it work! on a led light 6W to 9W it is probably a square wave because after an hour the transformer becomme warm! Of corse the secondary winding (110V or 220V) dictate the bulb voltage required! Nice trick for my wood camp!
I recommend adding 2x capacitor (must be calculated according to the transformer) and heatsinks for the transistors. A demonstration with a board, a hot air gun and imperfect soldering is enough for a demonstration, but it is better to choose another and safer solution.

Looks like the two transistors and resistors are a flip-flop circuit that excites each branch of the primary (battery side) of the transformer and induces an oscillating sine wave voltage in the secondary (bulb side) of the transformer.

The one that doesn't show is how many volts it comes out of. The led can go up to 85 volts. Now those who are asking about battery polarity and what the transistor pins are ... look for ... data sheet .. and a picture of a battery IS SO SIMPLE....

depends on the current draw/load that you put it on, for example if you have two battery cells in series and each has 1.7V and capacity of 2000mAh then the voltage is gonna be 3.4V, capacity will be the same 2000mAh which means it can output 2 Amps of current for a hour and lets say you have a light bulb or load that draws 1amp which means it will run for 2 hours till the 2000mAh battery will be completly drained.
