. The parents are wholly selfish for not getting their stuff together enough to either get off the streets to provide them a better life, or turn them over to someone who can.

Where are her mother, father, brother, sister, cousins? Is there a husband? You can't just park your broken down rv anywhere you want. There's a brother? Your brother won't take you in? Is there a husband who could maybe get a job??? If you or your husband can't make enough money, then learn a trade that will get you a bigger paycheck. We all work this shit out. I've work my ass off my entire life to buy my home and you can't park a broken down rv in front of it.

There are many people who don't want to be told what to do about shared living, homeless shelters have pushed families apart and not one single person takes responsibility for the working class poor who aren't drug addicts, not mentally impaired, or law breakers. I personally know a complexed family who decided not to live in the elements when a heartless home owner, his handy man, and that man's wife threatened the very lives of that family. They lived in and out of motels, camped and such for four years, then by the Grace of God and obiedent people who loved the same God helped them get a home. It still isn't the best but it's better than falling through the cracks deliberately created by the government which has been doing the same things now for at least a Hundred years. Things under an individual, not the political parties that do the same thing as each other but somehow seem to always blame the other when something really bad happens just to put themselves back in control. Want to fix the homeless problem, start by allowing people to live in enough space to actually be somewhat comfortable, allow them to keep their hard earned money by not allowing rents to exceed a reasonable amount, not overcharging for basic electricity, water, garbage, and sewer. Not everyone needs to have every channel allotted for cable, internet or gaming systems. Those are luxurious items not necessarily needed to live. Allow people to save money in a credible way. Stop punishing single parents and extended families helping them by being the caretakers of children keeping family values intact, unless of course there's proof of real abuses or addictions which don't help. Stop trying to make everyone conform to the political temperature of which ever party is in control which starts at the local district and continues to the National government. The Original Documents outline our God given Rights which we all need to remember the government does not give them however they've been legislating them away for many decades. A little compassion and empowerment go a long way.

Mom does too. When you have children, you’re pushed to make a way and provide but that’s not how all parents think, clearly. These ppl keep having children while homeless. The babies are so little, it’s sad!

Without some kind of support, it's going to be impossible for both partners to work. Someone has to keep the kids and there's no way they're going to be able to afford daycare on a poor person's salary. And in that area, one person working isn't going to be enough to afford a place. Heck, both of them working for anything less than $20-$25 an hour isn't going to be enough to afford a place. They need to leave that area and settle in a place with a lower cost of living.

I've literally felt what this mother is feeling. Hopeless, helpless and sadness are only the tip of the iceberg. Our home was my car for an entire year. God feel so bad for them. Regardless of whether I had the same experience or not there is NO WAY I could or would bring myself to take the closest thing to a home someone is forced to live in. ESPECIALLY if it was a family living in it.

Exactly I caught that! They towed it because it doesn't run and has probably been sitting in the same spot for months ! How were they hooked up to water and electricity like she claimed?... She did mention her brother called her that they were towing the RV... Were missing a lot to this story....The probability it doesn't have current registration and plates are high as well.. the rv looked very old...
Maybe their friend towed it or they paid a tow company. RVs are very light weight, so it doesn't take much to tow them. Look tiny houses on wheels. They are very heavy, since built like regular stick-built houses, yet people tow them with pick-up trucks.
