Thank you. Strictly speaking the Douglas Pine used for the burn is also anachronistic. We use oak for all the permanent wooden structures in the castle: roof timbers, bridge, doors etc. To avoid cuting all the oaks in the surrounding forest we use Douglas pine for temporary structures.
Yes, they don't live and eat as in the 13th century but they build only a castle with methods of the early of middle age. This experience is based only on building with tools and the ways of this period. They seek what the ways were to build a castle and what the architectural fashion was during the beginning of this 13th century only.
