A palavra é "cachopa" não "catchopa". Em português antigo o "ch" era lido sempre como "tx". Na maioria das variedades do português "ch" evoluiu para ser pronunciado apenas como "x", mas ainda há zonas no norte que mantêm a pronuncia original. Também há polémica sobre se realmente trocamos o "v" por "b" ou se aqui sempre se pronunciou tudo como "b" aqui. Há registos do século XI e XII (quando nem se considera já que a língua era português, mas antes galaico-português) que mostam que havia já betacismo aqui. Se procurarem por betacismo encontram imensa coisa sobre o assunto.
A suggestion for future videos-- Please put the subtitles at the top of the frame, so I can see the transcription and translation when I stop the video, which I need to do often. Now a progress bar blocks them. Otherwise this series is wonderful. Please make more with both English and Portuguese subtitles!!
Thanks for the suggestion and kind words! What device are you watching on? If you view full screen there shouldnt be any interface elements from TH-cam overlapping. The subtitle placement is always a challenge, but I hesitate to consider putting them above the video since I think it goes against where people are used to seeing them. In more recent videos, we try to place them as high as we can without interfering with the content, while still leaving space below so people can enable / disable the English captions in the TH-cam settings. Thanks again!
I'm on a MacBook using Safari. I did try it in full screen mode. Sometimes the progress bar and other elements disappear once the video is playing, but when I pause the video, the progress bar crosses the English subtitle. @@PracticePortuguese
