How can a man say he’s the’s the man of the house when he doesn’t take responsibility of as his part. He don’t pay no bills no house rent and he doesn’t give her money to go in the house. He dined not take care her and the mother-in-law need to stay out of there children business these are grown adults

Different generations, different times. But yes correct in this time. But 200 years ago slavery was considered normal and acceptable. Are you going to demand a Nobel physics laureate build you a time machine, then you try to stop the battle of marathon? Then the Greeks and Persians will make rapid target practice of you, then spend hours seeing how long they can make you live while trying to end you.

Unfortunately in many counties and culture, the Patriarchal is still very much alive, even in Western nations. Right here in S Africa, many young like 20's - 30's+ year old Afrikaans and English S African men do not want their wives to work. I'm an English speaking white S African grandmother, nearly 70 years old, my husband of almost 50 years did not want me to work and even cost me my new employment opportunity. My revenge, I started my own company from home. Today I was listening to a young S African, 22 year old bilingual lady who is dating a super guy, predominantly Afrikaans and she told me that he DOES NOT WANT HER TO WORK after they get married. My advice to her, insist on being able to work and you do not know what the future holds. I have a younger son who is now on short time and his wife was retrenched 5 months ago. At the end of this month, he has no salary. She only had UIF money coming in at the beginning of next month. Once again they will have no choice but to move in with us. Patriarchal men just don't seem to realise or their stupid pride thinks is a macho thing for only the husband to work, and don't stop to thing what could happen if he suddenly dies or severely injured at work, or becomes disabled and cannot work what does the wife then do if she has no work experience for many years or decades and suddenly finds that she has to work to put food on the table for herself and husband, and possibly a number of children as well, who also need clothes, education and she has to now also pay rent or mortgage. And yes this scenario is happening all around the world, in present modern day because hubby has refused to let his wife work. There are amazing preschool and kindergarden facilities in S Africa and in many other western countries, unfortunately the eastern culture is still stuck in centuries ago as well as many Western families as well😢

Why are these modern oriental women not standing up to their mother inlaws, from day one, I refused to accept my mother in laws nonsense and my husbands, with hubby it did take longer for him to realise that he cannot bully me. In the long run my mother inlaw and I became the best of friends and I was more there for her than her on son was, right up to her death in 2010 and I nursed her for the last 4 months, on her death bed, in my home, our private doctor did come and check on her. For almost 30 years, my hubby knows where he stands and vice versa and we have a fairly compatible relationship, and yes despite almost 50 of marriage we still do have occasional volcanic arguments but a short while later, the storm is over
girl it is time for you to stand up to him and make him pay for utilities and stop giving money to his mother
