I generally despise distortion on bass, but this pedal sounds very musical by retaining top end clarity and tight low end. It sounds like it could nail Geddy Lee's tones too.

The Line 6 Hx Stomp can get an ok sound if fiddle enough; the parallel paths and mixer allow you to set a frequency (cross-over) and easily keep the low end :)
Fantastic demo Stuart. This pedal is so versatile you can have it sound like dug or billy. Or anything in between clean to over the top grind. If I closed my eyes I swear it was Sheehan. Great job.

I've been interested in this pedal since the instant it came out & I've been hearing Tim Starace from YYNOT play the absolute hell out of it. I am saving my money right now to pick up the dUg. Thanks for the demo. I'm really liking this pedal although I've never tried it. I'm looking at the DP-3X vs the Geddy Lee DI 2112 but there are no music stores close by to try them out. It. Probably two different animals but I've got to say that I do like that the DP-3X has compression on it even though not dedicated. Have you tried the DI2112? How do they compare? Hey Stuart. So I'm really trying to get a nice Justin Chancellor sound out of my gear. Obviously the hardest part to fill in that order would be a Wal Bass. I was lucky enough to acquire one last year. I've gotten pretty good tones with my tech 21 sansamp but I've been thinking about picking up this pedal to get even closer the sound I want. How do you think this would fare with getting that sound and tone?
phenomenal playing.. how does it compare to the first tech21 bass flyrig pedal..which has sansamp section in the center.. presumably this also has a fixed-sansamp internally as speaker emulation, maybe... no mention of sansamp circuit in reviews of this pedal though...

that was a good video......it would have been better if you could have gotten a player that could really play well and showcase the pedal better........LOL!!!! just kidding of course......great video, love King's X, happy for dug getting this pedal out. and you my friend are an incredible player. well done!
Excellent demo Stu. Brilliant. I have the pedal. Love it. Now waiting for the Tim Commerford rig in a pedal which unfortunately aint ever going to happen. Unless Tech 21 can convince Timmy to stop being a nanna.

Nice to see the Zon Sonus. I had a Sonus V and a Sonus Special IV. I'd use them live and to record.
In the two Billy Sheehan settings, are the mid shift and gain knob in or out?? Great demo

Thank you. I don't know how it compares to the FlyRig as I've not tried that pedal...! It's a great DI though, I really enjoy using it.

Very cool, I was just taking a look at the pedal was wondering if it did more than just distortion/OD? Questions have been answered, and then some.
Yeah it definitely offers a bit more than distortion - it's a really useful pedal to have around.
