@@PGDreemurr I don't think it works like that, the actual armor is a model, and models can't do this.
@@Gmrcat as a person who does texturepacks that depend on the name of an item, you are wrong. it works on anything, you just need to make a texture for 2 layers of the armor

The fact that this is not a vanilla feature, rather a modded one (from Optifine) makes this feel like an unfair advantage, because at that point (when you're abusing mod features anyways) you might as well get a mod that shows invisible players' skins or nametags, it would have pretty much the same effect: either way you're using mods to gain an unfair advantage.

But it really isn’t a mod… it’s just a performance enhancer
@@Blizzardholocron that doesnt make it not a mod... also it definately isn't "just" a performance enhancer, optifine has a lot of other, non-vanilla features, e.g.shaders, connected textures, rotated ("natural") textures, etc..

People can't tell who is a teammate or enemy, Mapicc's team had a texture pack so they could tell who was their teammate by the sword they had, that's why they did way better.

I have a skin that doesn’t show armor and when you hold a bow it’s op
little thing you forgot to mention, for the texture pack to work as intended you must have optifine and the server has to have the texture pack enabled for ALL PLAYERS
the first part is correct. the seccond one is false, also it works with CIT Resewn
